Purple recipe drops? (Yes again!)

sorry to drag this up again but have been away for a few weeks and cannot find anything under search

In issue 16, with the new difficulty system, I am running my level 50 toon through regular Radio missions in PI, solo.

I have set the Foe level to -1 and number of Hero's to 8, no bosses and no AV's.

I am getting large spawns, all at level 49, ie conning blue.

Under these circumstances will I have a chance of getting any rare recipe (purples) drops?

I have asked this three times on the in game chat channels and each time got a 50/50 split of YES and NO answers. There is a deal of confusion out there, well at least in game on Virtue at the times I play!

I think that if an enemy is capable of dropping level 50 recipes, it can drop purples.

So I think technically yes... but your chances may be low compared to fighting even-cons or higher.

As long as what you are killing can drop level 50 common Recipes it can also drop Purples. Level does not effect the drop rate at all, only rank does... boss/av has higher pool A drop rate, scaling down for Lt and minion with lowest. Key to getting purples is killing lots of stuff and having good luck with the Random Number Generator.

Agreed. I have gotten a purp off of a 47 in PI on the street. I also have a demon farm set at 49's and have gotten 1 respec and 1 purp. I have a BM set to 8 at +0 and have gotten 3 purps off of. All since I16.

As I have read in the recipes forum, this is what I understand Purple Drops to be:

Anything Lvl 47 or higher can drop a Purple. All enemies have the same drop rate, so it doesn't matter if it is a minion or boss or whatever.

Purples drop at about the rate of 1500-1. While there is some debate about the drop rate changing with overall recipes in i16, this is the established number previously.

That's about it. Basically, to get a Purple, you just need to start killing a LOT of things that are 47-above.

Just a note: Currently there's a bug messing with drop rates. The devs have likely found the source (uninitialized variable teaming with gnomes) so there should be a fix on live before too long.

Considering that I just got a purple drop on a level 47 minion (which was even con to me), yes, you should be able to get purples on level 49 minions. I also immediately sold it for 50 million inf.
