  1. Well, I appreciate the labor of love.

I'll likely keep my RS/GBst/GBlt chain for Hard Targets. It seems close enough to the IS chain either way that there's little point in quibbling over it.

I will probably put IS back in my build when the next set of ATOs comes out. I'll give up Pulsar with Absolute Amazement slotted; no biggie, almost never use it and the Set Bonuses are pretty much a Wash, plus I want the Heal and that little bit of S/L Resist the new Kheld Set provides, then I can lose Shining Shield and still be 85% resist to everything - love Perma Lightform
  2. Pool Powers being level-gated is fine - our AT powers are level gated. Being locked by other powers is stupid.

"Yay, I can fly now! - good thing I learned how by slamming people and making them do back flips." *shakes head*

If we didn't require all these unused prerequisite powers, I might actually pick oft-skipped AT powers... Heck, even Hand Clap might find the occasional use...

I wish they'd do away with pool powers locked behind others. It's cludgey and forces you to pick powers you'll never use. Our AT powers don't require other powers to unlock - why do pools? I think a level requirement is fine (ie, you have to be level 20 to get tier 3 Pool powers), but other than that, there's no good reason; certainly not a worry about over-poweredness - that ship has long since sailed...

Well you can't put a Purple Proc in both Blast & Bolt, can you? In any case, I'm not enough of a math wiz to know who's right. If IS is not useful for high end DPS, is it worth slotting at all, in your opinion (other than as a mule)?

    Extra Power Tray

Since I usually keep my Travel powers on the bottom bar, I do use the Number Keys (not Pad) for a few things...

*Number 2 turns on/off my Main Travel Power - convenient cuz it's right above the W.
*Number 1 turns on/off secondary or supplementary travel power, depending on toon (flyers it's often hover, others it's often sprint)
*Number 3 is boosted travel power, such as Afterburner, or Steam Jump for toons using Ninja Run as Travel Power

These keys being close to the movement keys q/w/e/s (which I use in tandem with mouse) works out pretty well for quick travel toggling, in or out of missions

for my PB, I also have a Bind for the Tab Key, to provide a target preference to Kheld Enemies (ie Voids). If those are near, they'll get targeted, otherwise the nearest foes do.
  7. With Perma-Light Form and Inner Light, the way I play my PB has changed a good bit. Every other AT; not that much, save that I incorporate Incarnated powers a good bit.

    Extra Power Tray

Question: do you guys think most players that are not MMs or Kheld Tri-forms still don't use the mouse for power activation that much? If not, I guess I would be sort of surprised. I would've thought the majority of game play for most players was via the mouse.

I know it is for me. I just can't mentally connect with keybinding all my powers for some reason. I don't feel like I'm terribly inefficient using a mouse for most power activations; maybe I am and just don't realize it haha.

I do make a few macros, esp. for my MMs, but otherwise the only keybind I use is one that for my space bar to toggle on Ninja Run when pressed down, and toggle on Combat Jumping when released.

Truthfully, it seems that if you have to resort to binds and macros to get the most out of certain ATs hints, then it hints at bad game design, at least to me *shrugs*
  9. I solo most of the time as well, and really wish there was a way to play thru TFs solo. I'd probably do some of the Shadow Shard TFs if I can solo them, but I don't have that many hours to do and once with a team.

I tend to enjoy teaming when I do it, but I prefer to team in a happenstance sort of way.
  10. My Thugs/Traps MM is all Tech. I went with Pyronic and just assumed he had a flame thrower/bomb thingy...
  11. Gotcha Rakeeb - Thanks Again. I like for a Single build to be sort of a 'generalist'. Able to take down single hard targets and also be formidable in teams/leagues; doesn't have to be the very best at either, so in that light I'll probably stick with my slotting for GB.

But the data you've provided is certainly going to make me reconsider Incandecsent Strike. I don't even have it on my current build, thinking the animations times just made it not worth having...

