    Wheeeerrrrr

If you are referring to a PB, this was posted by Muon Neutrino in a thread a few posts down:

If you don't mind doing a bit of fiddling, there is actually a pretty straightforward way to eliminate this problem, so that you can make or play with PBs without headaches.

Check out this thread: How to silence specific game sounds. I know that the peacebringer attack sound was brought up several times in that thread, so you should definitely be able to get rid of it.

    What's the -Damage cap?*
It's simpler than that...all you have to do is have everyone on the team slot Flash Arrow with a little bit of -tohit, and only use that. Slotted with 25% enhancement, that is enough for 8 members to reach the -tohit cap (at 45%) for the spawn. It's unresistible, so it also will get to that cap for AV's. It's what we did on an all TA/ defender team I ran (we didn't have to slot Flash Arrow though). Sure, throw in Poison Gas for AV's, since their damage when it gets through could still be bad.

No point in adding Smoke. It's resistible anyway.

Also, Flash has a 10' bigger radius than PGA.
  4. The Fire/Rad superteam used it to teleport from spawn to spawn, so I hear. The entire enemy spawn would melt in seconds, they'd have one guy "leading" the team, aka clicking to teleport the team to the next spawn, etc etc.

    All Kheld MoSTF

As for a regular STF, I've never heard of an all-kheld attempt before I tried last year. I'm certain that we could have finished if we had all 8 members still present. Recluse might have required a pre-emptive inspiration run (pop three big purples and you're defense capped to Recluse, if I remember right) by several people and maybe temp powers as well, but it could have been done.

I've never heard of a MoSTF attempt. Might require a couple regular runs first just to get familiar with how the team will need to be run, I would think - if we are really going to attempt it.

    [edit]
Ah, test server isn't available now. What server are you on, Micro?
  6. My first 50 came from an Earth/*mainly Storm superteam. It was tons of fun.

    Here's a video.

    And another.

Kind of silly, but it was a lot of fun. I've also been on an Ill/Rad superteam, but very boring. AM + Pets, then wait for them to kill the spawn while doing seemingly useless ST attacks...blah.

    All Kheld MoSTF

Hm, can't seem to find where I had posted about a year ago on how my all-kheld STF went. We made it to killing 2, I think, of the 4 AV's right before Recluse. By that time, we were running with 5/6 players, since the TF had taken a lot longer than expected, and players were dropping out. We had to quit then because of less players and a late night.

We learned quite a bit along the way. You might not think that PB's with Lightform would do well, but they turned out to be our best tankers for AV's. One PB would start, and right before the crash occurred he would yell out and another would hit Lightform and take their place. That system eventually worked really well once it got going. For whatever reason, the Dwarf's just were not cutting it that well. Eclipse will go off fine at the start of the fight, but by the time you need to use it again, the rest of the spawn is dead, and Eclipse off of the 1 AV left in the spawn isn't going to give you much survivability.

(Doh, just re-read your idea on yourself tanking. Yep, having a ton of defense will definitely make a dwarf WS viable. Nvm, you've got that covered!)

My optimal team reflecting back would be a few WS's, hopefully tri-form, and the rest as human/nova PB's. Having a few WS's as tri-form ensures that there's possibilities for quick tanking when the situation calls for it as well as quick control when needed, and PB's as dual ensures that they can all rotate tanking. Nova is there for good damage - have the PB's each have the Achilles' -res proc in a couple of the Nova powers. At least that was my thinking back then. Didn't realize that you could get quite a bit of defense to layer with dwarf.

I don't see the need to force one or two players to be "buff-bots". We had nice rolling heals/buffs going the whole way through without enforcing it. You see someone get hurt too much, you switch to human quickly to throw out a heal, simple. But then again, if this is MoSTF, you'll have to be much more careful. We had a few problems with over aggroing multiple spawns...whoever is leader is going to have to have a tight leash on players. We khelds like to have chaos at times. :P You'll have to make doubly sure that every single player knows what is going on for every AV fight - kheld teams just not as straight forward and generally understood even by regular kheld players. Even more so with specialized tactics.

