Side note.. apparently people were lined up outside the Wal-mart here since yesterday afternoon. Benches, sleeping bags, the whole thing. I guess one group of people even tried to order delivery pizza to "the sidewalk in front of Wal-mart" haha

Most Walmart Super-Centers are already open 24hrs; with the masses camping out inside. They started coming in at about 9:30pm at my store today.

I was a store director at kmart for five years and i can tell you that black friday can be dangerous...one cashier got punched because they had to come in the front doors to work and someone thought there were cutting in line cause she was wearing a coat over her vest and someone punched her. Another year an elderly lady slipped and three people stepped on her legs trying to get over her instead of helping her..luckily she was just embarrased and not hurt. Black Friday sucks. This was my first year not managing retail for the holiday and i was very happy.

I was there at a local store (working) when we had one lady start slugging another over socks (she emptied the table into her cart, then started going through them. Another lady saw a pair she wanted, grabbed them, and the first retaliated for the "theft".)

There was a nice a proper line in front of the Target I went to at 4:20AM, in the rain. At the local Walmart there was still a line outside at 6:30am since they were only letting people in as others leave.
Local news media report that there was a near riot at the nearby Toys R Us in which the nicely formed lined spontaneously disintegrated at Midnight when the doors were suppose to open. Police were called, the line reformed and the store opened an hour late. No reports of injuries that I heard of. A quick Google seems to suggest this wasn't the only Toys R Us where this happened.
