Quote:As cool as that would be, and maybe I'm wrong here, but I'd be surprised if this is the case. I'd suspect during your rogue/vigilante transition period you'll still be limited to the zones of your original faction and Praetoria. Once the transition is complete you will then have access to the zones of your new faction, losing access to the zones of your original faction. We know we'll have the "going rogue" content that is specific for changing sides. I expect this to be about an arc long, one arc for each side, basically somewhat similar to the Midnighter arc. You complete the arc and it gives you a Rogue badge that enables access to both red and blue side.
Quote:After that, I guess we'll have some cooperative zone Praetorian stuff. I foresee content along the lines of the Faultline / RWZ, with Fusionette and Jim Temblor being replaced by the two new rogues, and the Praetorian factions replacing the Rikti. There should be at least one new zone for all the action, but I'm thinking the zones may be closer to Cimerora or Ouroboros in size as opposed to IP or Nerva.
Based on the information we have so far, all any of us can do is speculate. I'm certain all these questions and more will be answered soon enough. -
Quote:Hmm, I can see why you're confused:
Labour Day in Australia:
Celebrating the Australian labour movement, the Labour Day public holiday is fixed by the various state and territory governments, and so varies considerably. It is the first Monday in October in the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales and South Australia. In both Victoria and Tasmania, it is the second Monday in March (though the latter calls it Eight Hours Day). In Western Australia, Labour Day is the first Monday in March. In both Queensland and the Northern Territory, it is the first Monday in May. -
Quote:Perhaps "no extra work" was a poor choice of words. Your second sentence in this quote is exactly my point however. Old badgers already went out of thier way to complete much higher requirements. Yes. Extra work was already done. I suppose what I meant to say was "no additional work". With the work already done, all I would need to do now is simply log in for new badges.Old adage" Is the glass half full rather than half empty?" Getting an extra badge for " no extra work" is a false statement.Old badgers already went out of their way to complete much higher requirements.
I was already rewarded once for defeating 10,000 rikti monkies. I don't feel the need to be rewarded for it again. Yes the requirement has dropped significantly since then, but so have the mechanics for obtaining the badge. They've since gained a ranged attack and the aggro cap prevents mass herding. Any new badger attempting this now, will have done much more work than you or I.
With the exception of Empath (which I got immediately after the first reduction was made), I've gotten all of the badges the "hard way", under thier original values. I even spent the time in RV for isolator.
Do I feel my extra work has been devaulued by the badge changes? Sure. Maybe a little.
Do I feel entitled to another reward because of it? Certainly not.
There are actually alot of good changes on that list. Overall I'd have to say, I'm happy with it. -
Quote:Sure that's great for those of us who have already met those original requirements. Free badges for no extra work. But, I promise you, this will never happen. It defeats the purpose for reducing the badge requirements in the first place. The idea is to move away from grindy badges.OOO wow.... with GR I wonder if it will be possible to get the accolades from both sides? THAT would be cool!!
On another note. I was thinking( bad idea, I know...). I am all for the requirement reductions and 100% support the changes. However, the players who have spent an extraordinary amount of time procuring badges under the old system have every right to feel a bit disgruntled. Having pointed that out. I'd like if they implemented new badges based on old achievements. Example: Old badge for rikti monkies that required 10,000 monkey defeats could be made a new badge titled 'Banana's".Thus, "zookeeper" is available with the lower requirements and " banana's" an extra reward to those who DID have to complete the heavier requirements. In addition, "Banana's" could be obtained by fulfilling the old requirements so not exclusive to older players. The monkey badge is just one example. Heck? Make the last tier damage debt badge named "Bankrupt for Life", the damage badge "Living Dead". Try to make each badge name correspond with the insane requirements.
Toldya it was a bad idea for me to "think"!! I have no idea the resources needed to implement an idea like this. Just having a moment of wishful thinking.
I honestly can't see them introducing new badges with the old (grindy) requirements right after reducing the requirements for badges of the same type. -

Quote:This does appear to be the official stance at the moment.I'm going to guess that Going Rogue might fix this with ease.
Quoted from Synapse in the beta threads:
Quote:One thing I've seen brought up a number of times that I want to address is defeat badges. Some of these badges are required for weapon unlocks, accolades or have just plain cool titles may be impossible or incredibly difficult to earn for villains, but easy to earn for heroes or visa versa. No changes are going to be made to most of these badges for now (see the below patch notes for exceptions). Our current stance is that players will be able to earn these badges when they change sides using the Going Rogue system. This will have to be tested thouroughly in beta though, and see how this theory holds up then. -
Quote:You misunderstood.I thought the beta invites were going to the highest vets first!!??
I have been logged into game since day 1, and I haven't gotten a beta email or access yet. Wow did I misunderstand! Or did I?
Tech/KK
Closed beta access for 60+ month vets was promised for the "Going Rogue" expansion only. Not for issue 16. -
Which Mind Control attacks are you referring to specifically that have no positiona defense? I'm looking at the set here and all of them appear to be ranged or AoE.

