  1. Conceptually I love it. Unfortunately, Investigate and Tracker, as useful as they'd be at this time, are powers that affect the UI rather than anything in game. This means that if anything were changed in how that part of the UI works down the road, such as how the "last enemies" or "last glowie" were made to show up now, it could invalidate the set as a whole, or worse, the set could get in the way of the developers making further changes to the UI by locking them in to certain functionalities.
  2. I do really appreciate that the devs took our feedback and did make an attempt to bring them back in line with what they were. I can certainly live with this version of CoT without to much pain (at least after I get DOs)... However, I'd also really appreciate if "Classic CoT" were at least left in the Mission Architect for us nostalgic types.
  3. It's much better than the last go at revamping them... I can at least see a vague similarity between this and the iconic CoT appearance. I think these are amazing costume pieces, and are wonderfully suitable for extensive use, and I'm happy to hear they'll be available to players, I think that's the best use there is for them... but they still look wrong for CoT. I'd rather face lower resolution classic Cot than these things any day. They're awesome looking and all... but it's like you took a '67GT and dressed it up in a fiberglass body kit to make it look like a 2012 model. At least it doesn't look like a '67GT dressed up like a Tron-mobile anymore though, so it's much less bad.

    Rocket Boards?

Ice slide is cool and all (see what I did there?) but frankly I'd rather have a motorcycle (or a couple types of motorcycles... chopper, crotchrocket, Electra Glide with PCPD markings... maybe even a steam/dieselpunk cycle). Even if it gray'd out all my other powers so all I could do was ride it (well, I'd like an emote to sit on it while stationary, or lean against it). It'd also be great just seeing them as part of existing traffic, or parked on the side of the street, in backyards of King's Row, outside taverns parked by the dozen in a biker row... Might not be the most action packed or dynamically comprehensive addition the game could get, but with all the bikeresque low end gangers in the game (Hellions, Skulls, Trolls, Syndicate, etc) I think it'd be a great addition, even if it does become outdated by a better version in a couple years.

FWIW, I like Sky Skiffs too, and would love a version of something similar usable by players.

    Love this idea!

I have a thing for Giant Mecha (I played a lot of Battletech as a kid), but that aside, yeah, this is also a great idea, and a perfectly functional way to work it.

Also, the idea for the mission is not so much about being in "god mode" and stomping everything because it's helpless compared to the new giant you, it's just about changing the perspective of the scale... The enemy Giant Monsters would still be as tough as any other Bosses/EBs/GMs in the last mission, so your power level wouldn't actually change, it would just seem to since they were unbeatable in a previous mission leading up to this (think Reichsman).
  6. I think using it for one mission will fall somewhat short of undermining one of the basic tenets of the game... and the coding and tech derived for such a mission would be a great way to try out new things, like destructible buildings (or in general, any non-targetable destructible objects, so we can have more collateral damage without having to run around intentionally breaking stuff, and having breakable stuff clutter our targeting).
  7. Ok, I know we can't have growth powers because of issues with fitting in tunnels and such. However, I'd love to see a story arch where you're going along, fighting the bad guys, and get stomped by one or more "Unbeatable Giant Monsters". Then you have to help some scientist get supplies to build a super weapon to defeat them, which turns out to be a Giant Mecha power. The power is Auto, so when you enter the final mission, your character is effectively turned into some giant mechanical robot (kinda like the 5th column ones or so... they'd actually make great enemies for this scenario), that functions similarly to Nova or Dwarf form on a Kheld, greying out most or all of your existing powers, and giving you powers appropriate to a giant mech, like missile launchers, rapid laser cannons, stomp, and so on...

The mission map would look, at first, like one of the urban maps, say the Atlas Park bank mission, but in reality, all the buildings would be replaced with equivalents that are non-targetable destructable objects (essentially they only take damage from AoE effects). Aside from the "Giant Monster" enemies, the map could also be stocked with squads of Longbow/Arachnos/5th Council soldiers to support or oppose you, but they would all be effectively powered down to "underlings", so that you have that feel of GM power as well.

