Your MOST enjoyable toon

Hey guys, I've been making so many different alts ever since I came back to CoH about a month ago that I pretty much filled up 2 empty servers already. I've made some pretty fun toons but it still doesn't feel like I've made one that I really wanted to play. It's time I ask for some input from the community, please help!

Please post the most enjoyable toon that you've ever played. I know it's hard to narrow it down to one, but please do. I don't want your top 2, I don't want your top one from each archetype, I don't want your favorite villain and your favorite hero, just post one and I will make whichever one that sounds good to me.

Also, there is no "it depends on what your style of play is, each archetype and powersets function differently." I can play anything and fill in any role on a team. I may PvE or PvP or solo or team as well, it really doesn't matter. Just post your favorite :]

Thanks!

But that's just impossible! How am I supposed to be able to choose from my ~15 characters I liked enough to use hundreds of millions of inluence (and that's for each of them) to IO them out!?

This thread crops up pretty regularly

But anyway, I'll give my usual response - my DB/SR scrapper. I don't need to worry about anything other than my health bar, so I can just sit back, relax, kill stuff and look awesome doing so

Hands down, my warshade.

I can't say I've ever had this much fun for this much of the progression of a character. One of the biggest reasons is that every new power seemed to revolutionize the way I play.

The closest thing I can compare this to is how a controller gets a pet at level 32. At that point, everything changes. You're able to do things you never could before. But this happens with a warshade for almost every new power! Beyond that even, there were so many times where I thought "If I only had a few more slots!"

Difficult to answer. Depends on my mood.

Usually my Widow, who I have all "tricked-out". I just love jumping into groups of high level mobs and cutting them all down.

But when I want power, my bots/storm MM, who probably could smack around my widow. KBing all those mobs, using all the storm pets with my MM pets, soloing AVs/Heroes, just too much fun some nights.

My first DB/SR Terminator 13 (50 ) . Still working on getting all badges and TF's with him

My Illusion/Radiation Controller, for all the reasons in my Ill/Rad guide (in my sig). I just pulled him out recently (finished last night) to solo the Maria Jenkins Arc, just for fun. He is simply my favorite because he is not only very powerful, but very flexible. Great solo, on small teams and on large teams. He is always the first one I pull out whenever something new comes along, and I generally offer to use him on most TFs if I'm not looking for a badge on a particular character.

However, I have to say that a Warshade -- on teams and with a bunch of binds to make all the form switching easy -- is a heck of a lot of fun. I have also had a lot of fun with my softcapped Broadsword/Shield scrapper and my MA/SR scrapper. And my Ice/Ice Blaster.

LOCAL MAN! The most famous hero of all. There are more newspaper stories about me than anyone else. "Local Man wins Medal of Honor." "Local Man opens Animal Shelter." "Local Man Charged with..." (Um, forget about that one.)

I can probably list least enjoyable (Illusion/anything, bot/ff, bane, widow) faster than most - most enjoyable tends to vary depending on mood, team, etc.

At various times, it'll be a warshade, or my mind/fire, or plant/thorn, or fire/ss, or da/ss... or ss/da... or... Let's just leave it as "it varies." And I have 170-plus to choose from.

Mind/psy/soul dom with stealth+stealth io.

Control for solo/teamage. You can lock down anything short of a giant monster. Double/triple applications on most controls, and sleeps for unexpected aggro/aggro prevention/av's.

A third of mind/ does NOT suppress invis, so the stealth+stealth io can allow you to control from total anonymity. Ghosting is a breeze...if it CAN see through stealth? sleep/confuse it. problem solved.

/Psi has good soft control, and a broad enough selection of range/melee AoE. Oh, and drain psyche lets you out regen a regen scrapper, out recover someone buffed by empathy, and bypass fitness with ease.

Soul goes great with /psi. Why stop at draining psyhes? Drain souls too! dark obliteration for extra AoE, a third endurance tool if you really want it, armor to go with your regen. It's good. Did I meantion soul drain? /Psi is kind of middle of the road, damage-wise. Soul drain gives a good boost here.

The build has great flexibility, and you can guage your roles pretty well. The team gets hit hard? lock stuff down. The team steamrolls? blast/blap away!

The OP puts a severe restriction on his request, naming just a single toon. I'm going to ignore that.

Favorite squishies are either my Fire/Kin controller (spec'd for missions/TFs, not farming) or my Fire/Kin corruptor.

