  1. Nice, and not too pricey. I'd pick different pools than you. When I squirreled around with it making it my own flavor, my def sank to 41 but I think I probably saved a few 100m.

My ice/ice, that I have, not the one I just did the mids on, avoided melee, so not capping any time soon.

I would smile when the glue arrow hit centered on my target. Then everyone showed up and killed the two I had left.

Very fun last night. I like it better when we don't ghost, or if we did, I'll bring my ill/ controller because I don't like sitting at the door /e jugglefire until I get tped.
  3. Oh, and here's a question I asked and got some great answers a while back.

What's the optimal way to slot DA?
    http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=215288
  4. Looked good to me. I'm mostly a cheapo and tried to spread the defense fairly evenly between the FC and EN. I think my EN is right at 40 and my FC is 37 or so. I have DA slotted to 19% so one tap gets me around 42% and I'll spam it every other hit until I'm floating around 60. If it drops, I hit with it. I keep melee def monitored.

None of it means anything without the Rularuu/Rikti/Vanguard sword and an appropriate snappy outfit.

In full blown gorgeous mode, I get 5 fps for about a minute before the system crash. But I'm running a new, one year obsolete box. Just a 9600 GSO and an AMD dual core w 4 gigs. I usually have firefox running in the background too, dropbox, random stuff I always keep on.

I run my graphics in a customized Ultra. Particles are way down and water is all the way up. The character models are also topped out, but everything else is a little meh until I get so I can get no slowdown in normal battle.

Normal battle is not a Rikti invation on the dirt hill. In pre-17, I'd go into N64 mode for those, but it doesn't seem we have total crap graphics mode anymore. I think what used to be slider full right is now the second tick on the slider.
  6. My quicky notes [since I'm usually last there it's best to get a head start]:
    • IP: Investigate Council Base [Defeat All]
    • IP [same door]: Defeat all soldiers in base.
    • Talos: Defeat Base Leader and Guards [Khellum, 3 computers, 1 crate]
    • SC: Run to Fareed Abdulla
    • Skyway: Defeat Base Leader and Guards
    • Sky or Talos: Defeat Base Leader and guards. [No named enemy, usually in southernmost room.]
    • IP: Defeat 40 Council
    • Talos: Defeat All Soldiers in Base and 3 computers.
    • IP: Defeat All Soldiers in Base and 3 computers.
    • Dark Astoria: Defeat All Soldiers in Base and 4 computers.
    • DA, IP, or Talos: Defeat Vandal.
  7. Frankenslotting is the way to go. You can get cheap enh in sets that no-one loves easy. Though in the middle ranges they might be rare, but still cheap. Supply and Demand do not appear to effect these dead babies.

I use acc TOs until DOs. DOs until SOs. SOs to 33, then start doing sets and keeping them in.

Rough extimate, you could do under level 33 for under 100m. Doing normal sets, maybe 200m to 50. Frankenslotting, lower, who knows how low. If there are items for sale but no bidding, always bid just 1 first. You'll be really surprise at the people who don't understand how the market works.
  8. Sixteen is a little early for some of the sets I'll mention, but make sure not to slot too many slots in a power than needs only the one it came with [like IW].

    MoB = Aegis or RA[same]
Fast Healing = 3 Generi-heals. When you get higher you can chage out to two 50 heals and a unique.
    IW = Nothing/EndRed or uniques.

    Disclaimer: My cheapo opinion.
  9. My little thoughts, valid for most of my toons:

    • I add procs and uniques as I go along. When the power is taken, the proc can go in. If the unique has something besides it's special power, then maybe wait, but usually not.
    • Acc TOs, then Acc and some other stuff DOs, then SOs to around 33. Real slotting starts when I can get 35s. That's about where I consider the sets to stop being underpowered.
    • If a set is expensive and tops at 40, I'll frankenslot cheap things until then, then grab it.
    • During the 40s change out random stuff, getting the right slotting down for the level cap. Anything low lev and cheap enough to replace, say, a lev 37 Mako getting upgraded. And not really the whole set at the same time, but sometimes.
Sometimes, being fickle, I'll rip all the enh out of a power and redo it. Divine Avalanche and RttC has this problem. They are important to me so I want them to be optimized, but everything is a compromise, you know.

  11. Thanks for including Trixi Chalk, I don't know how I missed this thread. She's level 46 btw, as it has ??? as her level.

    Council....muah ha ha ha ha.
  12. What I took;
    • Primary: All but Flash and Group Invis.
    • Secondary: All but Steamy Mist.
    • Hasten
    • Hurdle, Health, Stamina
    • Rec Friend
    • Mental Blast

    She is at 41 now.

