  1. As I understand aggro, once a team mates initiates aggro, everyone on the team goes on all of the affected enemies' aggro list. Even if you were in another room, you'll still be added to the aggro list, but with a lesser threat level than the aggro'er.

If, for example, a tank was running around the room trying to herd, all affect enemies will aggro on him (ie he's at the top of their aggro list). However, with the aggro cap, only 17 will retain interest in him to follow. As the individual enemies of the initial 17 are being defeated, the other aggro'ed enemies start to perk up and move to the aggro'er (ie he's still at the top of their aggro list).

You know how that unless an enemy was directly taunted or attacked, their attention span on targets is fleeting. So during this period of aggro cap, depending on line of sight, the other aggro'ed enemies may switch their interest to someone else on the team. Even though you may be invisible and passive during the fight, you're still on their aggro list and they are aware of you. If the enemy hadn't been attacked or taunted yet, you've got even threat level with almost everyone else on your team, so you're fair game.

I'd suggest hanging out behind someone with a damage aura or tossing around a lot of AOEs.

    Lag

Maybe you're just experiencing heavy lag during the Zombiepocolyspes? I had to bail on a Trick or Treat team in Peregrine last night when a Zombie invasion started up and ramped up the rubberbanding. I went to Bricks and joined a GM hunt and it was fine there.

    Christmas Gift

I would like that they freeze all the lakes again. We haven't seen that since the first Winter Event.
  4. Have you started using IOs yet for your characters? Either Commons/Generics or named Sets IOs. If not, you should at least look into them. Once you get an idea of which IOs you, personally, would like to have and use, then you will have a good idea of what is probably in demand.

    Simple examples:

Common/Generic IOs - look at your current build. You will notice that you use a load of Accuracies, Damages, Recharges, and Endurance Reduction. Along with a few Endurance Modifications and Heals. And for the archetypes with armors, Defense and Damage Resistances. Level 30+ IOs are better than SOs. If you craft-to-sell these, there will always be buyers. Even though there are already a lot of players working these, you can be confident that you can always sell the ones you put up if you price your's accordingly. Once you memorize the recipes, you can craft very cheaply (without needing to have a recipe on hand ) for a direct increase in profits.

Named Set IOs - the same idea as Common IOs. Anything that includes Accuracy, Damage, Recharge and Endurance Reduction in it will sell. What makes one piece more popular than the next is the Set Bonus that comes with that Set. Again, what makes a desirable Set Bonus? Answer: if it includes +acc, +rech, +def, and to a slightly lesser extent, +recov, +dam. You can be confident that any pieces of a Set with those Set Bonuses will move. For Set IOs, the extremely popular pieces (that sell for 7 digits or more ) will sell at pretty much any level. However, for the more mundane ones (that only sell for 6 digits ), level 50 seems to be where it's at. I personally don't slot level 50s, but everyone else seems to, so that's where I go to get their Inf.
  5. I have a Stealth IOs in Sprint on most of my characters and it combines readily with every power with a stealth aspect for effective invisibility. These include:

    Shadow Fall
    Steamy Mist
    Cloaking Device
    Concealment: Stealth
    Super Speed
    Shadow Cloak (warshade)

And by the way, you're missing names for the summoned Traps gadgets.
  7. Did you try what I added in my earlier post?

If all else fails, brute force it. Go to Menu-->Options-->General tab-->(scroll all the way down)->Chat. You will see some blue buttons. One of them is "Load from Default". Click it
  8. Is the chat Tab for the lower section all the way down and imposing on the chat input line? You can left-click and drag the chat Tab to move it up. You can also right click on the chat Tab and select "Move to Top". Followed by right click and selecting "Move to Bottom" to set up the split on the chat window again.

    Shard TF's

The average time for completion on the Shard TFs have decreased significantly from the very early days with the availability multiple methods of travel. Especially for those missions back to Paragon City.

    - Ouroborus Portal
    - Base Teleport (vet reward & day job)
    - Pocket D teleport (booster pack)
    - Market Teleport (day job & recipe)
    - Mission Teleport (booster pack)
    - Assemble the Team (vet reward)
    - purchasable Jet Packs

Dr Q can be done at a leisurely pace in 5.5 hours on average (my experience). Very competent teams with high damage AOEs and a Kinetics can cut that down to 3.5 hours. I've heard dedicated speed runners can shave it down to 2 hours, but I've never been on one.

However, if Ray_Ray wants to do Dr Q with a 3 man team, it's going to take some time. As I understand it, the spawn size doesn't scale down anymore. It is fixed for an 8 man team. And even con Rularuu can hose you easily, especially if you don't have mez protection. Ray_Ray's team may need to do a lot of pulling. By the way, Ray_Ray, have you and your friends spent any time doing regular Shard missions? Can you guys handle large Rularuu groups? What are your powersets?

    Shard TF's

Dr Q doesn't have any AVs at the end, but the last few missions require a simultaneous 4-clicks. So you will need at least one extra person that you can call on to rejoin you guys after about 3 hours into it.

