Well...good or bad, I slotted mine like this:
Level 16: Rise to the Challenge
(A) Dark Watcher's Despair - Chance for Recharge Slow: Level 29
(21) Dark Watcher's Despair - To Hit Debuff: Level 48
(23) Healing IO: Level 45
(46) To Hit Debuff IO: Level 45
(46) Harmonized Healing - Heal/Endurance: Level 40
(46) Harmonized Healing - Heal: Level 40
I was shooting to max both attributes and throw a little endred in there too.
Enhancement percents:
EndRed 24.13%
Heal 95.48%
ToHit Debuff 48.37%
Totals for the power:
50.8% regen per enemy (woot)
133.3% Accuracy [Edited to Add: enhanced due to set bonuses elsewhere.]
-5.56% ToHit Debuff
0.17/s Endurance
Bonuses (kinda lame):
Dark Watcher's Despair
(Rise to the Challenge)
20.1 HP (1.5%) HitPoints
Harmonized Healing
(Rise to the Challenge)
1.5% (0.03 End/sec) Recovery
I figure as long as I have RttC running for the regen, why not give them a 5% ToHit Debuff. It's on everyone in melee range, and I don't have to cast it or anything, it's there.
If there's a better way, I'm all for it, and my stuff is cheap so changing it out is no biggie. -
I'm missing this week too. Signed up for Luna's ITFaganza [4 teams] that night. I'm hoping this will get my katana/wp to 50. [She's 48.]
-
Verifying, yep, Trixi Chalk, who's now 48, might be a 50 by Thursday.
Don't forget to put Tulipsniper up there as an alt. -
Nothing is better than Katana. Read up about it. I hit twice with DA and my melee and lethal is capped. Just hit it again every 10 seconds and you stay that way. And that's if I had -2 def before. And I often pop a purple heading into crazy crap, and will hover in the 80s doing my normal chain [both attack and defense in my mind.]
/wp and katana work great together. Slotting the attacks and resistances you could accidentally cap E/N. RttC and DA can make you have a donut of enemies surrounding you, doing nothing, as you chop through them.
I don't think my toon can die. I'll stop, surrounded, and type a response to someone, my melee damage, which I monitor, drops to around 12 and I get pummeled, but RttC heals so fast, and with fast healing, health, etc. It's a great combo.
Some people say it's like training wheels. Nah, it's really fun but it is a little easy, because it's overpowered. [shhhh]. Definately roll one, even if it's not going to be your favorite toon.
I thought mine wouldn't be. I was just cranking out differet ATs and made a katana/wp, naming her the odd name of Trixi Chalk. She's going to be my second 50, either during the ITF I'm going on Monday or the day after as I fight the wall to take care of the last bit.
The only AT I think I like more is a Fire/Ice blaster. The two are totally different.
I have also been dissapointed in Claws. /wp and /electricity. I've been underwhelmed by DB, and I'm deterimined to get a spines to whatever level the suck will stop at.
Katana is pretty fun from Outbreak to 50. Plus, weapon customizations ftw. -
DAmmit all, dammit dammit dammit.
Just bought a 7.5 last week at the merit gal...level 49. Feh. -
I hate the Mu and whichever CoT dude that can turn my defense upside down. Oh, and Shamen. I'd chop them into bits and feed them to their own stupid masks if I could. Grrr.
Sappers are fine with me if I manage to see them before we engage.
[I need to make a bind /bind alt+numpad0 "Blasters, please target through me as I try to kill this $target."] -
-
Also, if someone quotes the blocked person, you'll see that.
Twenty-Three minutes is too long for a response in an online forum? Ever occur to you that many reading the post didn't know the answer? -
There are two pretty cheap IOs that will get you -4 on that KB. [edit: deleted wrong crap here.] One is def and the other is resist.
I slot the def in Obsidian Shield. Seems normal to put it there since that's where it's lacking.
I couldn't take Acrobatics. Seems very inefficient. I might be wrong. -
-
I don't wanna volunteer for leading, as I've only done this twice, but I'd like to get Trixi Chalk, level 46 katana/wp, in on this. That outfit is sweet.
