Quote:In the online shop at NCSoft's website, there is "Going Rogue" the expansion for $30 USD. This requires the base game.I just got done playing Runes of Magic for a few months and I'm looking for something different. CoH looks great and something I might really enjoy. I just have a few questions about this game.
First off, if I buy Going Rogue, will I need to buy CoH and CoV to get the complete game experience? Can I just play Going Rogue and have a great time.
Secondly...if there is no loot in this game, what keeps you going later on? Most of the fun I had in RoM was doing instances to get gear to make myself more powerful or to sell to others. I really like the whole economy in games and I'm afraid that there's not one in this game and I"ll eventually get bored.
I just don't want to get invested in a game that will soon become stale to me.
Also, does anyone know exactly what comes with Going Rogue? I couldn't find a package list or anything. Is it just the expansion? Is it the expansion and the previous City of Titles? Is there a subscription card with the game or will I have to buy one separately to even start playing?
Thanks in advance for the answers and hopefully I'll see you guys in game.
Then there is the "Going Rogue Complete Collection" for $40 USD. The later includes the base game with the expansion. It also includes the Going Rogue Item pack, and 1 month of play.
Like most pay-to-play MMOs, they want you to put in a subscription method, either a time card or a credit card. The credit card will not be billed until the first month is over.
You can add codes from older versions to a) get their goodies (like the mac pack which doesn't require the mac) and b) the 1 month of time. -
Quote:It's even better when you are near a ledge... like that big office room with the platform in the middle that always has NPCs up top? I can usually juggle the ones I'm not busy with over the side.Enhancing the knockup in Lift and Levitate is incredibly amusing and actually helpful... for example, when I'm soloing on my Mind Dominator my usual method of attack if my AoE mezzes aren't up is to hold one enemy, sleep another, and then throw the third way up in the air. Quite effective!

If you went loyalist, look up Robert Flores, I think it is, in Nova Praetoria.
For Resistance, Inspector Washington, I think, is the guy. -
This is why enhancements have scale thresholds - as you exemplar down, your higher percentage enhancements gets scaled down.
-
A note about all procs and proc-like 120s - read the proc. It will clearly mention "Target" or "Caster". If target, it affects all targets of a power lime AM. If caster, it will affect you only. The performance shifter proc is a target type - therefor not recommended for powers that target the enemy like kinetic's endurance heal (can't recall if it's Transference or Transfusion).

What the Dump meant was even things abandond (Market Teleport Inspiration, for example) can be found in market searches. He is saying they might be a discarded concept by the developers.

Quote:Don't ever recall KU not being affected, but I could be wrong KD has always been affected as it is merely weak (.67 or less magnitude KB)I dimly recall (could be wrong; someone'll have to trawl the patch notes for the year and change to confirm) that initially KB enhancements specifically enhanced Knockback, not Knockdown or -up. They did make the specific change a while back so that those enhancements affected all related Knock* powers.
-
1) Not sure.
2) most do. Performance Shifter's proc grants you endurance directly and definitly "stacks".
3) Varies based on powersets. If electric/, I'd say no Dom OR controller. -
Try waiting 24-48 hours. If that doesn't work, contact support through www.ncsoft.com. The store sometimes has it's anti-fruad trigger and forget to release on people.

The +1 level would mean it's level-shifting.
So far all level shifting is part of the Incarnate system. -

To be fair, at least some of the toggle hate is a legacy of the previous market interface.

Shields don't stack. (Forcefield, Cold, Sonic, or Thermal)
Speedboost doesn't stack.
But most things stack. Exceptions are always noted, and except for Vengeance (which is an odd case) pretty much everything stacks from different casters - this is why zoning lets a bubbler double-buff - zoning wipes the buff's caster's ID from the buff.
Fortitude stacks, in fact. So for your fortitude example, the person would be double buffed until the first application wore off. -
Quote:The things that would affect patching time once the patch is downloaded :Gotcha. Then my original deleted post stands.

There really isn't anything you can do. Make sure it downloads the patch safely, then go get something to drink. Check the mail. Watch some television. Go outside. Paint a picture. Take up a hobby. *shrug* We're all stuck in the same boat--I think application time is dependent on the computer's processing time, but even a snazzy new compy will take time to patch 3.6 GB of files.
To a point : Hard Drive - it's Seek/Read/Write speed. Usual/average speed is about 7200rpms, although 5400rpm drives are still out there. Raptors are at about 10Krpms. SSDs bypass rpms :P
Hard Drive Fragmentation : From what I've heard from Je Saist's *nix soapbox (;P), primarily a Window's issue.
Processor speed : faster the proc, faster the patch processes.
RAM : Cause it's magic! More = Better! (OS limits may apply) -

Quote:As a reminder - Just in case of Murphy make a note of your serial code, and how you PAY your first month sub. If CC, also your last four digits. If via time card, the whole code. If paypal, the account. If you lose control of your account this is the info they request. CC does not count as fist payment until it is actually charged. No, that's exactly correct. You get your 30 days, but as with most other MMOs, you must enter a game card or credit card when you Activate your account.
But yes, you can deactivate the card once the account is activated, leaving you with the free 30 days of game play. -
Should be the best of both words - keep your trial time but no limitations.

Easy to check. At www.cityofheroes.com, in the news subsection on the side, is the Server Status Page.
To the original poster - the info that let you log into the forums should also let you log into the game. -
For best results, post your issue and results of the CoH Helper and HijackThis in the "Technical Issues and Bugs" forum.
It's in the Development subforum, under the dev and community digests. The techie types hang out there. -
It should pass to the next person to log in of the highest rank that is not past the expiration date. So as long as you have a T4 who has not avoided logging in past the auto-demote date, it will be a Tier 4 rank who gets the Tier five rank.

Quote:Wrong! (resists urge to link to Wrong Song).I think they first gave out Free Respec when the Global Defense Reduction was imposed on us. Then again with Enhancement Diversification. Then again with the Controller Pet Reduction. Etc. Now it's a tradition.
First Freespec was, as I recall, issued during the original 2004 Holiday event and/or Issue 3 release (they were about the same time).