Favorite melee character is my SS/Shield brute.

Freedom: Blazing Larb, Fiery Fulcrum, Sardan Reborn, Arctic-Frenzy, Wasabi Sam, Mr Smashtastic.

I only did that because it would help me in deciding which toon to make. If I get 2-3 favorite toons from each person, then that would make it that much harder for me to decide. I know it's hard for some people to pick just one.

Not for me. You were very specific in asking for the most enjoyable character and I can tell you with utmost certainty that my warshade was far and away the most fun I've ever had on the road to 50.

Don't get me wrong, I love my tank and my mastermind and all my other characters. They're all powerful and fun in their own right, but nothing can match the fun I had leveling a warshade.

I agree, my Warshade was pretty fun to level with all the helpful binds and double Mire's :]. I would definitely make a WS if I didn't have one already.

I'm leaning heavily on the Ill/Rad side right now. I don't have any Illusion toons and I don't have any Radiation toons. After reading the Ill/Rad guy by Local_Man, I really want to make one now :]

My most enjoyable character is my DB/DA scrapper. I rolled him as an experiment, because I had heard how lousy Dark Armor was. He is now a nigh-unkillable death machine that I can't get enough of, and has been since the moment I slotted the Theft of Essence proc in Dark Regeneration. With the ToE proc, Dark Regeneration turns into an endurance recovery power in a crowd. By 35 I was jammed to the gills with IO sets granting me approximately a metric buttload of S/L defense, and some decent global recharge, too.

I waltz into a spawn fully stealthed, and the first thing the mobs notice is that lots of them are stunned and they are all getting chewed up by my damage aura. This realization comes at about the same time I start in on Sweep, and the next thing they know they are on their ***** while I am taking apart the toughest thing in the spawn, letting the LTs and minions suffer and die from Death Shroud exposure. Even running 8+ toggles, endurance is not an issue. Endurance drain resistance means sappers make angry posts on their forums about me needing a nerf. The whole time the flashy animations of Dual Blades mean I look damn good.

Overall I cannot recommend Dark Armor enough to anyone wanting a fun ride to 50 on a powerset that you don't see every day.

Really tough call. I think one of the issues is, "enjoyable" varies depending on my mood. Also on whether I want to group with people or solo.

My ice/ice Blaster by far. Love the control that /ice offers and does really good damage as well.

Fire/Rad/Psi controller. Lots of options, lost to do, great in any team and at any level.

Honorable mentions:
Gravity/Storm/Ice controller - Great fun, great sfx, lots of (controllable) chaos
fire/shield/fire scrapper - very survivable, very offensive, great sfx
robot/any/any mastermind - I love the lasers! ...and fire, and everything else... I have /FF, /Dark and /Storm)
Illusion/Empath controller - great dual role of buffs/heals and control. The "stalker" of the control/heal/buff sets. Great sfx from illusion....hmmm... I sense a theme.....

Hmm I tend to change daily. Hourly even. Solo or teamed? I'll factor in the lack of responsibility, go scrapper and say Claws/SR.

He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. Depends:

DM/SR scrap - soloing big game (MAIN)
Fire/shield scrap - teaming, farming, and plowing
db/sr (at very high rech >200% global) - killing fast and furiously

Seldom is making me think about a dom. Maybe a ???/fire/soul, but I get bored with range for some reason.

I have a variety of tanks apon request: WP/stone, inv/dm, stone/dm
Brute: stone/wp for *smash* purposes.
My newest are MA/regen scrap, psy/em blast

Cant wait for GR for KM and it may help with my dom concept.

Tough one. I build for situations as well as enjoyment. The one that covers both would be my Dual Pistol/Dark Corruptor. Fun as hell to play, but not my first choice to play.

If that makes sense.

I don't play my Mind Control/Bubbler much anymore because she's on Day Job duty (just one last set to go!) but she's very enjoyable to play...buffing people's defense, locking down spawns and so on, very fun. Oddly enough, I HATED her at the start and really considered unsubbing until a gaming friend gave me some slotting hints and power hints and that really helped.

Honorable mention to my Mind/Cold Controller cos Heat Loss is supa awesome.

I'm sure my Grav/TA will be my most enjoyable PvP toon...but it's unbearably painful soloing with it; teaming is great though!

Energy/Energy blaster, built for keeping things at range and not getting hit by ranged attacks. Especially after the Defiance changes, so that I can still keep batting things around while mezzed. Always fun, solo or teamed.