Am I missing something painfully obvious here? If your sole intention was to aquire SB III, why did you spend $19.99 on the Architect Edition when you could have saved 10 bucks by buying the booster by itself for $9.99 here.
[/ QUOTE ]
You are missing something. AE edition also comes with free month of play. 10+15=25 for 20. Small discount, but still there.
[/ QUOTE ]
I get that there is a free month. But the statement being "out 19.99" indicates that the purchase was a *complete* waste of all the money spent. "Out 5 bucks" I guess would have been more accurate. -

I'd assume it's more so meant for mission maps. Although I'd personally see that as a double edged sword: If I missed a room, it'd help me find it... but at the same time, I use the Fog of War to know where I've been!
[/ QUOTE ]
God I hope it's not meant for mission maps. I also use the fog to know where I've been.
However using it to clear the fog from zones would be fantastic! I absolutely hate having to clear my maps on each and every damn character I have.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm fine with it being used on instance maps as long as its not an auto power. The fog CAN be useful at times. Hopefully it'll be a toggle or a clickie power so you have the choice to remove the fog or not.
[/ QUOTE ]
The link Blackavaar gave describes it as a click power with a 5 minute recharge time.
Though I would likely only use it on zone maps myself, it would at least be nice to know that I had the option of using it on mission maps as well.
I'll explain why. If the power can only be used on zone maps, it has an extremely limited fuction. There is a very small, finite number of zone maps. Clear Fog of War on all zone maps. Throw the power in the trash because it no longer seves any purpose whatsoever.
You can however enter an unlimited number of missions. Even though you may not necessarily want to remove the Fog of War, it's at least somewhat comforting to know you have the option to do so. -
The "City Rebuilding" area of Steel Canyon was not on the original map. It has been marked as early as the Good vs. Evil Edition however.

Its in the ABANDONED sewers.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is the most common mistake when looking for the plaque. Make sure you are in the Abandoned Sewers and not the regular sewer network.
When you zone into the sewers, turn to your right and enter through the small door on the wall in front of you now. -
Some badges, the achievement badges specifically, Have different artwork and different names depending on whether you happen to be a hero or a villain.
This goes for: badges earned, damage taken, debt, healing, held, influence earned, level and mentor badges.
When going Rogue happens you won't need to re-earn those badges since you technically already have them. Your existing badge will simply change to the other version.
However, I don't believe the accolades currently function this way. So It's my guess that either one of two things will happen.
1. They will tie the accolades together to effectively become the same badge like the achievement badges mentioned above, or
2. You'll get to keep your old accolade badges but be unable to access the actual power until you meet the requirements for the new accolade. (I really don't see them removing actual badges, but it wouldn't surprize me if the power itself became "greyed out" and unavailable)
Of course there is always the remote possibilty you will be able to earn and use both sets of accolade powers. I believe this to be extremely unlikely however. -
Blaster snipes have a 3 second interrupt time.
The rez from the medicine pool is 4 seconds.
I will tend to slot an interrupt or two into snipe powers. It allows me to actually use them for more than just opening a fight.
You can actually get them to go off again while being attacked. -
From the classes you have listed I'm guessing you want to play a villain.
That being the case, I'd go with a Mastermind or Corruptor.
Hero side you might enjoy playing a Defender or Controller. -

I heard they finally added the arena badges and an accolade for them. Took them long enough, I wonder bs excuse they have for not releasing like they were supposed to for i4.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, there are at least 16 arena badges this issue, including one accolade:
Individual PVP badges
Accolade
There may also be a badge called "Contender" but I haven't found what would earn it. The Accolade is awarded by earning the five Victor badges shown in the first link.
[/ QUOTE ]
I only see 15 new badges, plus the accolade.
Justiciar is old.

15 badges + one accolade =16.
I'm sure Justicar is only shown in that list to indicate where the new badges appear in game. -

Ok. So what does everybody else get? My daughter has a little Stormy sitting at LvL 11 with all 5 of the Anniversary badges. What does she get? The Heal Epic? Damage badges? Any and all other badges? She has been here long enough to earn all those other badges..... but she just doesn't log in that character. So... does she get anything?
BC
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not really sure where you are going with this argument.
This isn't a some people/everybody else scenario. Everybody gets the same thing. Your daughter would have the option of creating a brand new character if she likes, who could also have all of the anniversary badges. -

One of two or more rows, like..?
[/ QUOTE ]
My 2 cents:
I think the definition is actually pretty clear.
A. There needs to be more than one of whaterver it is you are calling a tier.
B. And each one is a tier. Again, it says [u]One[u] of two or more, not two of two or more, not one or two of two or more. Just one.
1. Hover
2. Air Superiority
3. Flight
4. Group Flight -
[ QUOTE ]
My guess (and this is purely a guess) is that if this change happened it would NOT be retroactive.
[/ QUOTE ]
Really? I disagree. It seems to me that the biggest part of Positron's uncertainty of whether or not it's even possible, probably relys on this very thing.
Any future anniversary badge will, of course, be a new badge that they can assign any reward method they want to. And since we already know that they know how to make account wide badges, I don't forsee any technical difficulties at all to this.
Honestly, if they can't make the badges retroactive, I say why even bother? -
One of the things to remembre about Dull Pain: It's much more than just another heal.
It adds to your hit points. And hit points are key for regeneration. The more hit points you have the faster you regenerate.
Put 3 recharges in this. Pick up hasten. Keep it active as often as possible. -
The reason you are having so much trouble finding an HoF arc is because there *isn't* one.
Should an arc become a Hall of Fame arc it will be moved to the first page, right underneath the Dev Choice arcs. If you don't see one there, there isn't one.
Once issue 15 hits these badges will be removed. If you are looking for HoF arcs to enjoy quality writing and entertainment, great. But if you are just after the badges, you're wasting your time now. -
Thanks for the list, Synapse!
It does kind of feel like an axe was used when a pair of trimmers would have done the job just fine. But all in all I have to say I'm satisfied and I completely understand why these changes needed to be made. -

I don't buy it. This wasn't your typical "oops I accidentally posted the same exact message twice" double post. None of the 5 posts are acutally identical. There are slight variations in each one.
The fact that 4 out the 5 posts are replys to different people and the time between the posts, makes me believe he thought he was sending a message specifically to that person.
When he didn't get a response from that person, he tried someone else..
