I've seen their website = http://www.superherosupplies.com/ some years ago. And it looks like it's been significantly expanded since then. Some of the items actually looks purchasable with working ecommerce functions and all. Back then it was just a flat page and obviously bogus. Still clever, though.

This gets rediscovered every year by someone.

I think the first time someone posted about it was back in 2005 or 2006.

Each 826 National store is themed differently.

826 Valencia is a Pirate Supply Store.
826 LA is the Echo Park Time Travel Mart.
826 Chicago is The Boring Store (actually a spy store).
826 Seattle is the Greenwood Space Travel Supply Company.
826 Michigan is the Liberty Street Robot Repair and Supply.
826 Boston is the Greater Boston Bigfoot Research Institute.

Not all of them are as elaborate as the Brooklyn store (826 NYC).

This is down the street from my apartment. Been there for years now. It looks cool, but it's just a front to help kids read and write... pfffffft!
