    1) They are ghiding and online
    or
    2) If they DC'd, the server thinks they're still online

    [/ QUOTE ]

1 - No form of hiding will hide you from your teammates.

And it is supposed to work with the offline due to the fact that their presences in your team, even offline, can have a huge effect on your gameplay.
  2. It's useless, i think... Pretty sure it affects the pet, which no longer can benefit from recharge bonuses.
  3. [ QUOTE ]
I love my BS scrapper, but if there is one thing that drives me crazy about her, it's the wait for my powers to recharge during a fight.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Someone made the notice that ranged controls now tend to do slightly less damage than a same-slotted same-control from a controller.

A controller benefiting from containment, that is.

To my eyes, what counts the most is that Dominators are now awesome without Domination. I can't say what effect the changes will have on permadom Dominators, but then the stated aim of the changes was to improve regular-play Dominatiors without affecting permadom Dominators too much. Which kind is yours?

[/ QUOTE ] I would think perma dom would have an easier time adjusting - with the end fill it gives you every X seconds.. (90?)

To throw some math into the endurance issue... the total net change in Endurance for powers affected was ~30% in the upward direction.

    [/ QUOTE ]

*sardonic laugh* yeah, that's... reasonable.... Pfffffffbbbbtttt

If they implement this, the Doms are shelved. 110% guarantee. I doubt the developers care much about my Dominators, but they ought to care about how Doms overall will become even rarer than they are now.... and they're pretty damn rare right now.

Man, nothing is safe these days.

    [/ QUOTE ]

While I have not messed with my Earth/Elec yet on test, I can tell you right now I will consider my Mind/Psi a playable character again.
  6. [ QUOTE ]
That's misleading. Every attack will play its animation, but you can be "rooted" in the air.

    [/ QUOTE ]

True. If it does not require you to be in contact with the ground, you can activate it in air, which means yo loose the ability to control your movement during the activation (root, in other words)
  7. [ QUOTE ]
So Doctor Creed is really on levels 5 - 8? Then Paragonwiki should be corrected.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Levels 5-8 to start, scales 5-9
  8. Actually, every attack (when activated) will root you.

It seems that great minds do run in the same tracks.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Isn't that what causes train wrecks?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Apparently, and I'm not seeing anything here to dissuade that theory.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Reminds me of this guy with a One Track Mind, actually.

I really think the people who are assuming that we'll be able to move existing characters from PC to the RI and vice versa, or start new characters in PC or the RI and eventually move them to the other side, are going to be sorely disappointed.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Except, that doesn't mesh with the email (Copied from Paragonwiki.com's Going Rogue page)
    [ QUOTE ]

City of Heroes Going Rogue officially opens the "mirror universe" of Praetoria and an all-new alignment system that explores the shades of gray that lie between Heroes and Villains. For the first time, Hero characters can become Villains and vice versa, enabling Heroes to cross over to the Rogue Isles™ and Villains to experience Paragon City™.

    /team_kick_internal kicks player without warning

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've never seen this before. Can you elaborate?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Either it skips the warning dialog

    or

Does not do the countdown to mission expulsion for the kicked player when the kicked person is inside a mission (anti-griefing tool, basically).

Its a bunch of BS that should be optional when you crash. If they could make it optional as a choice when you start up the updated I wouldnt have it set to always bypass the update. 99.999999999% you never need to verify files after a crash.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ryu - it's a step that can fix some issues, and fixes them automatically when it does (usually :P).

This helps cut down on CS issues.

There is a reason why the direct-skips-the-updater shortcuts are not considered supported by the game. If they offered some easy way to obviously skip it, you WOULD have people suffering repeat crashes, skipping verification, then when support replies to their ticked "Did you let the updater verify the files?" would answer "No".

    According to Paragonwiki:
"As of Issue 11 characters are now able to earn Respec Recipes as rare drops from the enemy defeat recipe pools which, upon crafting the recipe, the character will receive a Free Respec as long as that character currently has no Free Respecs."
Are respec recipes like purple drops (i.e., they have a 1/5000 chance in dropping)? Or are all those respec recipes sold at WW the result of Respec TF completions in Terra Volta?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Purples have a 1 in 5000 chance of dropping from any critter.

Pool A has a 2.3%/5.3%/7.9%/100 or 0% chance of dropping for Minions/Lts./Bosses/Archvillains respectively (other classes do not give Pool A drops.)

But, for a Pool A, you have a one in however many recipes are in Pool A chance it will be a respec, and not one of the MANY other Pool A recipes whenever a Pool A is awarded.

