the verticle movement is actually caused by subtle changes in the mouse control by your hand. I had this problem when I first started using 360 degree look arounds. Before I responded to you, I took my flyer out for a spin again and with a now-practiced hand, was able to move the camera view without moving the flyer.
That said, you may have better coordination with using the Page Up key which also triggers the camera, leaving your hand free to focus better on the mouse. The Page Down key will restore to original view.
Oh, and welcome to the game! -
Syfyr was actually my first pick. It was a bit of double-speak. Psy/Fire for sure, but it hadn't been too long since folks were talking up a storm about the ridiculous name change of the SciFi channel to SyFy. I was poking a little fun at all the hubbub, and thought for sure, since I didn't do it until a while after the channel's change that someone else would have grabbed it in the interim.

wasn't too far back that I made a Psy/Fire blaster on Virtue. Syfyr. was surprised that was available.

Quote:Thanks for the compliment!I think Blue Watch looks awesome.
Which chest piece is that, I'm not familiar with it. I wanna say "flack jacket", but I don't think that's right. If it is, then I need a new graphics card.
The other folks are right, it is Tech Sleek with the Tech Sleek pattern option using 2 shades of blue. -
let a AV get out the bank door in a safeguard and it will turn into a chase scene.
Not sure though how a chase scene could play out in a game full of controllers and super speedsters.
Might be interesting to have a chase scene in a building (not a cave) with close quarters, say, an apartment complex, where the runner can dart and weave through small rooms, side doors, etc. -

Tsoo Sorcerors.
Now, with additions and changes to the game, these are not quite as fearsome as before, but I recall a time when team leads would select a mission with Tsoo, and one or more of the good players on a team would announce "Thanks, but I'll find my own way. I don't fight Tsoo." There was even a large pact (on Freedom?, can't recall for sure) of folks who vowed to leave Tsoo alone.
Worst room I ever fought was back then (before crafting enhancements and vet rewards) against a 3-tiered lab room full of Tsoo, with a TON of sorcerors. I don't remember why the spawn numbers seemed outrageously huge, but that room was packed. I played on a full pug, all seasoned vets, and most known to me. It took us over an hour to clear that room, and as long as a medium task force to clear the entire mission. Numerous wipes and our debt count was through the roof. For some odd reason, we all gritted our teeth and stuck it out. That was probably the only good thing I could say about that mission, looking back. -
Quote:Based on that letter, I am seriously thinking Ajax mark 2 will be making an appearance in game in the future. Possibly with Going Rogue. So, Ajax is around and his letter is now read. Wonder what the authorities or Ajax is going to do next?
Oh, and Dark_Respite, did you notice they gave a few new clues as to Ajax's appearance? Always wears a helmet and average build. Based on his could-have-been-anyone comment. Just noting it since we all puzzled over his appearance when contributing designs to the anniversary video. -
Actually, I'm curious how Dark Astoria would look. I wonder if the reflective technology will really enhance or hurt the look. I'm actually wondering how the "fog" will interact with reflective glass, from an in-game standpoint. It would be kind of weird if the glass buildings were highly reflective and didn't show the fog, which I think is an effect outside of physical objects. (Is that accurate?)

If its like most Black Friday sales, its from 5:30am to 5:45am and there's only a guarantee of 2 per store, no rainchecks.

Quote:I'll loan you one of mine:Okay, I'm sure this will be particularly easy for you creative people.
I need a one-word adjective that describes someone who fights crime using a baseball bat (axe) and a manhole cover (shield). It will be used in the form <Adjective> Leo. For example, my other characters are Doctor Leo, Archer Leo, Radioactive Leo, Slicer Leo (claws scrapper)... I just can't think of a single word adjective that describes "beats up things with a baseball bat and blocks attacks with a manhole cover".
Streetwise Leo
there's also:
Streetsweeper
Beatdown
'Hood
Ghetto
Mad Max (actually, that's two words, sorry)
Apocalyptic (assuming he's a survivor type) -
Most of my characters on on Virtue, but not this one:
Nick O'Time
natural Katana scrapper
Justin Nicholas O'Tim was a U.S. Cavalry officer in the American Old West. That life vanished when he pursued a strange, green outlaw into a cave, unaware that the cave was actually a time portal: a side effect of the Cavern of Transcendance portal energies which merged the western cave with one in the Hollows of our time. Emerging out a "back door", O'Tim was beset by Trolls and would have perished if not for the aid of a patrol of heroes. The tunnel back collapsed in the fight. Now lost in a strange world, O'Tim still maintains his sense of duty, fighting alongside heroes.
As was sometimes the custom in the U.S. Cavalry, O'Tim carried weaponry of personal choice: leaving behind his sabre, the symbol of his rank, he carried into the field a formidable katana: a gift sent from a fellow officer who spent time in Japan. Nick is refining his skill under the guidance of several modern katana heroes. -
I'm not asking this in a snide way, but in a genuinely curious way: how is CoHV combat "a little dated"? Do you mean PvP issues, perhaps? I guess I could see that.
If you meant PvE though, I don't follow. I've played a handful of other MMOs, and personally much prefer the combat here. For example, unless I'm a stone tank, I'm not rooted in "casting" powers. I can leap, fly, and fire on the run. I didn't care for the rooted requirements for "casting" in other games.
So, clearly, I'm not seeing this as you do, but am willing to listen. So how is it "a little dated"? -
thanks for the feedback, all.
I'll use the /hide features for now, I guess. It should work for anyone out of sight. Is there though, another way to set up just an autoreply? maybe not /afk, but something that lets the guy standing next to you know you are not a snob who ignores him when he compliments your costume? -
Is there any way to display chat on alternate screens, such as the tailor, trainer or enhancement screens? I get a little weary of being halfway through a costume design, and hearing the chime for a tell, and having to back out to find out what its about: compliment, team invite, friend saying "hi", etc. The same with the other screens I mentioned.
Perhaps I should also ask if there is any way to negate the background on those screens. Seeing the game behind the overlay might help. -
Quote:though no powers are mentioned, you get the Tank Badge off of an M-1 statue, so its safe to assume...I'm working on an MA arc about old heroes. How can I find out the powers of the heroes commerated by giant statues, such as M-1, Wayland, and Dauntless? I know Galaxy Girl was a Kinetic/something.
Also, who is that big guy saluting in the middle of Steel Canyon?
If I could find pictures of these guys in costume, that would be cool too.
Also, and this is really reading into it, M-1 in Galaxy City is in a classic Super Strength punching pose. What his defensive power set is, well, take your best guess.
This doesn't say much about powers, but have you seen this page?

