Clearly, there's more than one way to get rich. Some farm for it, some get Merits, some play the market, or maybe a combination of the above.
The nice thing about this game is that you don't need to be rich to be effective. But if you want the cash to get nice stuff, you're gonna have to play a little harder or smarter for it. -
They should totally give it to you anyway for honesty.
The gremlins love you. -
There are tips though. Oddly enough, a frequently-played character won't make much progress on badges, but if you leave a character for a while, you'll make more progress and have enough time to actually take advantage of the various bonus powers you get.
Since I juggle 11 alts, I actually find it easier to get rewards thanks to the 'days logged out' counter- I log into the alt who's been offline the longest, play them for a bit and log out in a different job location. -
...I like the new one better.
They should revamp a lot of the old costume pieces... would be nice if they kept the old ones as well though. Call the revamps 'Neo Costume Piece' or something. -

Cat ears!
[/ QUOTE ]
Almost everybody makes a catgirl at one point...
[/ QUOTE ]
If you really look at the fine print, it's required in the EULA that you make at least one catgirl.
[/ QUOTE ]
Damn, they're totally going ban my [censored] over this one, as I have no female characters, let alone a catgirl (before you ask, no, I don't have a catboi either).
[/ QUOTE ]
No, they'll just alter your main into one.
[/ QUOTE ]
I just imagined my namesake being turned into a catgirl...
It feels so horribly wrong, but I just can't stop laughing.

How else are we going to craft the new Praetorian recipes that only work in Praetorian world?
[/ QUOTE ]
Makes sense. We will be living in a Praetorian world, and we are Praetorian girls!
[/ QUOTE ]
Are you trying to tempt me into making a full-version parody of that?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, Yes we are! You must make one.

Walk like a Praetorian... -

I have to admit...
The more I play my ELM/EA Stalker, the more I wish I had rolled a WM/EA brute.
I'm so very pretty, but not strong!

Profilerate WM to Stalkers now plz

so iv have a few brutes, i have a elec/fairy aura lvl 40 and a ss/sd thats 38 or 39 and i had a ss/ fairy aura at one point that was fun i was wondering if /stone would be fun but i don't know what my primary would be any ideas?
[/ QUOTE ]
WTF is /Fairy Aura?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm sure that given half a chance, someone in the Suggestions Forum could come up with 9 powers for that set.

...hell, I'd play it. -
The 'best' scrapper build seems to change every five minutes. Claws/Invuln is rarely used, but that doesn't at all mean its bad, it probably just isn't a common thematic pairing. Invuln has recently got some buffs to make it quite viable without being overpowered.
-
It depends. The Mothership Raid, for example, doesn't have a super-tough endboss (U'Kon'Grai goes down in seconds), instead you have a ton of players fighting a literal army of enemies, which is fun and rewarding... but very very laggy.
Hm, maybe a WoW-style raid might not be so bad after all. -
What does the new costume part look like?
-
My budget is pretty much whatever I can scrounge up, but I'm patient enough to save up for what I need. The Miracle unique sounds like a good idea, though I'll need to save up some Merits.
I've got Laser Beam Eyes 6-slotted for Thunderstrike, since I hear that helps. I won't be slotting all my attacks for the def bonus, but a lot of them need updated IOs anyway. -
I've tried some post- MArch 'farms' and they usually end up with everyone getting killed because they forgot that they're not fighting Comm Officers.
I'm pretty sure MA farming is starting to die out now that you have to put actual effort into it. -

NB: The PVP zones all have a 'mini game' attached too, eg in bloody bay you collect sample from meteors, and if another player kills you, they collect the pieces off you.

Wait, Bloody Bay is a PvP zone? -

He asked a legitimate question and there was no reason for this answer at all. I totally agree with the OP here. NCSofts customer relations is terrible at times and I do not see why a quick post here 5 minutes before the down time couldn't have been done.
I am quite sure they knew about this 30 minutes before hand and could have quite easily posted something regarding the early shutdown.
So you see sire, quite your bitchin at other on this forum, I take nothing to be nice.

