Have these been announced yet? Coming up on month 63...curious if announced!

Not announced, but a recent slip revealed this. It's likely this is the next in line for Vet Rewards.

Veteran Reveal is said to be usable once per 5 min and will remove the Fog of War (the blackened out portion that has not been traveled to yet) from the map it is used on.

I'd assume it's more so meant for mission maps. Although I'd personally see that as a double edged sword: If I missed a room, it'd help me find it... but at the same time, I use the Fog of War to know where I've been!

Because just removing FoW from the game totally makes no sense. I mean, it's not like we can see all the maps at any time we want.

Not everyone uses the map patch, babe. And many of us are OCD about clearing out zone mini maps.

FoW inside missions is fine, but outside, it's pointless.

As for the map patch, I wasn't refering to that. It doesn't, and can not legally, remove the FoW. I was refering to the fact that both sites have full, uncovered maps available to anyone who takes the time to look.

I, personally, don't see a need for, or point to, the Fog of War. And it seems that I'm, once again, in the minority. It's OK, though. I know me here...

Hmm, is this maps only, or will it be useable in zones as well. I wouldn't mind this for the shard when I bring my newest 50 in.

No one knows for sure yet, but the assumption is that this is mainly used for removing the FoW from zone maps, due to your Veteran's knowledge of the city. It is still unknown whether it will work on mission maps at all, but we're hopeful.

If all we are going on is what is on that page, it would be really funny for it to be something completely different.

Veteran Reveal: Once per hour, you can see through people's costumes. Happy 63 months, Pervert.

Or that it would show where glowies/hostages/etc. are on the map and cut down on the running around. It would make for a more direct approach to completing a mish. They probably would do this though b/c it might make the missions too easy or exploitable.

It would just clear the map. They would actually have to create a new system to show you where glowies are on the map, and hostages/allies don't appear on the map until you've rescued them anyway.

Here's another site where it is mentioned.

Again, no one knows for sure. For all we know it could be slated for the 81 month reward. But nothing else has slipped through so...

God I hope it's not meant for mission maps. I also use the fog to know where I've been.

However using it to clear the fog from zones would be fantastic! I absolutely hate having to clear my maps on each and every damn character I have.

Betting the 66 month for reveal.

1/4 year (trench-coat, wings, anime tech armor, boxing, arachnos helmates)

6 month marks(greek alphabet, samurai, base items & sig chest emblems, assemble team TP, staff/axe/sands of mu)

3/4 year (staffs, shoulder cape, 50% off tailor, respecs, skin-showing outfits & kilts)

year marks (sprints, axe/mu, base items, base tp, holopet, buff pet, early travel powers).

63 would be the 1/4 year mark so guessing costume change and some costume pieces. 66 usually tends to be bigger (i know subjective) like powers which i think the reveal power falls in line with more. Just my guess though...could be wrong.

I'm fine with it being used on instance maps as long as its not an auto power. The fog CAN be useful at times. Hopefully it'll be a toggle or a clickie power so you have the choice to remove the fog or not.

The link Blackavaar gave describes it as a click power with a 5 minute recharge time.

Though I would likely only use it on zone maps myself, it would at least be nice to know that I had the option of using it on mission maps as well.

I'll explain why. If the power can only be used on zone maps, it has an extremely limited fuction. There is a very small, finite number of zone maps. Clear Fog of War on all zone maps. Throw the power in the trash because it no longer seves any purpose whatsoever.

You can however enter an unlimited number of missions. Even though you may not necessarily want to remove the Fog of War, it's at least somewhat comforting to know you have the option to do so.

That's assuming you never play another character. I don't know many people that only make one character in this game. I also don't know of any player that hasn't deleted at least one character.

The number of times you'll need to clear a zone map is only limited by the number of characters your imagination can create.

That being said I feel confident in saying the devs have never consulted me nor based any of their decisions on my personal preferences.
