I am thinking of rolling a fire/thorns as well, though not specifically for farming purposes. I can see where you are going with the smash/lethal softcap but I think you're gimping yourself too much. You are also lacking perma-dom. I am not happy with the build I made myself either (the toon is not even created so I'm not fussed) but this is how it looks to give you some ideas. Perma-dom and and then some positionals. Not too sure of some powerpicks...

Hey,
After reading a fort. guide and discussing some I finally decided I do want to roll a fortunata in a close future. I rolled a crab, which I was really loooking forward to as well but I got tired of it and it's stuck at lvl 26. I therefore hope this toon can replace my crab somehow.
I made powerpicks based upon much feeling and reading, but no real numbers of attack chains and so on. I tried to hit perma mind-link which I understand is hard on a fortunata (with a higher recharge time then the night widow's and no mental training) and this, especially without purple set bonuses.
All comments are appreciated. I'd say my defenses are fairly good and the reason for leadership pool maneuvers is to boost my defense when mask is suppressed, I would happily switch that power out though.
I am also unsure about the single target attacks (mental blast, telekinetic blast and poison dart. Gloom seems great though, except for the slighly higher endurance cost).
I am not sure vs the targeted aoes... (hence I picked dark obliteration) so any comments on that would be great as well...
Well, throw me off the chair, what shall I improve?

What is your actual point with all the recharge? With those 6 attacks your attacks will be wasted with that recharge... I made a thread about a WM/EA recently, check it out.
Also, for "your" build ditch the kinetic combats in clobber and slot it properly with 5 crushing impacts for your recharge. Also, check your Active Sets out, remember the Rule of 5. You're capped on two attributes. Reslot Pulverize as well, you odn't need the S/L defense from it.

There is no best way to slot the power. From my experience, I don't need to fully slot energy drain with endurance modification. Two mobs are enough to fully recover my endurance with the slotting I put there.
Comparing yours with mine, my build overall has a slightly lower accuracy, damage buff, hit points and regeneration bonus. I think the accuracy and a few percent of damage buff are probably not too big a deal. In return, pulverize and aid self are better slotted, buildup recharges faster, and you don't need to slot boxing which you'll never use.

Leveling a WM/EA brute, currently only lvl 9 or so. The build has softcapped typed defenses (to all but psi). After the defenses I went for +health and +regen (I think I managed to get a fair amount of it) and global accuracy. Since the build has 6 attacks I figured I could manage without hasten and I didn't go for a lot of global recharge even.
Comments please?

Get defenses with IO's and you got it! Mine is only lvl 31 but I intend to level it up at some point.

I am not even sure I would take siphon life, but I haven't done dm in a stalker in a long long time.

Hey I would like some guidance for this build for my to be newly made pvp stalker. How does Dark Melee really work in PvP? If I'd go with a def-set I see the -acc component in all the attacks work out fine but how good is it with this build? Is it even worth getting touch of fear? Should I slot it for fear instead perhaps? Overall... how is the build? I would like to stay off purples for a while... even the LotG's and miracles will be hard to get for me atm with all the other toons I got going. Thanks.

How would DM work in pvp? say... DM/WP/Mako?

I guess it is the escape part that can be troublesome with SR as you described... I am not that great on pvp-slotting but I threw a build together, how does this look? Btw. doubt I can fit phase shift in on a /SR...DM is okay, SR can kinda-sorta work if you build for a lot of ranged defense and recharge to have Elude up often. Problem is SR is entirely defense-based and has no "tricks" a la Ninjitsu (Blinding Powder, the self-heal, etc.) which means if you start taking hits when you're trying to get back into hide you're gonna have to hope you have teammates to get people off your back, or you'll have to phase.

I'm a big fan of stalkers and played a few, but not played pvp for a long time. How would you guys say DM/SR works out in pvp?

The combo is great. As mentioned before SD together with AAO works great, also, SD + SC is awesome. My tanker is just for regular TF'ing and I have a quite cheap build, for survivability. It has softcapped positionals and capped S/L resist with one with the shield running, got some extra recharge and regeneration in a cheap way. It can be done much better, but here it is, if it can help you. Great fun overall.

Thank you very much. I like the changes you made. I switched the scirocos in death shroud for 3 parts from multi strike for lower end-use and I also put the erad proc in there instead of the dam/rech, other than that it looks much better. I am not sure about the Soul Transfer - OG part, but I guess I will see when I'm getting closer to those levels. Thank you. Any hints on the slotting on dark regen? I am not sure about that really..

I did the Spy Hunt arc on my 50 stalker (down to lvl 14 obviously) and I completed the defeat all at the end. It took me 41 minutes to earn 16 merits... Not sure if it's worth it and if I log out for 1,5 hour to let the timer run out I can't call it "farming merits" imo.

I am not sure I like the idea of ditching Serum and Tactics. I am though, after the posts above remade some few things and ranged and aoe hit soft-cap. Also, picking up frenzy doesn't really seem nessecary with the amount of attacks I already will have (including epic-pools), especially with the smal 8' radius it has. At first glance, only things I would change is take something else instead of Wolf Spider Armour (it's an argument from another thread so obviously there's other opinions on the subject, but I reckon the extra +mez is overkill in the vast majority of PvE) - Combat Jumping maybe? Slot the defense -KB IO in there (if you think you need it, I'm happy with just one), and move the slot and the Steadfast 3% Def to Crab Upgrade.
Also maybe swap one of those basic End Mods in Stamina for the Performance Shifter +End proc - although perhaps less reliable/consistent, over a long period of time it works out as mathematically superior.
There's probably other tweaks could be made, but you have all the key powers and can't go wrong with all that defense, so eh.
Bout the Wolf Spider Armor; I did read the thread you are refering to but in my case whether I pick CJ or Wolf armor, it's only about, a toggle that provides minor defense, which brings me to softfcap vs ranged or a passive which gives me more S/L resists, I didn't pick Wolf Armor because of the mez protection. But I'm not sure what would be the best, really. -

Electric armor has a damage aura as well. If you're willing to experiment without the lines of a brute, try a /fire blaster with blazing aura and hot feet. Or a fire/earth dom with mud pots and hot feet.

My vote goes for dark/shield. I have a shield/dark tanker which I love playing. He's softcapped and with One with the Shield active he caps S/L resists. That you need 1 billion to do that is ********. My build was really cheap I must say and it was my first 50 on the server and I had all enhancements sets BEFORE I hit 50 (which was a quite fast ride) and that is without looting anything purple.
Soul Drain + Shield Charge is the world... I can only imagine the damage it does on a scrapper.