You're not any better than the guy you're quoting, y'know. -
Pretty sure the only reason there's less douchebags on D2 is that by now they've all moved on to something else.
-
I've finally decided to concentrate on one thing long enough: Getting my 50 BS/SR to the softcap for everything. I've been working on buying what I hear are the better sets for it- Zephyr, Red Fortune, Mako's Bite and that- and I already have one set of Red Fortune, Gaussian's and the Steadfast unique.
Now, I've tried my half-built build, with 6 toggles not counting Sprint (I took Tough, Weave and Combat Jumping), and I find I run out of end relatively quickly against a boss. I wasn't really surprised, but I would like tips on how to hit that softcap without having to use half a dozen toggles. -

Always assumed Lethal was less resisted. Probably because BS is Lethal and seems pretty strong.
[/ QUOTE ]
In my experience, lethal and smashing are comparable in resists right up until you encounter a rikti drone, council mekman, or other robot... then smashing gets a damage bonus and lethal gets a penalty.
[/ QUOTE ]
And I'm not sure what Smashing is weak against, but it's not robots, and you'll be fighting a lot of robots.
[/ QUOTE ]
I thought that the council bots were strong against Lethal, and that Drones only had defense.
As for Broadsword, it's powerful because its attacks have massive damage and a correspondingly high endurance cost, not because of its damage type. However, its AoE isn't much to brag about compared to Dual Blades.
[/ QUOTE ]
I dunno, a Broad Sword is my main and between Headsplitter, Whirling Sword and Slice I don't feel too wanting for AoE. And yeah, Lethal resistant enemies aren't so bad when you do lots and lots of Lethal. -
Your first travel power is always a very nice thing to get. It's one of those big stepping stones as a character.
Incidentally, you'll get a major power boost at 22 when you gain access to Single Origin enhancements (you can buy them at the shop of your origin in Talos Island), so you have something to look forward to. In the meantime, I suggest you put your next few power picks into the Fitness pool, to get Stamina- most characters in the game benefit from this power, that dramatically increases your endurance recovery, meaning much less downtime. -

I specifically said Private Game. Actually, I said "if you want to bring some random shmuck into your private HC game...", but you go ahead and read what you want to see.
Even in a public game (and I have no idea why you play in a public HC game to begin with, as that's just asking for trouble), all the same methods to escape a PK death apply. Your mindless hatred over the PKers is not justified. Note: I am not a PKer.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, you said private game...as the method to avoid PKers.
And, yes, there are methods to avoid PKers, but they aren't always effective, PLUS there are tons of hacks to circumvent them.
Forcing PvP onto another player without their consent is griefing. Period. End of story. They get off on ruining other people's fun. That's the only reason to want to PvP without requiring the target's consent. My hatred is very justified. People whose idea of fun is to ruin the fun of others are flat-out pathetic and deserve nothing but contempt.

I'm getting the impression that the last time you played D2 was 10 years ago.

Any addition of the game will give you a full game and entire game code. What differentiates each edition are extra game goodies that come with the edition. The AE Edition comes with a code to get the Cyborg (Technology) Costume Booster set or the Magic Costume Booster. The costume booster sets come with costume pices that are a cut above the costumes that are normally found in the Character creator. That's not to say the regular pieces are bad, the Boost sets are just that much better.
The boost sets also some with a set of new emotes and powers. The Magic set has a nice Forturn Telling power which gives a random buff to a player. The Cyborg pack has Self-Destruct which does jut that. You activte a sef-destruct dquence and you blow up 10 seconds late in a big explosion. Mac Edition (doesn't need a Mac to play) comes with the Valkyrie Costume set and has the Teleport to Mission door power. Good vs Evil edition has 2 custome sets (Hero and Villain themed) and a Jump Jet pack which is handle for getting around the game. All of the game eidition comes with 1 free month of game time. so it's pretty much just pick which extra freebies appeal to you. You can buy most of the extra edition goodies separately for $10.
the biggest advancage of the AE Edition box set is that is comes with the most up to date copy of the game. A lot less patches to download for installations.

And if you wait for a week or so, I think you'll also have the Science Pack as an option, which has some significant costume options.
