  1. If I had the billions of inf to waste, I'm sure my Stalker could solo an AV. I messed around with various AV's in the Architect, and while I managed to slowly tick away at the AV's health bar, I didn't have enough endurance or defense to last for such a prolonged period of time. They smacked me down eventually, but I usually got them down to 3/4 of their HP before dying.

This was on a DB/EnA Stalker, btw.
  2. I would go with Option 1. If nothing drastic is changed and it's just a texture touch-up, I don't see why anybody would complain.

    Vehicles

you haven't even heard the worst part.

If we could attack with vehicles, the developers would have to create a new animation for every power in the game. Temporary powers, pool powers, accolades, you name it.

What's the scanner say about the animation level???

    IT'S OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAAND!
  4. Still, you have to admit that this would be a horrible experience for a new player who isn't very well adapted to the map or the mechanics. It would be an awful turn-off for me if I was a brand-new player.

"Where's the stupid exit? Do I have to kill myself to get out? That's just retarded!"

    Yeah, not fun.
  5. I would have to say The Hulk. Mainly for the fact that I turn into an indestructible, uncontrollable wild man and rampage through out the town whenever I get mad. That would suck when playing video games.

"SERIOUSLY?? How on earth do I beat this stupid boss!? What kind of insane person designed this?!?! I... hate.... *mutates* THIS GAME!!! HULK SMASH!!!"

And about a million other situations where I would get mad. Pretty much wrecks your day. Quite literally.
  6. A lot of people say things like 'Oh, this is a really easy suggestion!" and so on, even though in reality it would be nigh impossible and they just don't know it.

But, I am pretty much 99% sure that these suggestions could be implemented with little to no effort. I request one of two options.

    1) Add markers on the map for entrances and exits to the behavioral adjustment facility in Praetoria.

Or 2) Remove the invisible wall surrounding the place.

I got lost in there trying to get the exploration badge. First I had to wander around the entire outside of the facility looking for an entrance into the place, then when I got the badge, for some reason I couldn't go back out the way I came. Then I spent the next 20 minutes looking around the inside of the facility for an exit, which I eventually found, hidden away in some dark corner that was nearly impossible to locate.

It's a beginners trap. Imagine a new player wandering in there, then realizing there's no markers on the map for the exits. They have to try and wander around to find this one obscure exit after realizing the door they came in with is locked. While I was lost, I asked in broadcast where the exit was. You want to know what all of the responses were? "Use self-destruct and go to the hospital." Either that or let the enemy mobs kill me. I shouldn't be forced to kill myself just to exit this one section of Imperial City.

So, please, map markers would be very much appreciated. I really don't see how this could be difficult at all. You could remove the invisible wall, but I guess they want it to be a Alcatraz type place where security is really tight. Don't let new players get frustrated because they entered into a small spot in Imperial, then realized they can't get out.
  7. I've got the A-okay, so sign me up.

    Smash Zone: Inv/EnM Tanker.
  8. In my quest to acquire all the villain accolades, I must turn my eye towards the LRSF. The Marshall accolade unfortunately requires the Annihilator badge, which I don't have. As much as I would love to lead this myself, I have never done it before and I would therefore be a terrible leader.

Would there happen to be a person knowledgeable about this particular Strike Force who would be willing to lead one sometime soon? If somebody wants to, we can discuss dates and times and try to get one together. Thanks!
  9. Hey, mark me down as a maybe right now. Have to wait until Saturday for next weeks schedule.

If I do go I'm bringing my namesake Tanker to the party. Inv/EnM
  10. If Kinetics is so underpowered, then why are Fire/Kinetics controllers one of the most popular builds in the game?
  11. I've done a few tip missions. I had it happen once, and I was mad too, because the original text sounded very interesting. =P

At least now I know how to fix it should it happen again.

Blaster nukes, if they miss someone, leave the blaster completely drained and vulnerable. Should they be autohit? (Same for Defenders and Corruptors.) Of course, I hate it when my snipes miss, too (especially if it's because something happened to wander behind a pillar on the second tohit check,) and they're more in line with an AS. Should they be autohit? How about melee? How about controllers and doms? What about Masterminds?

