I guess it changed. I haven't had to abandon a mission in a while.
  2. If you just want to reset your current mission so you can re-run it, first exit the mission. Then from your Missions window, select a different mission. You will get a pop up asking to confirm that you want to abandon the current mission. You can also do this by going back to your Contact and selecting Abandon Mission from his window.

If the mission is too tough and you just want to get pass it, then you will need to go talk to your contact. In addition to the Abandon Mission selection, there will also be a Complete Mission selection. Completing a mission gives you the mission complete Inf and XP rewards and badge or whatever that comes with the mission. Note, it won't give you any of the Inf and XP from kills in the mission. There's a 3 day cool down between Complete Missions (per character). Note: certain missions can't be completed this way.

As I recall it, your Contact's relationship bar has 2 marks. After doing 2-4 missions, depending on if any were multi-part missions, you will reach the first mark. This unlocks the Contact's Insp and the Power-10 set of enhancencemant store, so he can start gouging you. After doing 1 long story arc or a lot of filler or street hunt missions, you will reach the 2nd mark which is usually 2/3rds along the relationship bar for most Contacts (not half way). At this point the Contact will give you their cell number and open the rest of his enhancements store, so buffer and debuffers can finally buy their DOs and SOs 5 levels after the DPS characters upgraded their slots. If you didn't want to be gouged, you can wait 10 levels before the brick and mortar stores would stock the non-Power-10 enhancements.
  4. Since you're losing 50% of your Inf earnings potential, it'll take you longer to achieve your Inf badges.

Really? A dimensional warp is just hanging out on the sidewalk & there are a couple of dudes watching it and that's it? At least the DA entrance has its own planter box and circle of chanting acolytes.
Firebase Zulu access at Portal Corps was a big sandbagged security checkpoint, now I can get there from downtown Talos?

    Hurmm.

Portal Corps doesn't bug me at all- those portals are very explicitly and massively anchored in the landscape of the game world. They have a physical reality these newfangled portals lack.

I'm usually pretty laissez faire about this stuff, generally happy to suspend my disbelief in whatever way the game requires to speed my path to the bashing enemies over the head segment of my session, but for some reason these things bug me.
That's similar to my feelings about the Tunnel Portals. However, I see it as a systematic problem along the lines of how the Arachnos Helicopter pads were laid out in the red side zones, especially back when they were originally only transporting you to a single destination. That is, except for the Cap<-->Mercy one, the Helicopters were in the same vicinity as a Ferry, so what value was there in using them? And now that they've been upgraded to transport you to all the same places as the Ferries? Big Whoop! Although the new one 2/3rds of the way up the Nerva map is nice--if I remember to use it!

With these new Tunnel Portals, they could have made them more useful by placing them where they'd make travel more convenient when you're at the other side of the zone from a Train station or Ferry. As it is, all the non-mission activities that have been added to game of late seem to be clustering together which is a disservice to the efforts of the original zone designers to make all corners of the zone interesting. The Devs should have spread out the travel options to encourage players to go to these less beaten paths of the zone. I'm sure even long time Vets still have some uncleared Fog of War on their maps on their old characters (assuming you didn't use Reveal).

Yeah, one of my Bases has a bugged Insp storage bin with a phantom item in it. When I try to fill it up, it maxes out at 99. When I "empty" it out, I can't delete it.

All 3 tiers of henchmen will be raised to just -1 of me?
  8. I usually upgrade to level 34-35 Set IOs once I reach 32-33. By then most of my important powers have at least 4 slots, so I'm not taking a significant hit in performance numbers by switching to the multi-attribute Set IOs if I'm working on set bonuses. By going to Set IOs at this point, I get to enjoy these set bonuses for 18 or so levels as I'm developing my character. Even if you're not aiming for set bonuses, you'd do way better on straight attribute numbers. So really, why endure 50 levels of mediocrity when you can be better than average now?

Note: new powers picked up after the mid-30s are slotted with appropriate level Set IOs.

Have you made your own personal SG? If not, make one and add the Base too. Ask someone to help you invite some of your alts to this personal SG so you can get the Prestige Bonuses. Put in a Workshop room and add an enhancement storage bin. As you continue to play, craft the IOs that you pick up and put them away in your bin. It doesn't matter what they are, you're doing this so you can get some familiarity with handling the IO enhancements in a relaxed environment. You can see their stats and set bonuses and compare between Sets. If you have the time and don't mind the tedium, you can hang out at the Market and put in low ball bids on every IO in the ranges you're interested in and you might get very lucky to snag several IOs that someone was dumping.

    Edit:
If you have an enhancement storage bin now, what is your global name? I've got a bunch of Set IO pieces that I have no need for and doesn't sell for crap that I'll be glad to pass on to you to play with.
  12. So the next question is: is it beneficial enough to risk staying in melee to use the EMP from the crash or will your survival instinct compel you to retreat once you see the icon start to blink?

I don't turn them off because I learned from a post by Samuel_Tow that even if they don't display, the invisible window they're in still exists and will annoying come to the fore front and block other things you might have placed in that area.

  15. For the time being, I've been dealing with the issue by spamming my marco for the passive stance along with my macro for stay, or goto in case they had already run off.

  17. I believe the rule of thumb is to never leave anything in in-game email that you're not willing to lose.

A couple of times in the past when the email server crashed and emails were wiped (for some people), you were able to petition for a GM to recover your stuff. However, the GMs knew when those occured (date and time) to search their back ups. They still asked for exactly what was lost (I guess so they don't dup things for just anyone who complains).

Are costume recipes considered part of the Invention system? If so, these guys look like Freebie players (white names), then they can't craft the wings.
  19. Does anyone still farm Kora Fruit for the medium Inps?
  20. Here's a recent thread from another returning player: Returning Player Diary that contains a lot of tips.
  21. In the Combat Attributes window, there's a relatively new stat called "Level Shift" in the Base Category. It'll show +1 if you're 50+1. The other 2 shifts only show if you're in an Incarnate Trial or DA because they're only applicable in Incarnate content.
  22. OK. The last 2 videos are up.
