Quote:And yet you Americans took Celine Dion off our hands.I was assuming this was why it was banned, I thought Canadians must just have good taste.
Then I remembered Bryan Adams.
At least they're getting quicker at this sort of thing. Last week it was a centuries old book. This week a decades old song. Soon they'll be censoring stuff that's only a few years out of the spotlight. -
My take on a SWAT-style outfit. I use variations of it for a few characters.

I'm looking forward to Fast Five a lot more than I really should.
To be fair, the nerd community that really gets worked up over stuff like that is pretty small, albeit vocal, so it'll probably do okay. The general audience doesn't care. Whether it's good is an entirely different issue. -
Probably seeing this with the wife Sunday. I like cheesy action flicks, so hopefully it's not too bad.
One thing that bugs me about the current generation of movie reviewers is the disparity between the written review and the score.
'A rhino and muskox had sex, and the abortion that resulted was this movie. I give it a 3/5.'
Too much pandering? Maybe just an unwillingness to really rate a movie the way they feel? Maybe just trying to show off their 'scathing vocabulary' or something? Just something that's been bugging me lately, not specific to this movie in any way. -
The Martial Arts pack is the only one I've picked up so far. Ninja Run for the most part, but the customization options for the sword sets is great too.

I've recently become a big fan of /Stone while running my Inv/Stone. The two AoE knockdowns cut incoming damage a ton. Not so great mitigation against an AV, but against regular mobs you pretty much neuter them.
DB would likely put out some fantastic damage, and it has a fair amount of KD later in the build. DB/Elec for scrappers certainly pumps out the damage, and I'd imagine it would for tankers as well.
Those would be my two picks of those you listed. Love both of them, and yet they are so completely different in feel. -
Bah, just make Time Bomb a hand grenade and adjust the numbers accordingly. Or something like the VEATs Venom Grenade. Cottage rule be damned.
-
If I wanted to play an 'annoying' build for npc's to play against, I'd go Earth/Storm controller. Slows and Knockback and Debuffs ahoy! Definitely two of the more annoying powersets for me to play against.
-
I like Devices because a lot of my blasty-types are meant to be 'natural' origin and Defenders and Corruptors don't get LRM. It's the only real choice. Plus, it has so many crap powers that I don't have to worry about 'finding room' for concept powers.

Quote:I'll recommend Brotherhood of the Wolf for Mark Dascascos fans, then.
It's hard to categorize... it's like a horror/conspiracy/mystery/costume drama/kung fu movie. And it's awesome.Quote:Die Hard in my mind, to this day remains the standard to which all other action movies should be judged.
Some of mine I particularly enjoy:
Four Brothers
True Lies
The Rundown
Tango & Cash
Doomsday
Taken
Starship Troopers -
The generic answer is 2 Emp/Sonic Defenders.
I would go for more variety personally. Fire/Stone tanker with Sonic/Cold corruptor. Elec/Dark scrapper with Earth/Kin controller. Fire/Fire blaster with Bots/Traps mastermind. Whatever gets your gun off. -
I liked it, and since it's on the first day of my weekend I'll actually be able to stay up to watch it on a regular basis.

Inv/Stone is my current favourite tank to team with. A very solid primary paired with two AoE knockdowns in the secondary can keep a tanker, and his team, alive a good, long time. Endurance is a bit of an issue, but the attacks hit hard and animate fast. So far (at 42 right now) it's been a very nice combo for tanking, and lays down some solid damage when I need to.

I've got one in the early 40's and I think they work quite well together. Scaling +to hit from Invincibility helps keep your combos landing, Dull Pain is the only click power to cause redraw (aside from Unstoppable which I never take), and DB provides some solid mitigation later on in the set in the form of knockdown.
Not really any 'knock your socks off' type synergy, but they do pair well. -
Kinetic Melee: it's the only Inv/* of those I haven't played to significant levels.
-
TV Show: Supernatural - consistently amazing writing and it's not about 'regular crap' which gets it a 5 pt head start
Movie: Kickass - Inception was good, but the hype kinda killed it for me, and Kickass was solid. Red would be my second choice.
Book: Towers of Midnight - sadly the only one I read this year (that was released this year), although I did write one. I like what Sanderson has done with WoT, as you can just feel the tension grow as the end nears. -
Quote:I always love seeing powerlifting pictures: one guy lifting, and about eight guys spotting. It's like working for the government. Ah, the memories...Batman is at the peak of human condition and in the real world we have people bench pressing 1,000 pounds, so I believe this could happen (see link again).

While I don't feel it's all that hard to find good names (try the Virtue Name Watch thread stickied at the top of the forum), I would like to see another, announced, name purge.