Point being, nobody likes when powers miss, but "make them autohit" just - to me - needs a *lot* more justification than that.
From a RP'ers perspective, other powers can have a chance to miss. somebody could avoid that blaster nuke, because the blaster isn't completely invisible, he's at a range, or in a PBAoE's case, he's right there, and they could dodge it. Snipes, again, could also miss, since you're at a farther range, and your accuracy isn't perfect. I explained before that regular melee attacks could be parried, dodged, or blocked if you look at it like that.

but the thing with Assassin's strike is that it isn't thematic with a good villain. A stalker isn't your simple "SMASH AND KILL!" type of villain. A Stalker is more refined, has a certain elegance and subtlety with their kills. Stalkers rely on planned out strikes, and though they can scrap is out if they get caught, their real strength in taking people out without anybody noticing.

Again, the ninja and the knife situation. If I'm right behind someone, and they're completely oblivious to my presence, I power up with Build up, crouch down to ready my attack, there really isn't a possible way for you to miss unless the guy walks away as you're about to strike. But here, they don't usually walk around much, and stabbing my swords into a guy, yet still getting the "MISS!" message, really kills the mood and breaks my immersion. I really like to get in character when I play solo, but having my attack animation totally hit somebody but still miss really kills the character.

My main argument isn't that it's annoying, even though it totally is, it's more of a thematic reason. From an ingame view-point, I should not have missed. This is a point-blank strike from the shadows. It reminds me of those old scooby-doo villains who would hide behind a corner, then just swing their arms trying to catch shaggy or someone as they turn the corner, but end up just swinging at the air as they walk away. Last time I checked, I wasn't some petty scooby-doo villain whose sole purpose was to scare people away while I forged museum paintings.

I don't really see it needing more buffing (and yes, I do play stalkers. Yes, recently, too. Last pre-GR character was an Elec/Nin Stalker, now in the teens, and my first alignment change was my MA/Regen stalker.)
In return I ask "Why not change?" It's not like this attack is used in a regular attack chain, since it's got such a huge animation time and is interruptible.

What are you willing to give up to make it autohit? Damage? Give it a longer recharge? Massive END cost added?
Again, I don't see how this is game-breaking. If there's a specific requirement needed to make it auto-hit, like build up, hide, or a combination of the two, I don't see how that negates the balance.

    Quote:
Plus the point brought up above (making it autohit when hidden, and not when you aren't,) and don't forget PVP.
I wasn't thinking of PvP. Obviously it shouldn't change there, as Stalkers would once again become the "be-all, end-all" of PvP AT's.

And I'm not terrible knowledgeable about coding, but it doesn't seem like it would be outrageously difficult to implement. Like an "If X, then Y" equation for build up, which would be "If Build up, then auto-hit AS." That's only ten seconds of auto-hit for one attack which is only useful if hidden, so again, I don't see any balance issues in PvE. And, we've seen that such tech is possible with Kinetic melee's "Power Siphon" which enables all attacks to increase your damage for 20 seconds. So attaching an auto-hit to Assassin's Strike via build up could definitely be possible.
  14. Nothing is more annoying than when I'm playing my Stalker and I pick a target, hit build up, get Assassin's Strike ready aaand... MISS!!!

Seriously, this makes no sense at all. I'm invisible, my target is completely unaware of my presence, I take the time to plan out my strike, how on earth do I miss? I can see regular melee attacks missing, the opponent could dodge or block it from a RP'ers perspective. But a planned out attack where I specifically take time to aim my strike from the shadows should never miss. Ever. This is the Stalker job, he does this for a living, how do you possibly miss? That's like a ninja sneaking up behind someone, putting a knife to their throat, and then missing. Both from an Ingame and a RP'ers perspective, missing with Assassin's Strike makes no logical sense.

Suggestion: Make Assassin's Strike Auto-hit when hidden. This isn't game-breaking, it doesn't harm balance in anyway. When you miss an AS, your hidden status isn't broken, so all it does it make you sit there and wait for build up to recharge again, which is annoying.

You could also make it so that activating Build up makes Assassins strike auto-hit. Considering you're drastically raising your damage and accuracy for ten seconds, it would only make sense for Assassins Strike to have a guaranteed hit. Just something that prevents me from sitting there doing nothing for 45 seconds while I wait for BU to recharge, because I missed with an attack that should never have missed in the first place.