Quote:First, in another post you made some excellent observations on how various time travel episodes could screw up the time line a piece at a time. The Bad:
The inside of the Enterprise looks like a Brewery.
The tech isnt just prettier, but actually felt more advanced than the original series.
now the more advance tech you mentioned: I read/heard somewhere that team Abrams had decided that the newer tech on the new Enterprise was in large part the result of retro-engineering technology from the Kelvin scans of Narada, which were carried by the survivors. In like manner, but even less displayed, the Klingons got their retro-engineering boost when Narada was captured (in scenes and storyline not displayed in the theaters. I've heard its on the blueray. Is that accurate?)
The problem with that reasonable concept was that team Abrams did a lousy job of explaining that to the movie goers. Even a single dialog exchange would have sufficed. -
Quote:I agree. Some sword and shield scrapper have stated the animation really works for their character. I tried it on my ma/shield scrapper and there was a lot of cutting, mainly my neck by the shield. lol.Tried this out last night on a couple of my scrappers. I'm not overly thrilled with the way it looks, but functionally I love it.
However, I tried it on dual blades with shorter blades and it looks awesome. I'll tolerate the look on the rest of my toons for the movement benefits. -
Its okay, you can smile, cap guns are cool.
I remember my 7th grade class getting into a big cap gun fight on the streets of Williamsburg, VA, right after the Christmas parade ended. It was a lot of fun. Nowadays, we'd be arrested. Back then we were just glared at.
Back on target...growing up, I probably dropped more quarters into the local arcades than I've spent the last 5 years on all MMOs I've played, with expansion sets. There were days we'd play stuff like Centipede at Mazzio's Pizza, then leave and go play Lunar Lander, Star Castle and Battlezone at the arcade and finish up playing Gyruss at the front of the local department store. In the winter, we'd play Asteroids Deluxe at the hockey rink. -
Quote:I can't really speak to the ladies costumes elements, having only made one female character, but I can make a suggestion on fire and ice looks. Now, the 3rd one, I wanted to have a combination of the ice/fire in the costume, but I'm not sure what would look good.
I don't have any special packs other than the cyborg pack. I am up to 41 (42? I forget what it is) for vet rewards, if that helps with what costumes are available.
This is my fire/ice blaster Grill N. Chill. On these two costumes, I found good use for the "blend" feature on costumes. On his "bodysock" look, I suggested a temperature shift by starting with a darker blue in the boots blended with a lighter blue. legs featured the same lighter blue with a light orange. Top was a light orange blended to a red.
On GnC's Golden Age outfit, I used a nearly identical concept, but I used the belt as a dividing line, and ran the blends just on the top, legs, and internal cape.
I found black makes an eccelent trim color with the blended outfits. It adds weight to the look and keeps the colors from getting too loud. You can't see it here, but its the sole external color on the cape.
Oh, and if you look closely at the bodysock-look's face, you'll see behind the fiery-eye aura that I used the wraps glasses, which allowed me to use the blend one last time with a blue/orange blend.

Quote:I'd definitely go for it if I could have all the WWI stuff the Banished Pantheon zombies wear, especially the doughboy hats!A costume pack called 'Enemy mine'
Basically it would have a large number of costume pieces used by signature group (not signature character) NPCs.
Carnival of Shadows mask and Bustier, Freakshow chest detail and arms, 5th Column/Council helmet and chest details and so on.
It would be a huge costume pack which focuses on bits and pieces rather than entirely themed costumes, due to the amount of costume pieces in it there would be no emotes or special powers.
I'd go for themed sets, some of which are:
1. Wild West. which would included Weird Wild West.
2. Colonial Era. Paragon City is New England after all. I want my patriot Tri-corner hat and knickers! Would be nice to have some flintlock weapons too.
3. Steampunk -
Its been a long while since I read about it, but as I understand it, this is what was the problem behind the giant Rularuu. They couldn't make spot targets work, and the standard targeting wasn't cutting it because even blasters would be against the character's robes because the target center was so far within the skin.