Hmmm... I'm out of respecs. Wait, or by one now...Hmmm...

  15. Wow, Rakeeb! An impressive summation of PB ST capabilities!

I currently go with the Bolt/Blast/Rad. Strike for my ST Chain, but I do have the slots and funds if I wanted to go with the IS High-Recharge Chain. Not sure that I want to...

Question: you said the IS Chain would require 20 slots to provide Maximum efficiency. By that, do you mean each of the 4 powers being 6-slotted (5 xtra slots per power = 20 slots)? I'm not sure I'd ever want to 6-slot gleaming bolt. Currently I just 4-slot it with 3 damage procs and the Ach.Heel Proc and call it a day.

Question 2: You have 5x Superior Procs listed. I'm assuming the Unbreakable Constraint Proc in IS, the Hecatomb in IS or RS, and the Apocalypse in Blast or Bolt - what other two Superiors are you talking about?
  16. Yes, it's not that hard these days...

I have a Peacebringer that can solo AVs and Rikti Pylons without much of a problem. Have taken a couple AVs down without using Lore Pets at all. Others I could have. Was ticking away at their Health just fine before finally just using the Lore Pets to speed it once I knew I could do it (pretty once half their health is gone)

I'll grant these AVs were set to +0, but still, PBs soloing AVs of any shift was laughable not that long ago. I believe she could take some down at +2 (maybe higher) - I'll experiment someday and see...

In any case, if PBs can do, it's a no-Brainer Meleers can.

If you have them, Veteran Attacks (I prefer Sands of Mu and Black Wand) can be used for full damage during the Rage crash. They are not effected by damage buffs/debuffs. Judgement works during crashes as well...
  18. DJ's 'pointless speculations' are rather awesome, even though we know timeline-wise it won't happen that way. Some of the ideas are really good though.

I especially like the idea of Incarnate Travel powers.

Maybe he could have pulled it off. You just never know. I would have bet the house that Tom Cruise was going to be awful as the Vampire Lestat, but he actually did pretty well.

I haven't been caring much about the enhancement boosters; just sorta putting them whereever I feel like (primarily boosting purples), but I never thought about it this way. Am I correct in thinking that 2 lvl50 IOs at +5 will get you to the ED cap? That they are every bit as good as 3 lvl 50 IOs?

Once I tried putting the FF Proc in several powers, and swore I was tripping myself.

For instance, a power would trigger it, and while it was *active* another power would trigger it, but the second instance would not fire because the first was still active. And then, sometimes another power would try to fire it, but could not, because the second one was still considered *active*, even though it didn't technically fire because the first one was active. Got it...?

I had about 5 powers, including 2 AoEs, with the FF Proc, and yet I just never seem to get that +recharge as much as I though I should, so I look in combat log, see that it was trying to fire here and there -- sure seems like the above happening over and over...

So... did I see it wrong? I'd be happy to be wrong and try it again.
  22. So, there doesn't seem to a definitive answer to which Assault is better for a Brute? I've already got t4 Radial, but will also get t4 core if it's better.
  23. My PB will be spamming Solar Flare with this

I don't have that problem with SoA's because I can make the costume and just ignore the SoA part. But I don't want to play a flying squid, or a dwarf thing.

The only reason to play one seems to be "because they are there".
Well, Human-Only Khelds can be quite effective, so that's an easy way out of the 'alien' thing. I've played a Human Only PB quite a bit, and I don't consider her a Kheld. She's a Hero with light-based powers. Easy Peasy...

*shrugs* I don't put much stock out how some extremist view ATs period. Reducing Brute DR to 85% cap was not world-ending. Castle thought it a *small* step towards putting ATs in their proper places relative to each other, and I thought he was right. Whoa, but the outcry over that piddly 5%...

So, where we are right now, my Tankers have been retired permanently until something happens to make them stand out more from my Brutes. We know that 'more damage' isn't likely to be that something.