I know the tech might be a lot of work for a single mission arch (of course it could be reused for others), but it might also help develop coding and tools to make better use of giant monsters in general...
  8. I know a lot of folks are excited about the mission revamp in Mercy and looking forward to dealing with less snakes. I understand this. However, I think that the snakes are a really cool enemy group, when used in moderation. I'd like to see a couple more snake storylines here and there. I'd love to see a gigantic snake GM pop up in Mercy now and then also. Last, I'd like some Snake based Lore pets.

    Tank you kindly
  9. I'd like to add a couple to your list if you don't mind...

Give Null the Gull the ability to offer immunity to stealth effects

Like he already gives immunity to other things that are of some annoyance to some players, it would be nice to get protection from potentially undesired stealth effects (but still keep related buffs), for instance so that when somebody is running Shadow Fall or buffing the team with Group Invisibility, the tank can retain full visibility, and hostages don't lose tracking on you. (I know some don't, but some still do :/ )

Give us a /stuck power to use on NPC followers

I'd love to have everyone get a "perma-temp" power called [Snap Out Of It] or [Come With Me If You Want To Live] that when used on an NPC follower (hostage/pet/etc) within maybe 20 feet would act like Recall Ally, allowing us to fix those situations where the prisoner we're leading out has gotten himself stuck on a pipe or is unable to figure out stairs. I also believe it would be cool if the new "tutorial experience" specifically incorporated a situation where it was necessary to use this (maybe you find a stuck hostage in a mission, but before you can get them to follow you, you have to go find and click a glowie that gives you this power, which after using on them will have them follow you out.)

With the upcoming Energy Aura proliferation, I'd love to see the Praetorian Loyalist armor effects (that field of energy hexes that flares up when you hit them... also used in one of the new origin capes) added to it as an option for alternate (colorable) FX. This effect would also look awesome on Force Fields.

If doing the dishes were easy, my roommate would've done them by now... oh wait, nope, they're pretty simple, and he hasn't. Sometimes the fact that nobody's gotten around to doing something that needs to be done has nothing to do with the complexity of the matter... For instance, I doubt there's an overwhelming level of difficulty to finding all the powers that say they provide Damage Resistance to *all damage* and yet only provide resistance to Smashing/Lethal, and then correcting the text that says *all damage* to accurately reflect what the power actually does... and yet it hasn't been done yet, and probably never will, because it's not directly attached to whatever new, shiny problems are getting the hairy eyeball since they're new and shiny.
  14. Continuing to grasp at straws here...

Y'know what else would make Stalkers cooler and give them an interesting and appropriate combat effect without screwing up their general balance or increasing their overall DPS levels?

Make "Hidden" Status provide immunity to *special* damage types, like Hamidon, Krystal Titan, or Praetorian Battle Maiden's [Blue Death Aura].

Maybe an Assassin Strike won't be a game breaker when dealing with one of these powerhouses, but it would greatly increase a Stalker's "cool factor" if they could sneak up into the tank slaying death aura with impunity and backstab the wench (even if he died almost immediately thereafter... still beats dying on the way in).

Of course I still wouldn't complain if the AS was able to deal out something that would actually disrupt an AV's battle plans. It'd be sweet if an AS nullified existing blue death auras (and similar AV powers) and prevented more of them from coming up for about 10 seconds, giving the team time to regroup, and making a Stalker a *highly desirable* team member for the TF.

I'd get my happy goin' if I could go to the store and plunck down a buck or two a piece for some of the costume codes that are out there (as well as quite a few that aren't... like the 5th Council Warwolves... Want NAOOOOOOHH!) but the idea of sitting around refreshing FB or Twitter, or even these forums, in hopes of claiming a code? silly and absurd. I even regret the time it takes to respond to something like this that is lost from time I could be playing (I still do it because if I don't get it off my chest it'll annoy me all night and I'll just log off anyway and go read a book or watch a movie...)

    [Tough] info bug

PS: The same can be said for [Temp Invulnerability] in the Power Mastery ancillary pool for Defenders (and others maybe?)