I'd be interested in doing this - have a purpled tri-form WS on Justice, but could manage to move over to the test server if needed. He does have perma Eclipse, but also Grant Invis and maybe Maneuvers, if I recall correctly...Grav Snare I don't think so, but might. I never use it, don't recall really needing to that badly during my kheld STF.

I dunno. I'm not saying human is best for it, but he never ask for "the best ever warshade build for farming." I'm not a huge farm fan, but when he started asking for a warshade to do CONTENT with. That made me perk up a bit. I believe humanform is looked down on as "gimped" and I'm afraid that that is simply not the case.
You can use Quasar perfectly well even if you have Nova slotted - it takes 0 seconds to shift from Nova to Human and drop down on the spawn to use it. If you're Human/Nova, you can even have the slots left to use Unchain Essence. The timers are long enough that it shouldn't affect you form-switching wise.

I'd never call Unchain a nuke anyway...you can fire the two Nova AoE's, and do more damage than Unchain. And then those AoE's will be recharged quite a bit faster to keep on using - more time to own face instead of waiting for one of two human AoE's to recharge. Quasar does almost twice as much as Unchain, now that one is definitely a nuke.

Higher survivability is also not much of an argument because of Eclipse...well, at least once it is near perma I suppose.
  9. My initial reaction would be to say that the form attacks are just not slotted as they could be. Blast, Emanation, Strike, and Smite I would all beef up by taking slots out of Ebon Eye, Shadow Blast, and Dark Detonation. No idea how much of a form user you might be though, so model the build after what you find yourself siding towards in-game.

It's generally not a bad build I suppose - Eclipse might want a bit more Accuracy - I have 2 Rech/Res and 2 Acc/Rech in mine, and it's not too shabby.

why would you want something that appears to be sub par and worse at a job then something already available? Do you just prefer melee over range?

This is a real question no snark intented.
An actual melee set would be doing more damage than a ranged set and especially if that set is the primary. Debuffs in the secondary would generally fill the role of protection. I really enjoy blapper or blapper-style toons quite a bit, and even if certain debuffs wouldn't be as protective as shields/whatnot, it'd make the game a bit more difficult, and thus more enjoyable for me.

    Dark Melee/Dark Miasma?
  12. All I want is a Melee/Debuff AT, now that would be a lot of fun.
  13. *sigh*

I'll rephrase then. I don't see how any all-human build will be as fast as a dual or tri for farming.

Yes, all-human shades are quite viable in all areas of play.

But in farming, I seriously doubt that if you give up Nova AoE you'll be able to make up for it in human. Heck, with Human/Nova, you can still slot up Unchain Essence and use it all you want. If you do so, you'll only be losing benefits of Orbiting Death (does it still do half the damage as regular PBAoE damage auras?) and Dark Detonation by using Nova.

  15. IMO, the 13% melee defense isn't going to help you that much, and the slots trying to get there could be used for better things. If you are going for Defense, I'd try to go all ranged, and then pack in some recharge - perma or near perma Eclipse is just too great all on its own.

I'd break up the Obliteration in Sunless Mire, and even the Gaussian's in Nova and use them for other things.

If you're going ranged defense, khelds can be a bit sly and fit in 5 of the Zephyr 3.13% ranged defense bonuses among the various travel powers - I know the purely travel one is cheap, but the travel/end one might be a tad rare and slightly more expensive. (The -KB one is extremely expensive)

Here are some changes that get up to 38% ranged defense...to fit in either more defense, or get near perma-Eclipse, the price is going to take a steep turn for the worse - LotG uniques can be helpful, since khelds can take filler powers in the 40's to throw them into.

Here's an updated, if you want to see it. (I'd also throw in a -KB IO into one of the early shields you picked up. Also, taking the Resistance enh out of Eclipse means you'll need 6 instead of 5 foes hit to cap resistance...up to you if you want to make that change and get another slot into Gravity Well.)