    Comments on my own build:
    1. Decieve would have been much handier if I took it before 24.
    2. Should have taken Flash rather than Thunder Clap. I can get the same cool animation as Thunder Clap by using Lightning as the costume change emote. And both are about as effective in combat. [the emote and Clap that is.]
    3. I love Sup Invis, but Steamy Mist has that def involved.
    4. All pets are ASAP. Not a mistake I made, just wanted to throw that out there.
    5. Gale sucks. I hate it when people use it.
    6. O2 boost is kinda lame, but you can target your Spec Wounds and Blind through Phantasm and heal him with O2 when you're in bad craziness.
    7. Snow Storm sucks, IMO. But teams I've been on say they like it and it really helps. Well then quit killing my anchor.
    8. Freezing Rain rocks. Proccy proc proc.
    9. Herdicane is interesting and good at times. I could have skipped, really. Not part of my gameplay except in bad craziness.
    10. Thunder Clap. Might as well clap your hands at your monitor, does as much good.
    11. Tornado. Most irritating pet that's useful ever. Also funny.
    12. Lightning Storm. Also very fun, but a little meh for a teir 9. But I really dig it.
    13. Some teams will get irritated that you're dominating everything with your mad chaos. I've had a tank/team leader tell me to not use any of my pets anymore. I stopped, the team wiped, I left.
ill/storm is the most uncontrollery controller, or it feels that way. But spec terror can lock them down. Very fun AT, very chaotic.

I have my search text "ill/storm Lord of Chaos." I also warn teams of what I am. I've always gotten "that's cool" or "what does that mean, exactly."
  13. Good job.

Don't let others tell you it's not an accomplishment. It is.

And with this much loot, it's pretty easy to make more.

    Muah ha ha ha ha.

I cut out a lot of the high priced stuff but you obviously are crazy about the regen, so I left the uniques in health. I may have broken the rule of fives on the recharge, but recharge is your friend. I really didn't dig what you did with power sink, but I've never slotted it before and don't feel like fitting the pieces in a frankenslot. I changed your buildup and aim to generi-recharges and put the RectReticule unique in with Aim. Better to have the damage more than a little regen, imo. Better to not take the damage than heal from it faster. Death of enemy = problem solved. Changed your pet to a cheaper set getting you more rech, which I already said I might have broken the rule of fives. Your fly slotting freaks me out, but you like regen.

On and electric^2, which I have one I've stalled at 20 or so, I'd build on damage, acc and rech, in that order. He'll have no problem with end, so all the insp you pick up can be "combine 3 into"ed into greens. And with the new market changes, you can bid on a whole stack of isnp where you did have to take up tons of slots to get any. And remember, you can buy up cheap large insp and combine three, often for cheaper than that one green costs.

My playstyle, on all my toons, really doesn't need much heal insp. Though I keep the temp power Etherial Shift on several, or Hyperphase. If I ever have to run, the team's dead anyway.

(no offense intended to whoever that was, by the way, if they're reading this.)

Alas, my computer sucks and I have a hard enough time keeping my FPS above 10 as it is when I've got my debuffs on something and my PAs & Phantasm are going all-out, much less when on teams , so I would've declined even if I hadn't thought it was a mistaken tell. Oh, well.
Not I on asking people to join the Fire/Rads. When we only had four show up I did a shout in Talos for Frads and Kul /t me back. I asked the team if a Mrad could join and they said it was up to me. I let him. Then we got our sixth and six is good for me. If Hyper had gotten in about 20 minutes early he'd be on the team too.

An ill/rad is a little too much of a departue, and honestly, your pets would be worthless. Six people with six stacked AM running Hot Feet, spamming Fire Cages and Char on enemies who are already stunned by, often stacked, Flashfire. We kill everything nearly intstantly.

Best quote, probably quoted above in this thread. I think it was Zero said, "I'd heard stories [about only fire/rad teams], but I never imagined..."

The one time we got a tank, he complained endlessly about us killing all his stuff.

  16. Posi: Rule of Three in 54 minutes.

Five Frads and a Mrad, he's the big one.

We killed the dopplegangers in about four seconds, after we got over our fear of approaching them.

    No ghosting, we killed everything.

Next week, dirt hill, Talos, 8 central.
  17. We smacked the Posi: Rule of Three in 54 min. No ghosting.

[Well, I did stealth inside the lobby to check things out.]

We killed the dopplegangers in about four seconds after we got over our fear of approaching them.

