  1. This doesn't help in the short term, but...

There is a thought that an upcoming costume booster to come out will be steampunk themed. This is based upon a hint which was given a few months back, so who knows when/if it will pan out. Also, they seem to have hinted that some existing NPC costume pieces might come out way eventually, thought I am not sure any of the Nemesis steam-punk items would be suitable to be adapted to player character models.

I used to have a button, but i don't like the way macro buttons look on my tray, so I tend to avoid them. If i could use a lowercase alpha as my button then I probably would have stuck with macros (though the client doesn't seem to support Greek letters).
  3. Go forth and conquer.

(bind saves me so much mindless clicking)
  4. I contacted support with much (but not all) of the requested information and had the issue resolved within several hours. I wouldn't wait for NCsoft to magically resolve this on their end, just take a few minutes to track down as much of the info as you can from your inbox and contact support.

Look at Lineage 1 and Lineage 2. EQ2 probably is off the bottom of the list.

MMO sequels are a poor idea.
  6. Freemium models tend to expect even subscribing players to pay up for in game advantages. Such trends tend to disappoint and discourage long-time players who are used to getting everything just by paying their monthly fee.

Fortunately, Paragon Studios has consistently dismissed the free to play questions in the press, citing their desire to accommodate their existing community. I, for one, hope this continues.

Currently, I think CoH has the best possible payment model for sustaining itself: monthly fee + aesthetic and service micro-transactions.
  7. I wish a lot of the older TFs would just move to Ouro so that the signatures could be more involved with interesting plot lines. Bub-bye States.
  8. It would be nice if you got an accolade for, say, unlocking a given thing (boost accolade, costume options, etc.) on say 5 characters which would then grant it to all of your characters. Maybe that specific suggestion would irk badgers, but something similar would be great.

Hopefully when they do that they will offer a recipe for converting from one tree to another.

Well, I am sure I entered mine once upon a time and I think I know the answer, but I am not sure. Plus, if I get the caps wrong, I'm out of luck. Good thing this was implemented during the loyalty period . . .
  11. I have a similar problem. My security question which I registered, I dunno, 6 years ago was based upon an inside jokes. I am afraid to attempt to answer it in case I get it wrong and, then, get locked out of my account. Any thoughts on how to go about this?
  12. I didn't read the whole thread, but do any people think that the i20 image is a bit odd? Any chance customizable travel powers might be waiting in the wings with the fly-poses featured? Otherwise, that image makes for terrible preview material.

    No, just no.

I don't think that every TF will eventually be a WST. I think it will, in fact, be only be parallel redside/bluside TFs. Basically, just the TFs which share a level range with SFs (or co-op options). That way there is not (even more) complaining redside about their SF deficiencies.

They are not multiplying by body types, but they are counting textures.
  15. I heartily agree with the dislike of Speed TFs. If I join a team, I never complain (since it is the team organizer's choice) but when I form a TF, I always announce my intentions for it to be a normal/shard/nonspeed/etc. run. It can take a little longer to form, but the good company is usually worth it.

Also, there is nothing more annoying than when someone joins assuming that a TF will be a speed run, and doesn't have time for the full version ... usually this tidbit is not learned until after a TF has already begun.

If anyone on Pinnacle likes regular access to non-Speed runs, feel free to global friend @sermon.

The initial version of the incarnate stuff made speed runs less appealing due to the importance of shard drops, but sadly the WST has restored that fervor. I am a bit anxious with this weeks WST that, without the prospect of shard or purple drops, there will be increased pressure to skip missions. Oh well.

With the number as is reported, the soloer has a much lower chance of using the conversion option than a task force farmer. Also, in a few weeks, many characters will have more notices than they need but too few shards.
  17. I would prefer a lower cost with a cooldown. Maybe 24 incarnate salvage + 100 million inf on a 1 week cooldown.

As is, this will be more useful to those who run TFs than those who don't.

    2010 4Q earnings

I think people will be taking a critical eye to the Lotro model after not too long. Also, it would be interesting to see what the community of Lotro players who pre-existed Lotro think about the model now and in the future.

I much prefer a paying model (however I would love something like SoE's station pass, even though I am not sure NCsoft's other offerings would hold any attention). If sub fees have to be supplemented by optional/cosmetic microtransactions and expansions, so be it!
  19. The 60 doesn't represent copying across body shapes. There at a lot of minor options available on the heads, such as 3 types of minotaur horns and 4 variations on the size of the Minotaur nose-ring.

[edit: flees and beastly rage should both be fun to use in various contexts]
  20. I think Dominators really need a natural attack set. One could probably be made with existing powers such as a mix of martial arts, shuriken attacks, and maybe caltrops.

Maybe Glacia's rescue speech somehow went missing and they had to re-add it.

They know not to take away powers. We go nuts. If they have something to add, a 5th power in the pools would suffice.

Is everyone getting a 100 mb download after the hot fix?

Things must have been thoroughly scorched . . .

And with every issue I'm expecting them to bring out new or revamped power pools, because that game mechanic is totally FUBARed right now.
So you expected i19.5 to be something completely different than it was ever intended or announced to be, and now you are blaming the people who make the game and arguing against those who are happy to play what they were told they were getting.

This was not an issue release.