If you want to go for more all-around defense, I'd have to tinker with it some more.

    thank you !
Being fun and being people's mains does not automatically make an powerset/AT a good farm toon. I highly doubt that a WS will be for you if you are simply looking for a farmer.

But anyway...there are plenty of builds lying around in quick sight that will be able to farm just fine. They probably won't suit your needs per se, but hey, they're already there and can be modified if that would make you feel better. Nova form will be doing the most damage and will probably be quickest. I don't see an all-human or even a human/dwarf being quick at all. Perma Hasten isn't that useful, making sure it's up all the time will be annoying while you are switching forms (Tri or maybe Dual-Nova/Human will be fastest farmers). Perma Eclipse only takes about 88% global recharge.

Here, look at these threads, all within first few pages of the Kheldian section. They all have builds that will very likely be able to farm well enough. Pick one, post it with some of your own ideas or questions, and I'm sure we'd be a lot more willing to lend a hand.

In fact, there's a thread on the 3rd page that is titled "Farming Warshade". Please search for answers/builds first.

Here's one with good builds in it. IMO, at least (since I helped edit it...) Great example of a perma-eclipse tri-former while being fairly cheap (as in, no purple/pvp IO's...)

Here's one with general advice/builds. Not sure even how familiar you are with khelds...generally refer to dwarf form as "lobster" around here.

    Another, might help yah.

    And another.
  17. On cheap purple sets - the pet purples don't include global recharge...they have good bonuses elsewise though (I have them slotted on my build) The hold purple set would only be 2.5% more recharge than the Basilisk's, and will be much more expensive. The stun purple set would only be 3.75% more recharge than Stupefy, and would also be much more expensive. *shrug*

If you're going to get 2 -KB IO's, at least try to make them the Steadfast and Karma. Those will run up to 10 million each, while a single Zephyr -KB is going to go upwards of 100 million.
  18. A few things:

    1) Multiple -KB IO's really doesn't help. I have 1 slotted in my toon, and have yet to recall I time I've been knocked back. And while in Nova/Dwarf, you won't be KB'd anyway. All those Zephyr -KB IO's are going to cost a TON of inf.

    2) Two of your 5% global recharges are being wasted. You have 7, and the limit is 5. I put some Mocking Beratement into the Taunt to get another 7.5%. For the remaining wasted 5%, used Basilisk's Gaze in Gravity Well, added slots to throw in Dam/Rech to it.

    3) Eclipse needs Accuracy. How about 2 Acc/Rech and 2 Res/Rech? It's what I run, and works well.

    4) Build Up proc in the pets? I'm not sure how well this works, it either has a chance to fire only when you summon one (not that useful) or when the pets attack (useful). Anyone know?

    5) I'd peel a slot from Stygian Circle to throw another Recharge onto Hasten, but that's just me. My 'shade has ~88% global recharge, three-slotted hasten, and Eclipse slotted as shown above, and I have perma Eclipse. With the changes in #2, you're up to that same recharge, so I'd throw a third slot into Hasten to make sure Eclipse is perma. You might be able to get by without it though.

    6) Not sure about how effective the Psi Resistance unique is in the shield...I'd just throw in the Steadfast -KB IO since it's really cheap (Oh, just saw you have one in Invisibility) . I mean, Gravitic Emanation is perma and so can keep you safe from mez yourself while soloing...and if you're in Dwarf a lot, psi res isn't so helpful.

    7) Some other procs or random IO's I'm unsure of...Chance for Hold in the Snare, do you use it a lot, and would it be helpful even if you did? Even when combined with Ebon Eye, that's only a chance for a low hold that won't last long - I'd rather just do Gravitic + Inky (with Acc in Inky) to get a boss stunned, then move to multiple Gravity Well's to keep held. (That's the strategy I used to solo some Vanguard missions with bosses, those guys are a pain)

A really nice build though. If I had been building my shade nowadays, I would go for this, definitely.

