hey wouldn't vehicles be cool (look at Batman) it could create interesting dynamics for fighting and for movement

It's also impossible. It's been suggested before. Multiple times. The Devs haves stated it's impossible, due to design and engine limitations.
That's all there is too it.

Sure, done properly they would be cool.

But you have to look at the following:
1) How would they handle strafing?
2) If you're inside a vehicle, how do you interect with the environment? Are your powers disabled? Are you targetable?
You mention "interesting dynamics for fighting", so I assume that you will have some interaction with the foes while inside your guyvas-mobile. .
3) Will it be usable inside of missions? Going to be hard to fit that Buick into an office. It was bad enough with Masterminds.
4) How are you going to handle terrain? Superspeed has enough limitations, and you at least get *some* jumping ability usable with it. Some zones are worse than others for this.

No vehicles. Tons of problems would come with them. Go play GTA if you want to drive.

I would like to have a perma jetpack. Much like the rocket avengers. I don't know if it was suggested before, but I wanna skip a travel power and just unlock a perma Jetpack. They have one for the V.I.P. badge but I can't use it anymore for some reason. You can buy some around town, but they wear off eventually. The safeguard one is cool and probably as close we gonna get to this that last a pretty good amount of time but as the others it wears off also if you only have that as your travel power.

if you can keep buying them, and im sure you can, you have a perma jetpack.

and a big HELL NO! to vehicles.

I would say yes, but as already stated, it is apparently impossible with the current game engine. I personally don't see why something like a motorcycle variant on the super run wouldn't be possible, but I am not one of the Devs.

They haven't said it's impossible--but they want it to be sensible; so you wouldn't be able to use your motorcycle indoors or while swimming etc, so it'd just wind up a 'worse' version of super speed.

The Devs have said if they're going to do it, they want to do it right; and right now they simply don't have the time to devote to doing vehicles 'right'.

Vehicle problem solved....

Okay, not really but I want one for my Invy/Axe tanker!

let alone a decent Super booster pack.

you haven't even heard the worst part.

If we could attack with vehicles, the developers would have to create a new animation for every power in the game. Temporary powers, pool powers, accolades, you name it.

What's the scanner say about the animation level???

IT'S OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAAND!

Arc ID: 373341 - To Save a Hero

Though not possible from a standpoint of adding into the game interactable vehicles, we have already seen the use of vehicles in other ways in the game. For instance the Sky Raiders Sky Skiffs are technically a vehicle that houses a NPC.

I think it would be intresting to add in back details for jet packs and such that people have wanted for a long time already. But i also think that it would be kinda cool to allow for new animations for travel powers. For instance, when you use Super Speed your animation rather then a running one like now could be the addition of a motor cycle that your sitting on, but it doesnt change the speed, jumping etc of the original power. Or a small helicopter for flight etc.

In those ways for thematic purposes it would be possible to do, just as it was possible to give flight alternate animations and have costume peices like jet boots and wings that react to the powers when activated. But anyone who actually wants to say be on that motorcycle and fight from it, i think is out of luck.

A few notes, though, in light of recent game developments...

A motorbike might be feasible - like Walk, it shuts down all your powers {skipping the animation issue}, bottoms out your fly and jump values {so there's no jumping/flying motorbikes silliness} and cranks up your run speed.

Certainly not combat-worthy, but hey, a vehicle.

I'd love to see an EAT of some sort that's vehicle based, functioning somewhat like Kheldians, only instead of Nova and Dwarf form, you get "forms" that are more like a Sky Skiff and maybe a low altitude hovertank of some sort (it solves the strafe issue). In either case, you have your first costume slot be what shows up "riding" in the vehicle, where you have no emotes or character animations (or at least very few, like maybe a salute or drinking coffee) if you're in "vehicle form."

Non-vehicle form could use a variation of VEAT power selection to give the human form access to a truncated list of different power pools, letting the character have access to slightly less versatile selections of existing pools, but giving them greater versatility overall since the pool selections would include all the basic AT forms (ranged offense, melee offense, buff/debuff, mez sets, defense sets, resistance sets). In essence, the human form would be like building your own custom AT from existing powersets, but each subset would lack the most spectacular powers from it's parent set. If you chose an attack subset for Primary, the attack subsets would be grey'd out in Secondary, with the same going for defensive subsets, mez subsets, and so on. Much like single-form khelds, a player could theoretically use this and skip the vehicle form powers to just build an AT with combinations that they want thematically but that aren't available in normal ATs (for instance, I want a few sword attacks for my Dark Defender other than just Iron Blade). The vehicle forms on the other hand, could use power customization to shift between generic and factional styles, allowing a character to be Longbow themed, Sky Raider themed, or more options as they become available, such as Praetorian Resistance or Loyalists, Primal Clockwork (instead of riding in the vehicles, they transform), or even stranger possibilities.

It wouldn't solve all vehicle desires, but it would quench some of the thirst, and offer great concept versatility for characters that isn't quite available currently.

Dear NCsoft, if you go through with this shutdown you've guaranteed you'll not see another dime from me on any project you put out, ever.

No vehicles. I don't even like the random cars and trucks that are in the city driving aimlessly. Plus have you noticed there are no gas stations in the city? What's up with that? Everyone just buys an electric car?

Now that's your first problem. You're assuming that the Sky Skiff and the person inside are two separate models. They're not.
The model inside a Sky Skiff cannot do any animations of it's own other than the flip you get when his vehicle explodes around him and landing face first on the floor. In fact, I'm fairly certain that the body left behind is actually spawned once the vehicle explodes and the '"vehicle and pilot" disappear.
A Sky Skiff is one whole entity, not a character model and a machine.

Bzzzt! Wrong.
Look, I'm sorry about coming off so harsh, son. But these aren't just things devs, or anyone can just magically make happen, not in the game's current engine at least.
It's not just a flight emote, there's the question of "where it comes from?", "what happens when you take it in water?", "How does the car strafe of jump?" (though I think Speed Racer answers that for us. Through AWESOME!), etc. etc.
Then, if we just make it like a power customization and so forth, there's this to consider:

Then there's scaling. City of offers us the ability to make some pretty damn big guys and gals with even bigger costume pieces that would make it impossible to render the character inside.

So, all this said, I think I'll point you to an old thread of mine, see if you can't get some ideas from there.
Personally, I'd love Vehicles, I think they could be done as a form shift power and- Well, I'll let you read the thread: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=127832

Also, another, later thread that narrowed down the concept: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=187868

They get their gas at the bus stops and from all those yellow oil barrels.

Random yellow drum barrels...bus stops and no buses...cars and no gas stations that drive in circles...random boxes on roof tops (on buildings with no roof access)...fire escapes that don't go all the way to the ground...office buildings that require you to use multiple elevators which are on the other side of the floor on every floor.

This whole city makes no ******* sense!

I'd still love a purchaseable Vanguard Temp power that worked like a shapeshift power...
Maybe an unlockable clicky with a huge recharge?

And instead of changing into a nova or dwarf?
Turned ya into a VG HVAS. Let you pilot it.
So much win..../wishful thinking

Possibly electric. I mean with all of those super-scientists creating cyborgs and armored fighting suits, surely there's a feasible powersource for a slow-moving vehicle in there.

Besides, with all that power going to the War Walls, what's a little bit diverted off to power the vehicles?
