Okay, I'm ready for Radiation Melee

Well....another issue is about upon us and still no Radiation Melee or Armor...

Not that I was expecting it, but it would sure be cool. So as an aside I've decided to use Dark Melee with a green affect, after all it does give a slight Tohit Debuff which will have to be close enough to my non-existent Radiation Melee...

Anyways, anyone else planning on such modifications to suppress their yearning for different "not currently offered" set?

I would like a rad melee/rad armor set as well.

elec/wp with green tint might do it...

Kinda. I'll be making a Radiation/Fire Blaster and tinting the Fire Melee attacks greenish. He's not a tank, but I'm doing pretty much the same thing.

I was thinking about Electric Melee too, with maybe Dark Armor for all the misty bits (colored green of course), but I don't really care for DA's play style. Perhaps Electric M would help with some of the issues.

What I'd really like from a Rad Melee would be opening with the glowing beach ball of doom (Neutron Bomb) then heading in for some green glowing HtH (Shadow Maul or Barrage), that would be cool.... Maybe I can green up Fireball in the Epics or perhaps Energy Torrent...for my "Glowing Ball of Doom".

Just a random (Squirrel!) thought...Mud Pots would work great for a Rad Melee build....

Call me silly, but I really want a Kinetic Armor set. Heavy on targeted powers with the ability to buff your team. Almost like playing a WS with Eclipse.

i'm not against some sound from devices on hands but sound is a wave and it's hard to believe that something powerful enough to deal damage will stay at melee range

comics are against laws of physics most of the time, i know ... but that just sounds weird ^^

Radiation Melee


Tier 1,
Gamma Hands, Single Target, uses EM’s glowing pompom’s of doom (but green!) and Barrage's animation, Slightly less damage, faster recharge, minor Defense Deduff.


Tier 2,
Particle Strike, Single Target, uses Scorch animation, typical tier 2 damage, Debuffs Resistance


Tier 3,
Irradiate, AoE, as Defender power, but lighter on the Defense Debuff.


Tier 4,
Taunt


Tier5,
Electric Haze, AoE cone, low damage, chance to stun.


Tier 6,
Neutron Bomb, AoE as Defender power, slightly more damage, less Defense Debuff and Range.


Tier 7,
Build Up


Tier 8,
Atomic Strike, Single Target, high damage single target, Defense and Resistance Debuff.


Tier 9,
Proton Blast, AoE similar to Thunder Strike, Tanker level damage, slight Defense and Resistance Debuff, no Knockback.

Forget these niche sets. Water powers are where it's at. Blast, control, aura, armor, melee. Tons of untapped potential.

I could go for that. I would rather have the same animation as Shadow Punch though. I was never a fan of Barage's animation.

I dont agree with the stun. I think having this as an AoE attack power, with all the other AoE attack powers would be too much. A cone knockback would keep it in line with other rad attacks.

I think it would need much more damage. Maybe not as much as Fire Sword Circle, but definitely more than Combustion. It would need to be a PBAoE as well. make it a tier 7

I think the Thunderstrike attack would be perfect here.

Either the tier 8 or the tier 9, but not both, would be nice for the resistance debuff. That is just my thinking on it anyways. (I still think it should be defense debuff and leave the resistance debuff out.)

For radiation melee, I could see them all being -resist, but how bout a small -regen portion. Obviously it would have to be carefully weighed, but think about it. you wouldn't be doing any more damage than other tanker sets, but at the same time against bigger foes, (AV's the most obvious) you'd be more beneficial not to mention make them soloable finally.. (if you happened to choose an armor that wouldn't help you out, like fire for example).

Ummmmm.... People have been soloing AVs for some time now. However, it is, and has been, all about the sets you pick, so making a particular set work well for it on purpose wouldn't really change the dynamic of how people currently do it by any appreciable amount.

Can't make a Rad Melee set without Contaminated Strike, the one attack that already exists ingame.
