Hehe thank you^^
Keeping the Defense buff in EA probably wouldn't be too imbalancing.. Since it's not a huge bonus to begin with (7%ish fully saturated/slotted, iirc?) and would be rather tough to keep perma with the recharge hovering around 2 minutes.
Why the heck didn't Doms get the Controller Earth APP, too many redundancies with their Earth Assault set? -
It's been a thorn in my side for awhile, that Defenders (until GR at least) have had no access to a Defense armor power in their APP.
This has been recently remedied with the ability to grab the Corruptor PPPs . But that still requires some extensive side switching in order to receive, which is a bit inconvenient to say the least.
As it stands, the APP set for Defenders is the only (squishy) set that does not have a defense armor.
I originally attribute this to the "Theme" concept the devs had early on. Defenders had no ice or earth powers, so got no Cold of Earthy APPs, and thus, got no S/L defense in their Epics.
So I suggest a Cold APP for Defenders/Corruptors. I'll throw some powers out there that I quickly brainstormed, but this is not my strong suite.
1 - Block of Ice : Balance it accordingly for a Defender hold in their APP
2 - Frost : A Melee cone, similar to the Tanker version. Pump up it's recharge a bit to make it balanced for an APP.
3 - Either Hoarfrost or Hibernate : Both are pretty commonly used in other Epic Pools.
4 - Frozen Armor : Since Defender shield value in their APPs are close to the Tanker counterparts in numbers, this should be around 17%ish to S/L. As well as some res to cold and fire.
5 - Energy Absorption : Might be a bit overpowered using the same version the Tanker gets. I'd increase its recharge to match that of Defender's Power Sink (120). Not sure if the defense boost should remain or not.
So, what do you all think? -
Quote:Haha, I miss when stuff like that happened regularly.. It was like high-level ambushes in low-level zones were almost zone events, and everyone would gather together and try to defeat them.. Usually in vain, or until a high level came in.A long, long time ago. My rad defender just got mutation, a rez power, and was flying back from a mission in Kings Row and I spotted a downed hero in the little clearing with the big rock next to the tram station so I decided I wanted to rez him and as I came in to land next to him I suddenly fell face first into the grass next to him. So I popped a rez and was quickly put back down a second time. Yea debt. This was when debt hurt, a lot.
Confused I looked around and in the tall grass was a Malta Auto Turret. Soon the bodies started to pile up and a crowd of low level characters gathered just outside of agro range of the gun trying various ways to try and take out the gun (blasters sniping, buffed up tanks trying to go toe to toe while being healed from afar). Eventually calls out to a high level group who may have been the Malta's original target came by and quickly dispatched
My most embarrassing moment? happened in SG chat.
I don't remember the details exactly, it was quite awhile ago. I was on a team with a few SG mates, and a player was getting on my nerves. So I started dissing him over SG chat.. Lo-and-behold the player I was dissing was also in my SG, so he heard everything, lol. Had some pretty funny fallout, but I was quite embarrassed. -

You might try switching to a new build (as this resets your active level to 1, and requires you to 'train up' at a trainer). Once you select your level 20 power the EATS might unlock.. Not sure if it will work, but worth a shot.