    [Tough] info bug

I know it may seem pretty insignificant to a lot of folks, but it still /bugs me a bit when I'm going over power info. Is there any plan to fix the info on Tough to state that it only adds to Smashing/Lethal (it currently says it adds +res to all, but only actually gives to S/L)? Of course I'd also be happy with the power being "fixed" to match the description (and while I'm dreaming, I'd love to have it changed to about 7.5-10% res to all and made auto... after all you're either tough or your not )

The next day i had my favorite GM, GM Lloyd, send me a mail back, saying that he found the 7 items, and i need to provide a toon name that has 7 spots open since he has to drop it in a toon. Went to a lowbie project, cleared a few drops to make room, and i'll prob have it over the weekend.

Thank you guys for keeping track of this and giving back what we 'lost'.
Here's to hoping that we can all get similar service...

Unfortunately I can only narrow my loss down to one of two characters, sometime in the past 3 days... a pair of Ragnaroks and a HO, plus some other stuff... I'm expecting their respose to me to be a "polite" version of Hah Hah! Sux 2BU!

EDIT: Thank you GM_Roland and the rest of the CS staff. I'm quite pleased to have been disappointed in my expectations...

    Email rollback

It's bad enough that I have to waste so much of the time I should be playing the game dealing with inventory administration. Why should I be expected to put forth the equivalent of a part time job as an online file clerk just to "take part" in having nice IOs? Yeah, sure, some lawyer in the marketing department says that we can have a fulfilling game experience while completely ignoring the crafting system, but who do they think they're kidding? Now they give us a horrible inventory glitch, and then tell us they "might" be able to help us if we happened to itemize our email inventory just prior to the rollback (Sure, hearing about it all after the fact should serve as sufficient advance warning...)

What a slap in the face :/

Worse, I have to sit here resisting the urge to pummel my roommate who's taking the opportunity to gloat over how easy it's been for him to get lost items replaced in WoW.
  20. Just an idea about what I always felt was missing from Stalkers...

I always felt that Stalkers should do a better job of fulfilling the role of the monsters and killers in slasher flicks. I'd love to see a bid of code worked into the game so that when someone starts running away from a Stalker (you know that cowardice code that makes people chase something all over the map, or have to wait till it calms down and comes back), well as long as they're under the effect of the "running away" status when targeted by a Stalker, give them a chance to suffer Knockdown every 5 seconds or so, just like everyone who tries to run away from a serial killer in a movie It's too circumstantial to cause much of a major shift in combat, but the fun and satisfaction involved would be awesome.

I also wouldn't mind seeing a "20% chance for fear" proc aura added to Hide... They know something's wrong, but not quite what or where, and every so often it makes the lesser enemies freak out a bit I'd even take it as a proc enhancement invention.

    Ultimate Respecs

I'm not particularly attached to the double xp myself... it was stated that it's gotten much easier to earn xp, and that's correct.

As for the rest, I stand by my points. If you don't like it, that's fine, move along... I'm not holding a gun to your head making you read it or waste your time carefully wording a hostile and spiteful response to "not read as a personal attack". If you have something constructive to add, that's wonderful too

Aside from inventory management (because we all know how important allocation of loot should be in a friggin super-being world... jeez) you could run a Supergroup better with MySpace and Vent than you can with the in game tools. I don't think we're wrong for wanting better, and retorting in a snarky and condescending manner won't change that.
  23. Having the same problem. Very old toon, but he'd been set aside since forever ago and hasn't done any Halloween stuff till now. I have occasionally noticed that I get a "treat" and get nothing (open space in the insp tray and power tray, nothing mentioned in the rewards channel). I think this may be where I'm getting the credit towards Clothes Horse/etc. It's as if I'm getting the drops, but they're getting lost somewhere before they show up on my trays.

Ditto! I really like how the new events page is layed out. Badge pics, limited info... very cool!
  25. I'm with others who think this and the "Party Pack" should have been combined. Each is interesting, and the work that's gone into them is certainly top notch, but each feels like there should be a bit more. I'll pick it up, because in comparison to a couple shots at the pub, this will likely be more useful, but if this is stage 2 of a new marketing trend, then I'll probably be less likely to grab the next one. On the other hand, give this a more reasonable price than the party pack (say $4.99) and I'll be much more please with the value for money spent.
