  1. Even so, you don't need Domination or a high magnitude to be able to do that because they recharge really quickly.

EDIT: Did the math, needing 11 tokens to get the full set (so 8 more to get the full tier 8 and my last tier 7 and then 3 for the set) Last I checked, one gets a free token once a month, as well as for every 1200 points spent.
Let's say it takes me a month to scrounge up the money, so one token is out of the way, leaving me with 10 more to go.
    10x1200=12,000 points.
At the costs shown at the market, I would have to spend 150.00 to get my armours. (This does not make The Firemoth a happy puppy.)
I've already dropped 100.00 in there, plus my subscription fees for each month...this is not making me feel like a VIP
This. If the whole deal with getting reward tokens for multi-month sub plans worked as it was intended then this wouldn't be a problem.

I'm pretty sure that GR is free with VIP now so they should still count.

    Costume parts for VIPs.

While this sounds good on paper, the reality of the situation is the system isn't set up to handle this. It would involve a pretty significant code-change (we investigated this when developing Freedom). The problem is "what happens when you are no longer VIP?" Currently the game does not remove illegal costume parts (as many players can attest to, still having costumes with illegal parts today).

The simple solution sounds like "let us keep them" but we'd like to avoid the future argument of "why do non-VIPs get to use VIP costumes?"
    Is this really an issue?

What currently happens if a VIP using the IDF, Alpha or Omega sets drops to Premium and doesn't bother purchasing them again?
  5. Costume pieces are the biggest deal breaker for me. I concur with an idea earlier on suggesting that they be made available outside these super packs to VIPs only.
  6. I believe the +Rech one would only work against the initial target. The sleep proc will be useless because it will give back to the pseudopet that creates the power.
  7. I don't think there's such a thing as positional resistance in the game.

I think if we, as customers, had to choose then we'd most likely prefer the ones that have no pre-colour tinting rather than pre-colour tinted. It should be common sense really. What has more use? A skirt that appears light blue when the colour palette is set to the whitest white or a skirt that appears white when it's set to the same white?

Textures can stay. Reflectivity can stay. Baked in colours and pre-tinting? No thanks.
  9. The first character I ever made, and my first to 50, was a Gravity/Kinetics Controller and whilst I haven't made any Gravity Controllers or anything to do with Kinetics since, I have made several Gravity Dominators. I've found that if I play anything that uses Gravity Control then I end up getting a sense of nostalgia from my first forays into Paragon. It's a warm, fuzzy feeling that doesn't care if it isn't the best - it's just fun.

Plant Control is kind of the same to a lesser extent too because my second 50 was a Plant/Storm Controller.
  10. If they were to go down this path then powers that should be affected but don't, like Volcanic Gasses, should be made to call upon versions that are. Powers that wouldn't, such as Ice Slick or Quicksand, could have versions that grant larger debuffs, or buffs in the case of Spirit Tree. Pets could also get more powers if summoned under Domination, like Gremlins could get Charged Bolts.

However, this could bring the AT back under the territory of 'Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde'. You would get around complaints about how certain sets benefit more than others, though.

It would be nice but unlikely to ever happen.

They probably meant that the debuffs end up fulfilling the same purpose as buffs.
  12. Except Ill/Rad is so powerful because of the debuffs. Dominators don't get those debuffs. Other sets like Mind and Plant trounce Illusion in terms of mez-ability. Sure, Assault means you can do more damage but if you count it solely based on that then they outclass Controllers.

What are the common Illusion secondaries?

    Cold Domination
    Radiation Emission
    Time Manipulation
    Sonic Resonance
    Trick Arrow
    Storm Summoning

    Why?

Because they either give -Resistance debuffs which enables PA to do more damage or they fill in the weakness of Illusion - a lack of control. Dominators don't get any of these options until Ancillaries where everything is just overpowered anyway.

I personally want Illusion because of how the set doesn't get neutered by Purple Triangles.

So they create cool looking costume pieces for NPC groups and don't think that we'd ever want them?

More costume pieces are always a good thing. I certainly want them. Both with the eyes and without the eyes.
  14. I think it could be something that creates a weaker version of yourself that uses Dark Assault and Dark Armour.
  15. Some places are nice and will price match if that happens. I've had it happen with pre-orders on Amazon. Like the price of a game went down £2 after release so I got a £2 refund.

This makes it difficult to fully utilize, meaning that even with the guaranteed knockback you still often end up scattering mobs, because you don't hit all of them. This also makes it very clunky to use with the other cone attack in the set, because TT only has HALF the range, and Umbral Torrent only has HALF the width. This means that more often that not you have to constantly reposition yourself just to make full use of your two AoE powers.

For Dominators I think this would only be exacerbated, because they spend a great deal of time in melee, meaning you're going to have to back off practically to maximum range everytime you want to use your damned AoE.
Most Assault sets and a couple of Control and Ancillary/Patron sets have at least one cone anyway and a lot of them have different ranges and arcs so I doubt it will be a problem.

Indeed. I really like the concept art. However, it does have a big "WIP" over it which means it's a work in progress.
  18. Life Drain is in Dark Assault according to the latest UStream.
  19. There's no point in getting your knickers in a twist. Just put it down to experience or lack thereof. Yes, Dark Control is coming but, even though I do not want it, Autumnal Control could still be something planned for the future as a paid set. Dark Control doesn't really fit the hint about it seeming like one thing but actually being another, and this seems to be much more like something that was planned for i21 (Dark Blast and Dark Manipulation for Blasters) but was pushed back because of timing and lack of resources. It's quite possible that Dark Assault had been sitting there ready for release but they were waiting for Dark Control to be released because it's completely new and would break the set parity that has been established for Dominators.

Well there's only Plant Control to go by really. What does Plant Control have that's unique? Carrion Creepers and possibly Spirit Tree. So a Dominator-centric set would have some source of reliable extra damage outside the T9 pet and some form of extra survivability. To me the only other set that comes close to this is Illusion Control with Phantom Army and Superior Invisibility.

If we look at Dark Control then Haunt fills the role of extra damage and the -To Hit debuffs provides survivability. If the T9 power is a persistent pet then I can see it being very Dominator friendly, not just because of Haunt and the debuffs but also because of the PBAoE Heart of Darkness, the location AoE Hold in Shadow Field and the easier application of Cones like Fearsome Stare and Living Shadows.

To me this is following the trend of added Control sets having the edge on Dominators rather than on Controllers. Dark Control will be the third set to follow this trend... The other two being the only other Control sets added to the game - Plant Control (i6) and Electric Control (i18).
  21. If Dark Control is getting new, inky effects for the powers will other Dark powersets be given at least an option for these effects too? I haven't seen the effects but from what I've read of them they don't sound like they'd match the effects of Dark Affinity and Dark Assault.
  22. I personally find the storylines absolutely ridiculously over the top... But I love it for that.
  23. I would like to believe that Pistols/Sword or Pistols/Martial Arts sets would go to Dominators for an Assault set but they'd probably go to Scrappers, Brutes and Tankers.
  24. Hopefully soon.

Don't forget that females will get a chain mail skirt and chain mail thigh-high stilettos!
  25. Sounds like a mistaken leak. Just like how the Gunslinger Costume Set is on the market but isn't actually available.