I think something needs to be done, as it is especially annoying when the above happens.. A couple of ways this suggestion might help;
As stated in the OP, calling out their name might catch their attention
Once you know who has the Acids, you can PM them. This might grab their attention quicker, and it's easier for you to explain what they need to do. (As at this point, the chat box is probably flooded with unhelpful banter about them using the Temp Powers, so much yelling could cause confusion in some people). PMing them directly helps circumvent this..
Lastly, if they had some sorta weird glow, it might catch their attention, as it is easy to miss the "Temp Power obtained" with all the battle spam going on, and remind them to check their temps.
However, its all moot if the person doesn't know basic English, is griefing, or is just totally oblivious.
An idea I had once was for the temp powers to go to a specific person, one who (hopefully) knows what he or she is doing. Perhaps the League leader, or split evenly between the two team leaders. This way, as long as the leaders know a bit about what they are doing (which is no guarantee, but more likely then some random member), there shouldn't be many problems.
Also, I think the League chat should make "beep" noises akin to Team chat, as new messages come in. Making it easier to keep up to date with the chat box in the middle of some crucial moments. -
Quote:My personal favorite is a pair of Empathy/Sonic defenders. The can literally destroy anything. One heal only, with just it's base lvl 1 slot, so you are NOT a healer by any means. Grab 3 leadership toggles, tough/weave, combat jump, and hasten from pools, ss or sj travel, then slot fort for ED cap def and tohit, skip RAs after getting AB, and get ~10% recharge bonus. You then need darkness mastery to complete your awesomeness. Soul drain and two oppressive glooms makes you animals. Your defense capped, +4 tohit capped beasts are now perma 80%+soul drain damage with over 180% global recharge for some serious beat down. Not to mention sonic debuffs resistance for more carnage. A tad light on AoE, but with howl coming up in 3 seconds, it's all you'll need. Oh, and if you didn't know, perma AB/hasten/Soul drain makes for some sickening stuff. Every new power is like a revamp in your abilities, from level 1 on, all the way up to 50, getting soul drain and OG.
Did something similar with a friend of mine.. Though we went Emp/Rads and did a proc-madness build. Sure had a good time, and were easily disposing of 8-man missions. Never tried any AVs though, but I doubt we'd of had the single target DPS for that.
Then, when we did feel like teaming.. We could pretty much keep the entire team forted between the two of us, and our massive recharge, (we'd still AB each other exclusively, but did take the End RA for our teammates, since we could perma it between the two of us) so we just invited like 6 scrappers and let em rip. -
Quote:Ion seems to be the only one. I was able to get someone's damage up to around 2.2k with it, once I capped their damage out with Fulcrum Shift.Unless I was mistaken, I thought that the Judgement powers didn't benefit from Damage buffs (or +Recharge)?
Well, I know you ruled out Blizzard.. but...
An Ice/Kin Corruptor, damage capped via Fulcrum Shift + Blizzard (which also Scourges) probably puts out the biggest damage in the game, even only on a single target.. Granted its not burst. -
I've heard several people with similar problems.. Some crash at the start, some always crash at one of the AVs, some just crash.. a lot.. Crashes, crashes, crashes. Probably something to do with how the game handles the Trials.
Might want to try contacting Support. -
Quote:I don't recall what year IO's came out, so no idea if they were around when you left the game.. But they can make Scrappers pretty darn survivable if you stack up some defense bonuses.
I'm not opposed to starting a new toon, but I'd probably only do it for a tank, brute or scrapper. I generally disliked the scrappers, as they felt way too squishy (and too much focus on single-target) for my tastes... but if there are new ones, please let me know. I always hoped to play one that felt somewhere between a brute/tank in survival.
Thanks ahead of time! -
I don't know if it does or not..
However, if it does, then the boost would be fairly miniscule (since the Res Debuff apparently caps off at about 10%) -
I think you are all being a bit hard on them.. While I wasn't there, so cant say for sure, calling them 'leachers' might be pushing it.. It sounds like (at least one) was trying, failing, but trying. Can you call that leaching?
The fact remains that running a speed ITF as a squishy is fairly tricky. If you're not built for Defense, and you lack a major supply of purples, (or don't know whats going on) you'll be face planting a lot. Especially in that second mission when the ambushes start popping up all over the place.
I'm wagering they didn't even know what a "Speed ITF" meant, but probably should have asked you before hand. -
Quote:I'm still laughing that Marauder's super serum is kept in an enriche bottle.
You and me both lol xD
Woulda been funny if they parodied the Council quote (the one where they talk about their Super Serum) and have him say something along the lines of how he wishes it tasted like Strawberries.
That being said, Dr. Aeon gave me a good lol in the STF. But I've only ran it once, and could see how that joke would quickly wear on a person. -
I've felt this way for a long time.. I understand the need for some sorta 'crash', but what they have now is a bit too much. Maybe if they made it like Rads EM Pulse, it might be better. (-Recovery debuff per target hit). So if you missed a lot, either by the RNG hating you, or someone decided to scatter the mobs the instant before you blew up, your recovery isn't totally screwed.
As of now I almost always skip the nukes on Defenders (unless their primary has some way to make up for the crash, like Kin or Cold), as the damage is far too low to warrant the crash. I'm aware many of them do have some nice secondary effects attached as well, but whether they make up for all your toggles/debuffs dropping is another question.
I *personally* wouldn't mind if they just turned everything into the so called "mini Nukes", like some of the VEATs got. Take the damage down a notch, reduce the recharge some, and scrap the crash entirely.. Granted I'm sure there would be many people against that change. -

King dude: "I only ask that you fight like cats!"
I like how Lion-O doesn't look like a demented Ronald McDonald Cat, but couldn't they have made his hair a bit more.. mane like?
Also, while I have nothing against it.. Why do all these new cartoons have to have a pseudo-anime look? I guess it's just what's in style.
To quote some random youtube dude on a TMNT video "I kinda miss the days when the only sharp edges were on Shredder's armor" -
^Indeed, it almost felt like an after thought to me.. Like the writers had this story all thrown together, then one said "wait, why are the aliens invading earth in the first place?"
-
Thank you kindly for all your kind words people, much appreciated!

I enjoyed the movie for what it was, an action/popcorn flick.. Though the shaky cam made me a bit nauseous.. I was able to tolerate it (unlike District 9, the shaky cam in that movie literally made me sick to my stomach, accompanied by vomiting)...
I thought the water thing was a bit silly though.. Especially when the scientist guy said we had the only liquid water in the Universe.. What? I doubt that..
Also, they stated that the aliens already caused a noticeable drop in the ocean level. In what, 24 hours? If that were the case, then they'd suck our ocean dry relatively quickly, meaning it probably wouldn't of been worth invading Earth to begin with. -
The way I understand it, is that if they allowed you to remove unwanted buffs, you'd also be able to remove unwanted debuffs as well, as the game does not distinguish between the two. Debuffs are simply buffs using negative values.
Not saying it can't be done, but that's the general response to request #3.
Though I wouldn't mind if all 3 of those suggestions made it in-game. -
Heya folks,
I've been itching to make one of my Heroes or Villains in Blender, so I decided to try to take a whack at my fire/kin Corruptor.
I think the results are pretty decent, and I'd like to share it with you all.
First off, my fire/kin corr, in-game.

Let me know what you think, and thanks for taking a look!
Cheers. -
I do feel the whole system is kind of bloated now, there's just too much stuff to keep track of..
I cant imagine what its gonna be like once they unlock all the slots..
New players especially are likely to be confused, as we've had the fortune of learning it as it is slowly fed to us.. but to someone fresh in to game, might be a bit overkill. -