Look at the map. You'll see yellow, orange, and red shaded borders.

    [/ QUOTE ]

IIRC that is a feature of the vidiot-map-pack, and not in the original game-files. But it's been so long since I logged on a computer without that little patch I honestly can't remember

    [/ QUOTE ]

All maps have always had that
  16. Not chat bubbles per say. There was a (possibly, IIRC) exploit (I think to do with linking powers/items to chat) involving HTML - so to make sure people could not use HTML, the less/greater than signs were made to become the < and > code.

The purpose of a Darwin Award is to honor someone who got killed because of natural selection. It's commonly misinterpreted to mean something it isn't. Natural selection says that favorable traits are passed on. Stupidity is not a favorable trait, and if you're so stupid you got killed, you got Darwin'd.

[/ QUOTE ]Technically, Darwin Awards are to honor someone who removes themselves from the gene pool, so that they don't pass on their idiocy.

You don't need to have died, but if you lived, you need to have become sterile or gone vegetative. It's the "can't pass on your genes" part that is most important, not death.

    [/ QUOTE ]Yep.

It's just the most often, death is the vehicle of non-delivery

They don't enforce rules about avatar file size as it is. Most recently came across a 2.2MB avatar, not bad for you all with broadband but I'm still on dial-up. Fortunately only need to find them once and then BAM, Adblock Plus.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    eh, I report them
  19. Also, there are generally some nice people in the help (/hc) channel and will help you folks team up.
  20. [ QUOTE ]

Completing the Safeguard mission will give you a temporary power, and after you return to the detective, he will introduce you to a new contact. This is an alternative way of earning contacts. The temp powers are also quite worth it - the first couple of Safeguards give you jetpacks, which is a very cool thing to have on a trial.

    [...]

I'm obviously talking about the heroside game here. For villains, you'd want to speak to your Broker (in Port Oakes) for a Newspaper, and earn contacts through Mayhem missions. Pretty much the same idea, different flavour.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Note, villainside, mayhem missions are the main way to get contacts.

And whereas on a safeguard, you want to rush to the bank to KO the villain robbing it, on a mayhem, take your time, work your way over (in fact, mayhems have trigger points that send an ambush after you, which safeguards do not have) to the bank, destroying stuff as you go

It's still not working for me. Patched just fine but once again the updater closes and the actual game never starts up.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm having this SAME problem now as well....ugh....please please fix this soon. I have invaluable testing that I must attend to...

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Just to make sure...

Have you already deleted the checksum file from within your test install?

    or

Reinstalled the test client (using the quicker way)?

Seriouly the dev's brought this garbage pvp style to so call bring new pvper to pvp. Epic fail its didn't really happen. They tried to make it equal by nerfing things. That didn't work as well. They should make two zones one with all these changes and another the old school pvping...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, let's double the number of PvP zones...

After all, if people have trouble finding others to PvP among four zones, they should have no issues (because they will never) ever find someone to PvP with again!
  23. Bold, no. Not sure about the color changing anymore.
  24. What they are trying to say is it's time PLAYED (or really, for those with a devil's advocate sense of humor like me, "account active"), not paid.

If the blue spirit visage from the minions is Vanessa stealing their soul... what is the blue visage when you defeat HER? Or does she do that?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    SPOILER

    Well, Vanessa herself IS possessed.

Wait.. Go Go Gadget Wiki![ QUOTE ]

Witness to the horror and devastation of the Rikti, and the fall of so many heroes, Vanessa felt she had no choice but to don the mask. Vanessa had an offer ready for Giovanna’s spirit – work together and share their resources or else both would die. United in purpose, Vanessa/Giovanna did her part against the Rikti. Although she could not mentally dominate the aliens directly, she created an army of perfectly-coordinated, fearless soldiers under her mental halo. She fought until near collapse, and then in a moment of desperation “pulled” too hard on a subject’s soul … and consumed it in a flash of hunger. Although horrified by what she had done, the rush exhilarated her and recharged her. As long as she had souls to sustain her, she could fight indefinitely. Vanessa/Giovanna devoted her forces to the Alpha Strike team. When the Rikti portal was destroyed, all of her puppets were killed. Cut off from her resources, she collapsed.

When Vanessa awoke, free of the mask, she longed for Giovanna like a lost love. Vanessa reclaimed the mask immediately. United now in shared history and close friendship, Giovanna convinced Vanessa that she needed a reward for her good service. Giovanna helped Vanessa build her own little version of Paradise by seducing and dominating the young and wealthy of Paragon City. She reveled in the luxury, but soon felt directionless.