    Edit:
Now that I think about it, 3 hours may be optimistic for a group of 3. It's do-able with a full team with lots of high damage AOEs to get to this point at 3 hours. As I recall, the last time I did Dr Q that started out full, but steadily lost team mates as time went on, we struggled through it with 4 and finished it after 8 hours. Thus it will depend on how you and your friends can handle full sized spawns, most of whom can cast a hold.
  11. I've seen their website = http://www.superherosupplies.com/ some years ago. And it looks like it's been significantly expanded since then. Some of the items actually looks purchasable with working ecommerce functions and all. Back then it was just a flat page and obviously bogus. Still clever, though.
  12. Last year, while cleaning my basement, I found a CompuAdd catalog stuffed in a box. It was probably from the very early '90s, just before it went out of business. I was looking into buying a PC-compatible at the time and was comparing them with Dell and Gateway. As the (uncited) Wikipedia article mentions, CompuAdd did seem to have a better rep than Dell at the time. The prices in the catalog were like these ads. Everything was so mind numbingly expensive back then that nowadays everything looks so damn cheap in comparison.
  13. You may want to craft up a few of the temp power grenades to use if you get swarmed and need a breather.

Some of the day job badges and accolades are nice to have too.
  14. You need to look at the info for the power you want to slot. It will tell you what attributes categories (for Set IO enhancements) it will accept. Then you need to get an appropriate Set IO that fits that particular attribute category.

Here's an illustration I put together for past post. In this example, the poster was asking about using a Hold type Set IO.

I use it on my Wisp and it seems to effective for approaches and run throughs. Of course, they'll still get killed with the first good AOE.
  16. I saw player = Vulpine (I think that was the name) during the PERC Costume Contest in Pocket D on Triumph over the weekend. She passed the first screening. Unfortunately, I didn't make the cut, so I didn't hang around to see how she did.
  17. If you haven't yet, you may want to consider picking up Grant Invis from the Concealment pool to cover up the FF Gen so it doesn't give you away when you go in to set up.
  18. You can play with one of the build planners in the meantime.

This was the first thing that came to mind while I was reading this thread. Just have Kora Fruit spawn out in the Shadow Shard zone. It's unlikely that you'll get a sudden rush of players farming them, but maybe the Shard will get some more traffic. And medium Insps should sell readily enough in the Market. The only downside is limited personal inventory even if you use email.

Affects the O-portal in Ouro as well, zoom out and it will constantly re-spawn, zoom in and it functions properly.
All the Base Portals and the permanent O-portal at Ouroborus has been visually buggy for several months now for me.

    NY Comic Con

Alright. I've finally been able to upload my videos from the NY Comic Con panel. Same info as James_Joyce, of course, but I was trying to give equal time between the Devs and the slide show. You can see Jesse do his hand wavings.

Unfortunately, the video taken with my new camera came out rather dark. I don't really know why, I was using default settings. This was my first time shooting video with it indoors.

Note: You might notice Part 2 at around 4:42 has a hiccup. That was due to my recording stopping spontaneously. It rather shocked me and I missed 2-3 sentences from Melissa before I started it up again. I was under the impression that the camera could record indefinitely until it filled the memory card, so when it stopped I was struck wondering how it could be full already and that I would need several minutes to take apart my monopod to change out the memory card. Luckily, it was able to continue recording when I finally thought to give it a try. Well, more lucky that I noticed it flicker when it stopped otherwise I could have lost more time.

And, I apologize for cutting the videos up into 6 parts. I had the hardest time getting them small enough for YouTube not to choke on 'em. It was a pain waiting 2 hours per upload attempt before seeing that it failed.

    Anyway, enjoy:

    Part 1
    Part 2
    Part 3
    Part 4
    Part 5
    Part 6

Hey, were you the one I was sitting next to outside the panel room? You can see my back (blue shirt) in James_Joyce's videos #3 & 4.

I'm still working on getting my videos uploaded. It's my first time playing with them and I'm having a hard time getting them small enough for YouTube not to choke.

  23. What time did they show the trailer? I got there at about 7:30, but there were no activities going on other than the people trying out Guild Wars 2 at the lower level. I saw Avatea at the swag corner and she said the Devs were downstairs, but I wasn't able to spot them. I was disappointed that there weren't any COH T-shirts. In fact, COH swag was noticeably lacking compared to the Lineage II and AION stuff. I only stayed for about 20 mins, though, since my legs were, and still are, killing me from walking around the Con all afternoon.

Seriously, don't worry about it. The fact that it can be sold at a high, even "insane", mark up on a regular basis just means that there are many players with enough Inf to pay it and not be bothered about the amount. You're most likely selling to another marketeer or farmer who's outfitting their latest alt. They have the Inf and they want to spend it. Indulge their generosity and take their Inf.

A frugal player would have learned to buy the recipe and craft it themselves. If the recipe itself was expensive, I'm sure they would be more than willing to try to bid low and wait it out for a while. Or use one of the other methods the Devs implemented to enable them to attain the recipe without spending Inf, like Reward Merits, AE Tickets, and Hero/Villain Merits. Or, they can learn to work the Market too.