Some of you are probably like "Just pop a yellow." Yeah, I could do that, but there's still that 5% chance of missing. There shouldn't even be an Accuracy component to Assassins Strike; I shouldn't have to use inspirations to get a guaranteed hit on my signature power.

    Thoughts? Problems?
  15. The only difficulty setting I want is to fight Bosses while solo. That would make me happy. =D

To switch sides, you are looking for Tip Drops when you defeat enemies. For heroes to become villains you need to do Vigilante missions from the Tips, for Villains to become Heroes you need to do Rogue missions from the Tips
I have this bad feeling that we're going to see half-a-million posts asking this same thing. Or maybe just posts going "Durr, how do i swich sidz? *Derp*"

Other than that though, most of the other questions were pretty informative.
  17. Inspirations are my Stalkers power source. I normally solo at +1/x3 with him, but I know I probably couldn't do that without inspirations. Occasionally I'll be forced to drop it down for troublesome groups like Rikti or Cimerorans, but most of the time I'll just pop one luck or sturdy and go to town. I wouldn't be able to defeat the Nemesis army without a big tray of insights to help out (Lieutenants cast Vengeance on defeat). Malta requires some blues (duh) and enrage for those pesky robots.

People always say that lethal damage doesn't fare well in the late-game. That's when I say "That's what inspirations are for." =P
  18. I had an opportunity to take time off. Every week there's a calendar where you can request days off for next week. I almost did it too, but I kind of figured that despite how awesome Going Rogue is, more work means more money for playing this game. xD

Luckily I only got the night-shift for this whole week practically, so I get the whole start of the day to play GR. =D

That's weird... shouldn't it be the other way around?

Looking at Paragonwiki, every melee set for stalkers has had it's PBAoE attack swapped for the Assassin's Strike power, the only exception being spines; probably because Spine Burst is like a signature power for the set. Every stalker set has kept the cone power, however.

Minor oversight on the devs part, perhaps?
  20. Even though I didn't participate as much as others, I still loved watching everybody else give them a shot. Man, you guys can come up with hysterical captions!

I can hardly wait for Going Rogue, now you're giving me something else to wait for!?! This is so maddening!
  21. The most fun character for me to play is my namesake Inv/EM tanker. Just being able to jump into a huge group of enemies and stand there taking practically no damage at all is just so awesome. You really feel like a super-hero if your "Invulnerability" powerset actually makes you invulnerable. xD

Plus, this is probably just my opinion, EM's animations look awesome. Yeah, they're long, but they still look really cool. Huge charge-up and then *POW* right in the kisser!
  22. It's probably just me, but I'm a big stickler for the rules. Anytime I see a copyrighted costume or name, you can safely bet that I'm going to report it.

Of course, it's never smart to bring it to their attention. That just makes you seem like a punk who's all like "COPYRIGHT! COPYRIGHT! I'MMA REPORT YOU NAO!" which makes people mad at you for no good reason. I just silently report it and move on. Though I will admit, more often than not I end up adding the person as a friend just to see their name get Generic'd, silently laugh to myself, then go about my business.

Gotta keep things confidential, ya' know?
  23. What it all comes down to really is time. Right now with Going Rogue a little over two weeks left until release, they're concentrating all of their time on the expansion. We also know that they do plan future issues in advance. Who knows? They're probably already planning on Issue 20 content as we type this!

With new Martial Arts and Super Strength animations, we do know that the tech is there. It's only a matter of time until they decided to add more animations to the pool. Just wait until things calm down a bit, after Going Rogue's release and the new "incarnate system" everyone is buzzing about, you may just get your wish. =D

Of course, you shouldn't get your hopes too high yet... I'm just speculating on the future. I have no idea what's going to happen or what they're going to do...

    ... or do I?
  24. There's a Supergroup just for that called the Iron Eagles. Go look in the supergroup forums, the thread should still be on the first page.

Of course, I don't really know what's currently going on with them or if they are still around, but I thought I would let you know anyways. =P
  25. Yeah, war mace is strong, but where's the pretty?

Now a WM/EA, that's something else. So strong and pretty! It's so much fun crackin' some skulz jaw and fambly noes.

    brb nachos...