I didn't get the names of everyone and I'm horrible with names. Grease was there, and Zero, and...ah...I don't want to get the names wrong...I wanna say Heat Induction...

In any case, the big guy, Kul, is a Mental/Rad who joined up. He was not fun in caves.

    Picture:

  18. Dunno.

Not only do I not know about the build stuff, I'm also not sure why there were no responses. I've had it happen a few times, but mostly when I post stuff no one is interested in. Like my Fire/Ice softcap thing [which I'm not going to do, I'd rather her have more gusto than defense.]

Also, people like me, we can't follow that link and get the build at work. But a datachunk works. Some people can't even have Mids at work [even though it runs off a portable drive, but you have to keep it from making the directory in your Documents folder.]
    1. I took my 50 and made her second build a "joke" by taking all the kb attacks I could and then slotted them for acc and kb. Ho ho, so funny.
    2. I took the same toon and respecced her into a build I found on this forum which looked great in Mids. Then I found out the prices. It would cost around 3.4 billion. I don't love any of my toons that much. I gradually figured out a way to make the build work, but regretted it had too many travel powers for me, or maybe just flight.
    3. Same toon, I picked MA/Inv in the first place. I should have named her Bulldozer, because that's what she feels like in comparison to most of my toons.
Not a mistake, but man, I miss my Jingle Jets.
  19. Do what you want.

You know some will get upset at the lack of the buff. You know some won't notice.

It would make more sense on Virtue, especially if you said everything ((in double parenthesis)).

You also have a second build that you can make your "service toon" and have all the nicities. I have toons I take rec friend and make them able to ghost a mission. My Fire/Rad is that way. She's a regular convenience store.
  20. I've never run into anything like the OP. But, my graphics card, even with the graphics cranked down to N64 mode, can't handle the Rikti on the dirt hill in Talos.

And since, something, I've changed too much recently, either i17 or Win7 or both, Sometimes the computer crashes. Not the game, I get a frozen screen and a tight loop of whatever sounds were happening at the time. Not changing zones, not in combat, usually just doofing around, and of the six or so times it's happened, only once on a team. Always in a zone and not a mission map.

    Evil Clown faction maybe?
  21. Any.

I find Freedom very freindly and the broadcast spamming idiocy in Atlas will be just like Middle School. I started on Liberty, which is OK, but I prefer the busier/city feel of Freedom.

Keep the profanity filter on, I guess. She's 13, not six.
  22. There is a great graphic map of how the trains run, Ouro portal and Pocket-D, etc. I'll see if I can find it.

    As for regular travel:
    1. Ninja Run is great and worth the $10, despite the reasonably cool Ninja clothes and the ability to do pushups.
    2. Raptor Pack [Rocket Backpack]: At ANY level you can enter the Vanguard Building, V on Atlas Map, and go through the portal to the Ritki War Zone. Once through, just turn around and go back into the portal, but choose Perigrine Island. Fire Base Zulu is clearly labeled on the map. Make it your destination and run on the centerline of the roads. Do not get off the centerline. It takes a while. But, due to the no one-shot death rule, if you do get hit by the sniper right before the gate, you'll just go down to 1 hp, even if he hits you for 1200 [which is about right]. Enter the Portal Co doors, turn right, go through the portal, turn left and then look right and see the Raptor Pack vendor. 10k gives you 2hrs of 29mph flight. If you did want to go through PP easy, you could. Then, of course, fly back to Vanguard and get back to Atlas.
    3. Alternate to Perigrine Island run for Raptor: Buy the temp power recipe and craft it. Off topic, but Etherial Shift is also really handy.
    4. If you've made a Kin/ defender or /kin controller, speed boost Syphon Speed is nice.
    5. Do bank missions with people in Kings Row and get temporary powers there. Jump packs rock, etc.
    6. Isn't there also some stuff you can buy at the Arena in Pocket-D?

    Mid's Question

Do you have at least 1.6.something or 1.7.something?

Other than that, I got nothin'.
  24. I'm kinda repeating what I said on the Controller Forum...

That's cool, we'll run the new Posi if we get someone at the right lev showing up. I'll still be able to ghost with the powers only to 20 and have my char, hot feet, flash, cages, at that lev.

If not, if anyone has a TF they want to do or anything else specific like the time we hunted Warwolves for the Atlas thing.

We could keep it casual with Talos Radio mishs. We'd be able to change the diff so we weren't nearly at a full run as we plowed through enemies like we tend to do on TFs.

See you on the Talos dirt hill at 8p.
