Actually, i like most of the lower level TFs. i guess it helps that all of my builds are made with an eye towards being functional at all levels as far as power selection goes. The Shadow Shard TFs on the other hand take the most annoying aspects of Numina and Citadel, namely hunts in multiple areas and repetitive maps, and multiply the annoyance by ten.
To be honest though i generally prefer the various Strike Forces, but that may be because i don't run them as often. -

So... i just have to ask... white dwarf, neutron star, or black hole?

Quote:((No problem.))((I hope it's alright that I post this here in this forum as well, as I see a lot of "Looking for RP Supergroup" posts that are unanswered here. Thinking that there are folks looking for supergroups here, I thought to post a little information in this forum as well.
Thanks!))
i like the premise of the SG, and the arrival of the new beastly pack makes this a good time to recruit.
i even have a couple alts that would fit the theme, but the best one for it is currently a villain. -

i remember you!
Welcome back to the game.
Also, The Game. -
Quote:The players who are best at helping with technical issues like that are more frequently found in the Technical Issues & Bugs section of the forums. i'd suggest asking there as well.I guess I may as well give this a go here and ask. I currently have 2 pc's and my TV for netflix viewing via an xbox going through a router.
I have have played EQ, DCU Online, WoW, and few other online games with no problems at all. City of Heroes though has intermittent Map Server Disconnects which cause all 3 devices connected through the router to lose network connectivity for about 2 minutes. Then everything works fine.
I have set the port forwarding on the router for the ports listed and that did not fix anything. I put the network cable straight to the PC, reset the modem so the main PC gets the IP address and then I can stay on CoH for hours with no problem. So.. I know its the router and CoH not being happy working together. If it was not for the fact that just about any other mmo works like a charm I would have thought it was the router.
What else could I possibly be missing besides forwarding ports 2104, 2106, 6994 and 7000-7100? -

Quote:i thought that flight speed enhancements in Group Fly only enhanced the owner's flight speed. A rather bad thing since the owner starts out flying faster than the rest of the team.Isn't a big part of the reason for the tohit debuff because Group Fly ignores travel suppression [kind of by necessity]?
Of course, it's a good point that the debuff pretty much destroys group fly's usefulness in general, but just something to consider. However, it also appears that Group Fly didn't get the base speed increase that fly and hover received. [Hover coming in at 21.5, Group Fly at 34.7 unslotted], of course, Group Fly still receives significantly more benefit from enhancements. Anycase, perhaps a change to make Group Fly more like a Group Hover instead?
It would reduce the usefulness of it to Masterminds who are using it for the rocket boot pets animation while traveling, but I think it would be a bit more useful for teams.
While Group Fly doesn't have travel suppression its limited radius, inability to be turned off by teammates except by moving away from the owner, generally slow speed, and fairly high endurance cost make the lack suppression hardly enough to justify the level of the debuff. This is in my opinion of course. It's quite possible the Devs feel differently considering the debuff is still in place and -25%. -
Quote:i expect it would react like the teleport prompt does for pets: not at all. What a peculiar line of speculation with an even odder conclusion.Quite a few people I've seen with group fly are MMs using it with pets. Not sure how prompts react with them. I doubt well.
Two things i would like to see done with Group Fly:
1) Tohit debuff removed. Group Fly already disadvantages players in other ways anyway, it hardly needs the additional penalty. This is by far the most important of the two in my opinion.
2) Add a setting allowing players to not be affected by Group Fly. A prompt option that pops up the first time a teammate activates it would be nice, but not really required if it would be difficult to implement. Merely being able to opt out through a setting would be enough. -
Quote:To be technical, it doesn't function as an addition to all the other buffs. Alpha slot boosts function exactly like putting an additional enhancement in any power that accepts enhancements of the same type as what the Alpha grants. Think of an Alpha Boost as being an HO that slots itself into every power that can be enhanced for whatever the boost grants. For example, if a power can't be slotted with an endurance reduction enhancement then Cardiac's endurance reduction has no effect on that power. That 45% is not a straight 45% damage increase. It is added to your damage bonus, along with enhancements and any other buffs you may have. If you have 200% damage bonus (enhancements + build up) you will only get about 10% extra damage out of the tier 4 Musculature.
Since the Alpha Boosts work just like regular enhancements for each power they buff ED affects how the Alpha Boost enhances a power exactly as if the Alpha Boost was just another enhancement slotted into the power with the exception that whatever fraction of the boost that is set to ignore ED will work past the ED cap. In many cases that translates to about ~6% additional enhancement if that power's slotting already put it at the ED cap. -
From what i've seen Grim Heaper is correct; it doesn't change the lighting levels of the costumes at all, just how light or dark the background is.

Quote:Only on powers that aren't already near the ED cap. Which on my level 50 alts is usually a power where damage is not its strong attribute. On all of my toons, I have gone with the Musculature. 45% more damage!
Most of mine have gone Cardiac. i'm almost never near the ED cap on end reduction. What with slotting the powers for damage, mez, or buffs instead... -
Quote:The fact remains that by the time it becomes available it's a nearly useless power in the current game environment. Less than useless since it penalizes any teammate near you whether they want it or not. Add that there are very few environments and enemy factions where it's actually helpful and it becomes even less desirable. Also add in that anyone can get their own flight powers with fewer penalties for a few thousand inf. Now add in all the teammate powers that become unusable when you turn on your Group Fly. Yeahhh...Grp fly may seem like a new good power to some people despite all the alts they have but to some people with certain alts (clearly not every) its a good additionally level of flexibility that takes up one slot. Out of some 70 alts I would say 5 of mine might have it or are getting it.
Before the advent of the invention system there was only one situation where i found Group Fly consistently useful: Hamidon raids where Phantom Army droppers did not have any flight powers. Currently it's only useful as a novelty power to amuse other players with when not in combat. -

je_saist has a point. My widow has to put Mind Link on auto to maintain positional defenses of 65.3% to 69.7% with the Cardiac rare slotted. Imagine how much worse it would be if i'd gone Nerve. Obviously that's neither passive nor at the softcap for the new content.

Quote:Team Teleport, the Group Fly equivalent for the Teleportation pool, also has no prompt. That's only part of the reason it's despised. It's still not great even without the debuff because it restricts ones movements without a prompt. I'd be fine with it if it offered a prompt like teleport.

Alloooooo!
*a pair of aviator goggles with a broken strap lands in a punchbowl as the gyrocopter wobbles out of sight* -

Quote:i think so. Oh, now i want to try running an ITF where everyone on the team is running Group Fly for an over the top challenge setting. If 8 players use Group Fly at the same time, would that debuff the teams ToHit by 200%?
Even better! Add a new TF challenge setting where everyone on the team is granted Group Fly as an auto power. -

That's not actually a crash though. When Domination ends it doesn't apply any sort of debuff or -attribute effect, which is generally what is meant by a crash. All that happens is that Domination's bonus effects end, which is no more of a crash than when Practiced Brawler ends.

Actually, that's a thought i had when they announced the WTF for this week: that on the busier servers we would have more nonstop Rikti action than any regular invasion weekend.
