That's different. i never even considered asking her to put me on ignore. i have it on good authority that a number of other forum members have done quite the opposite. Less muss and fuss that way without requiring the cooperation of the person who apparently takes pleasure in annoying you.

i thought it was still possible to use capes with the Wedding Pack tuxedo jacket. That's two cape systems, i think.

The only thing I'm unsure of whether it also helps against attacks that are truly of type Untyped that no defense exists for.
It should. It's modifying the attacker's tohit value. If the attack requires a tohit roll then using a tohit debuff will lower the attack's chance to hit by the final debuff value that is applied. So if the enemy's tohit is normally 50% and the final (after rank, con, and all other modifiers are applied) debuffed value is 45% then they have a lower chance to hit regardless of whether or not you have defense.

That reminds me: the next Hami raid i go to i'm going to tag Hami and his Mitos with my Widow's Smoke Grenade and use a power analyzer on them.

    Here you go then.

Can someone explain to me two things, here (and I'll be very impressed if a redname clarifies this):

    1) How did this get past the Quality Control stage of the design process?
    2) What in the NPC skeleton would cause the "tent" so to speak?

Actually it's the civilian disguise of Priapus, God of Virility. He transforms into his godly form by slamming his 'staff' against the ground and calling out, "I. Am. SORRRRE!"

There was one time decades ago when a comic book writer witnessed Priapus transforming with a bad head cold. With his congestion it sounded like "I. AM. THORRRR!" And thus the writer was inspired.

My question to you all is there any advice of what would be good pieces to monitor?

I decided on salvage so I won't have to worry about all the level ranges but I'm not 100% sure on what pieces qualify as high, medium and low demand. Any suggestions on what to track would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank You,

Just a thought, but level range is significant in salvage. Salvage drops in three bands of levels. Most of the common salvage in the lowest level band tends to be much lower priced than the upper two. (As in thousands for sale and no bids with a going rate of whatever you feel like paying.)

That'll do it. ID does not protect against as many mez types as the toggle, and is weaker as well.

Yeah, i'd already started to get that impression when i responded in this thread earlier. i somehow thought that highlighting and responding to one of the irrational assertions in isolation might make it's absurdity more apparent. The response made it clear why that wasn't true when he went off into a bizarre tangent only marginally related to the actual issue.

    *sighs*

i blame innate neural structures. Most humans will tend to believe whatever they were taught when young even when it contradicts observable facts. Some people can never look past ingrained beliefs no matter how much the evidence says otherwise, and even those who have learned to reason past conditioned attitudes still find themselves falling for them if they don't pay attention. It seems to be pretty much an innate cognitive shortcut that doesn't serve modern humans as well as it did earlier.

Also, there's some fascinating experiments that have been done regarding markets and rewards using primates that suggest that it's inherent in all primates (at the least) and explains why markets cannot be based on the assumption that all participants are rational actors.

i'm pretty sure the Night Widow Smoke Grenade is autohit for both aspects of the power, as well as having an unresistable tohit debuff. It can't be slotted for accuracy and also appears to work the same in both PvE and PvP.

Guilty as charged. i have one alt who has "say Cutscenes are nature's way of telling you that you're about to get your *** kicked." bound to the 'K' key. (i'm not sure that counts as well done, but it's amused me.)

The official forums here are the best of any MMO i've been to. While i've never subscribed to any other MMOs i've been in the betas of a few and followed their forums for a bit afterwards, as well as reading a bit on other game forums that friends play. CoH has hands down the friendliest and most helpful forum community i've ever seen. That's not to say that some of us (like me) aren't rude and snarky on occasion, but it's a rarity and generally requires the other party initiate any hostilities.

Actually, the forum this reminds me of most is when i used to frequent the Hero Games (pen and paper RPGs) forums a bit over a decade ago. The game developers and players were friendly and communicative with both parties having polite discussions about game mechanics and balance.

However, the forums censorware was amusing in that we couldn't discuss Batman's first sidekick by name despite the company's flagship RPG being superhero themed. (In addition to several other words that are generally considered innocuous in standard English. ) That did eventually get corrected.

So, yeah, CoX forums community... still one of the best (if not THE best) in the industry. Admittedly this is on the internet, so it's not like the bar is set all that high.

  18. Look for Zombie Man's guide to Incarnates or look in the cohtitan wiki.

They just need to be closer to the center of the blast radius. A metre or two should do it.

While it's nice, you do realize it means creating a new set of character animations for each claw attack? At least in this case it would be less than doing staff combat since it should only be a minor change to existing animations. Of course it does mean tying costume and powers animations together... And creating all new poly models for the hands to permit individual fingers with animations... And other coding requirements i haven't listed since i don't actually know the details about the game engine.

Still, less work than staves, but probably more work than some new powersets.

Basically it's non-trivial, which is probably why the Devs haven't added finger claws despite it being requested since launch.
