Creepy crabwalking is back?
Looks like their 'sneaking' to me, I like it.
I agree. The duckwalking looks like they're sneaking around.
Crabwalking is something totally different.
Not sure if this is the same thing or not, but we had a Vaz zombie patrol in a mission last night walking with their arms straight out in front of them instead of the usual loose/at their sides arms they normally have. I kind of liked the new look.

For quite a while a couple of years ago there was a problem in missions in which patrols would use a very unnatural crouching gait that my friends and I referred to as the "crab walk".
I dimly recall it was fixed and banished from the game several issues ago, but lately I've been in quite a few missions in which I've seen its return. Anyone else notice this? Is this posted as a known issue anywhere? |

That's been referred to as "the Frankenstein walk" and I'm pretty sure it's new to i16. I love it! But it's definitely not the same as the crouching-zipping walk I'm referring to. It's sort of like someone is trying to be a stealthy sprinter. Just looks odd to me.

Edit: Stealthy sprinter? Sounds a lot like what the coralax do when they are running, they have a hunched-over, speed-running movement.

I kinda missed the duck walk when it was removed, but when I saw it pop up again recently it just weirded me out all over again.

Yeah. It was weird seeing them zip around so fast using that type of walk, but yet the ones moving slow were always just walking normal. It would have been better if the slow ones used the "sneaking" animation... and I hope it's brought back that way.

I'll keep my eyes open, though.
Loving the Frankenstein walk. I wish we could do that. It'd make a addition for Halloween (imagine entire zones full of heroes/villains doing the Frankenstein walk... awesome!).
I prefer the term "crouch runners" or "crotch runners." I haven't been seeing full spawns doing it like in the old days, but 1-3 out of the spawn on occasion.

The ones I've seen doing it since Issue 16 came out are moving too fast, the way they were before. Definitely not "sneaking" speed.
I've noticed a lot of new animations for mobs when they're just hanging out. The Lost seem to enjoy their nappy time, for example... |
I love all these little things they add in though. Lost taking naps and panhandling while idle, and others pushing wheelbarrels around, and carrying bodybags.