Here's my version of it updated:

  19. Sweet! Glad to see that you're loving it.

Perhaps I'll give this a try:

Gravitic (What does that even mean!?) Emanation (What does that even mean!?)

Oh, how I love this power, and continuously rant on about it absolutely every single time I give build advice. Oh, lovable power that makes me laugh at Malta, glee as their helpless bodies are flung against a wall, and when they get back on their feet they are still dazed...meanwhile, I am switching to Nova again to pound them mercilessly into the ground...oh no, it looks like the stun is wearing off oh no---BLAST them again with it, knock 'em back to the wall, and the mobs start crying to themselves as they realize stundidly that they are perma stunned and will shortly die. But perhaps their souls can come back and aid me as a fluffy, purple shooting pet. Who knows.

Seriously, I'm positive that I love this power more than anyone else on these boards. 5/6-slot it. Throw some Acc/Rech/Stun in there. Congrats, you have a perma mag 3 AoE stun, something that controllers can't even get easily. Now go solo some Malta. Or Vanguard. All their nasty debuffs and controls don't work when they're never able to attack.
  20. For the build, there are some things that stick out to me. Disclaimer is that I tend to give build advice for tri-forms that tends to try to mold itself to what I've chosen to do on mine, which follows from how I play mine...

Basically, there are lots of 2-slotted things that I think work perfectly well with only 1 slot...Gravity Shield, Shadow Cloak, Stygian Return I would all take a slot out of.
*Do you really use Gravimetric Snare a lot? If not, that too.

To save money, the Celerity IO in Superspeed is kind of wasted, since you have Shadow Cloak available earlier, and the two do the same thing.

I'd recommend a -KB IO, put mine in one of my early shields as it's only slot.

Now, I'm guessing you want perma Eclipse. On my purpled shade, I have it within several seconds of safety - and I have ~88% global recharge and triple-slotted Hasten. My Eclipse is slotted with 2 Acc/Rech and 2 Res/Rech. So I'm guessing that your build at ~68% global and two-slotted hasten, there's a chance you won't have it perma.

To get there, you could slot Abs. Amazement in Gravitic Em or Inky - I haven't checked the price in a while, but if you can get the purple Hold set for Gravity Well, perhaps you could also get the Stun one for same/cheaper price. That puts you at ~78% or so...from there, perhaps finding a place for an LotG unique to fit, might require replacing a power though.
  21. I'd definitely take Charged Brawl, Havoc, and Shocking Grasp - all three hit fast and hard. I'm loving each one on my Fire/Elec blapper. Even Lightning Field I enjoy most of the time - huge radius, that thing has.

While Fire/Elec might pump out a whole lot more damage with Blaze and AoE's, I think I could learn to envy the more control that Elec/ gives. Well, by more control, I suppose I mean Short Circuit...Fire/Elec just doesn't seem to have the -recovery to stay safe. I can floor the endurance on bosses around me, but there's not reliable -recovery to keep them from attacking anymore. Maybe I should enhance Lightning Field with end mod...

Was just on a team which had two PBs with Nova and my new Warshade on. Dear lord, the carnage! The Carnage!
Ah, you would have loved the all-kheld superteam we had going a year or two ago. It was a ton of fun.

Thought I'd throw up my dream build of a solid WS build since there are some others posted. I came up with this last year or so, when purples were a lot cheaper, but now it'd be extremely expensive.

Capped ranged defense (in any form) and perma Eclipse (Eclipse is perma with ~88% global recharge)

The power choices and slotting is something I could easily work with, most others probably couldn't stand the sacrifices made.

  24. I was contemplating using them on my Fire/Elec. If I put them into Flares and Blaze, then every single one of my single target attacks will have a chance for end drain. Considering that the build is all about DPS and no survival, and there's a lack of -recovery to help the end drain, perhaps the procs could help keep down a baddie's endurance bar.

But most likely, it won't make much of a difference. I'm still curious though.
  25. Not bad, looks like a good build to start from.
