SuperSpeed without glowy feet
Not sure where the idea came to have super speed cause people feet to glow like crazy, but I'd love a version that didn't have any effects.

I personally would rather use the ninja run animation.
Wanted: Origin centric story arcs.
If you've only played an AT once (one set combo) and "hate" it - don't give up. Roll a different combo. It may just be those sets not clicking for you.
grrrrr....

Frankly, I'd see it as being a bit more of an undertaking than "regular" power customization (and part of why we haven't seen epics added, either.) Setting up customization for powers that might not be there from one time to the next, between respecs and multiple builds? It's one thing with a primary and secondary. Even if someone doesn't take a power, you know it'll be available. A bunch of pools that might not be, and won't be there when you first create a character (or at 20, 30 or 40?)
Yeah, I'd say it's more "there's quite a lot to it that will take time to do halfway decently" instead of "low priority."
Are you sure about that?

Very disheartening.

I'd quote the posts, but it is unnecessary. I completely agree. Honestly, I am far more concerned with making my character (and his/her powers) look exactly the way I want them to, than I am with furthering their post-50 prowess (which currently seems to be the focus of developer attention). I do not doubt that pool/Ancillary/Patron costumization is a large undertaking, but it is something much of the player base has been requesting since i16, over a year and a half at this point. Just a few reasons we should bump it up on the priority list:
- The more new powers we add before completing customization across the board, the more potential we have for powers with conflicting/clipping animations i.e. I imagine every power in game would have to work with, say, a new hover animation, and adding new Incarnate abilities only increases the number of powers that need to be checked.
- The incarnate abilities are, if I remember correctly, customizable. Why not do that with existing powers first before adding the new stuff?
- The past couple issues have been spent appeasing those players who have been requesting end-game content. Let's now switch gears, just temporarily, back to those more concerned with the cosmetic side of things. You can't make everyone happy all the time, true enough, but you can alternate whom you appease.
@Winter. Because I'm Winter. Period.
I am a blaster first, and an alt-oholic second.
I agree. I always seem to have a character look 90% of what I want. It's that last 10% that seems impossible. Much of these issues come with glowies when they don't fit my character, but are required by the power.

I completely subscribe to every word you say, and would gladly support you if you ever make a bid to replace Tyrant as the new ruler of the multiverse.
First things first: Yes, I completely agree with power pool and epic pool customization suggestions every time they show up. We need this.
Secondly, I'm very disappointed with the low priority this has been given. Power customization was I16. I'm not an impatient man, I can wait as long as it takes, but one would have expected that the developers would finish what they started within a few Issues. It's I20 now, and unless this is a miraculously unannounced feature, we'll have gone a full four with nary a word on the subject. Not good.
It seems the developers have simply ascribed a tremendously low importance on pool and epic customization. Yes, I'm aware of the difficulties, but even besides those, priority seems far lower than it should be.
And now we have reputedly customizable Incarnate powers. To my eyes, this shows that the developers CAN indeed institute customization for powers that one is not guaranteed to have when they really want to, which just tells me they didn't want to do it before Incarnates. Which is disheartening in a big way.
At the same time, when examined without cynicism, this development appears reassuring. If we already have (or will have within the next six hours) non-powerset powers which can be customizable, then this surely means that much of groundwork for pool and epic customization has been laid and we can hope to see them somewhere in the not-too-distant future.
This, however, puts the impetus right back on the development team, because if we do see customizable Incarnate powers and then spend another year not seeing customizable pools and epics, then... Well...
Samuel_Tow is the only poster that makes me want to punch him in the head more often when I'm agreeing with him than when I'm disagreeing with him.

remember too, everything we customize is more lines in each costume file that everyone has to load every time they zone for everyone else in the zone.
maximum increase in data per player if every pool got 2 colors and we were able to customize all epics:
9 pools x 4 powers x 2 colors (x light/dark)
8 epics x 5 powers x 2 colors (x crystal/stone and/or light/dark)
= 72 (x light/dark) + 80 (x crystal/stone and/or light/dark)
lots of extra data (yes some powers have limited effects or people might want a magic option for the medicine pool, etc - the point is still valid even if the math doesn't account for every nuance).
