So, due to incidents involving the terrible internet service that Australians have to suffer I was unable to play for nearly a month, and let my account lapse (yeah I miss out on the badge and beta, I can live with that). I finally resubbed today now that my ISP is back to normal, and it's good to be back. From what I hear, next issue is still far away, Star Trek Online is looking nice, and Palin's autobiography stole the expansion name, wtf. Anything else I miss?

They don't want it in red and yellow. Guess why.
-
I'm skeptical but this could be a good idea... though it might render the current IOs obselete. And would it count for the same powerset on different ATs? (ie, Assault Rifle on Blasters and Defenders?)

There's a Council base and Sky Raider rig in Sharkhead, not to mention the Cage Consortium mansion, there's the Family mansions in Port Oakes, and Thorn Isle seems to be the CoT base...

Quote:...what exactly is so stupid about deleting characters? You can make new ones. This has got to be the stupidest thing i have read on the forums in a long time. That being the OPer btw. I am not discounting anything that she says. I can totally understand the idea of having charactes, even level 50s that you have no connection to.
But if you have level slots availible i see no reason in deleting perfectly good characters simply because you PLed them up to a fun level in the game. You can buy enhancments, You can make a new costume, you can unlock a cape. Heck you can even by a rename token.
I commonly skip the low levels of the game. I have absolutely no pride in being able to squeeze out level 1-20 anyone can do it. Its not rocket science. Deleting them simply isjust being dumb. A mid 30s character still has plenty of play left in them. And plenty of time to gain pride in it. -
Yes, you can slot a second Performance Shifter proc into it.
In fact, given the numbers are kinda low, Physical Perfection is the perfect extra proc mule. -
It greatly depends on the time you're playing as well, by the way. The servers may seem quiet if you're logging on when everyone else is at work or asleep.
-
Nah, Origin doesn't matter.
There should be some guides around the place for Super Strength and Willpower. That's a very popular and deadly combo so it shouldn't be hard to optimise, even before you start slotting IOs. -
I think the devs aren't going to bother implementing it if the solution is 'might as well roll a new character'. We have a zillion character slots and the ability to buy more for that.
Besides, they've already said that this is never going to happen- not because they can't, but because they don't want to. -
If we don't get an archenemy system I'm cool with that, I'll just roll some alts on another server and probably never get around to playing em.
-
Can't make a Rad Melee set without Contaminated Strike, the one attack that already exists ingame.
-
On the other hand, you'd have newbies switching to a set they have no idea how to use. Imagine what it would have been like with AE babies.
-
I think that if an enemy is capable of dropping level 50 recipes, it can drop purples.
So I think technically yes... but your chances may be low compared to fighting even-cons or higher. -
Quote:And they're going to have to come up with a new skeleton and animations for almost all of those.I'm okay with it (aside from the time spent not working on things I actually like, but not everyone is going to agree on everything) if it were completely optional and had absolutely zero impact on actual gameplay. Otherwise... no, no, a thousand times no. The Dark Miasma 'Shadow Fall' power can slow my machine on some maps, after all.
On the point of MM primaries - I heartily agree. Some ideas:
Dogs
Cats (Crazy cat ladies EVERYWHERE the second that goes live)
"Wild" (Wolves, Bears, Lions, etc)
Rodents
Birds
Dragons
Ghosts/Spirits
Plants
Elementals
Shadows
Faeryfolk (Fauns, faeries, pixies, brownies, etc)
Bodyguards (Like Security guards)
So many options.
It takes a lot of work to make a new skeleton- there's only six or so in this game (male, female, huge, spider, tentacle, orb), and they stretch those to the limit already. They can't just make a single quadruped skeleton- horses move very differently from dogs, as dogs do from cats, etc. -
Since all my alts are in a single SG (well, two SGs, I have redside and blueside), it shouldn't be hard to imagine their counterparts are in similar organisations.

You're hearing a lot of meaningless complaining from people who don't understand that this is a heavily instanced game, and can't get used to the fact that the whole population isn't in Atlas Park anymore.
-
And you get extra slots from playing for a long time, and you can buy even more...

About a million new costume options. CO is looking tempting. At least their furries look half-decent.

Making a CoH setting for an existing PnP game, on the other hand...