I thought that ITF was only for 45+. Heck, I need to drag out some of the alts.
Edited after looking at wiki: I want Romulus's shoulder pads. -
To get a little off topic, but not much, I've always considered Tactics and FA to be similar. And if I'm getting Vengeance, which I've never done but plan to, I have to either take Maneuvers or Tactics [ I have no problem taking Assault, wish everyone did.]
Does Tactics suck also?
I tend to slot the Rectified Recticule +20% perception and the Kismet +6% acc [tohit...] but haven't taken any perception/acc/tohit powers besides targeting drone on a /dev. -
-
While I respect the opinions of the people from low population servers, as I did get my first and only 50 on Liberty, if you're doing our lame and limited trial, get on Freedom.
I don't suggest Virtue at first, as you'll think we're all insane with the Role Players [in caps for emphasis of their insanity.] Or, just for fun, go to Pocket-D, the blue side lounge, at night and see the embarrasment. No real offense to you RPers, but omgwtflol.
Our crappy trial keeps you under level 15. I can get to 15 in a few hours [Sewer, then Radio in SC]. You also can only have 50k of influcence [money]. You can buy exactly squat with that.
Please don't judge Freedom by Atlas Park. Please. Pleeeez. Also, a tip, if you put in your search text that you're on trial and can't do PMs, people will blind invite you more. I normally frown, and don't take, blind invites, but as a trial, you have to, which is also sad.
The game is great and even moreso if you have a great graphics card. Watch for zone alerts and find some giant monsters or a Rikti Invasion. It's the only way you'll face the Rikti when on a Trial. And they're my favorite enemy faction. Well, I do like council because they're so easy to pummel to mush.
OH, and not going into detail, one thing you can buy with 10k is a Raptor Pack in Fire Base Zulu. Get there from Atlas via the Vantguard buliding. Use your maps and you'll have no problem finding the guy. [stay on the centerline of the road in Perigrine Island or you'll die very quick.] Raptor Pack = Flight at level 1 if you had the cash [which you can get by selling the isnprirations you got in Outbreak. Right now the heal is going for 111k, which you can't actually hold...hmm.]
I'd tell you to check the global channels or pm me and I'd give you a tour [but I got a task force scheduled for tonight], but you can't pm. I tell ya, we have the lamest trial, and for such a cool game. -
Quote:The only reason I ever visit Warburg is to get the Hyperphase, 30 minutes of phase in 30 second chunks. I'm also keeping a stack of Etherial Shift [about 100k total to craft] which only gives you five 30 second phases, but it keeps me from using the Hyper, which can only be replentished 3 times. However you solve the stealth, I kinda like the thought of taking concealment since it opens phase for you. Which is a handy power depending on your AT and playstyle, and it certainly fits into the ghost theme.
I like being the nice guy with Grant Invis, but I don't trust it when people do the same for me.
Off to read about Dark/Sonic defenders. I already know claw/dark off the top of my head, roughly. And then to play with Mids for a while [though I tend to go second build after a while anyway.]
Again, thanks much guys. I never would have considered a defender. My only ones are a kin/AR [fun, but kinda odd] and an archer. -
Wird:
And Energy^2 can manage just fine by only using the knockback when it makes sense, using walls to stop the baddies, or just plain killing the ones kbed. Mine has never been complained to, in fact once I was on a team the leader actively sought others of my ilk. With three on the team, it was just plain dumb funny.
CMA:
Yeah, and with GvE and Ninja, you can repeatedly jump though the air, essentially flying, but at the jump cap, not the fly cap. I think the fastest I have gone is 63 or so on a lv 46.
IMO, Ninja Run is a true travel power. SS lacks vertical movement without using the raptor pack. SJ is just like a tall NR that takes up a power. Fly is the only one that remains unique, as you can chat while poking through the sky, immune to enemies and all terrain, and also getting to the mission last. Unless a SS fell in a fissure or something. [har har har] -
Quote:Which is very important to know before buying things.Sure, they might stack... if it were possible to put more than one on your character at all
I wasted some of my paltry cash not understanding that in the first month I was playing. Not on uniques, but just that I couldn buy three Entropic Dam/Acc and slot them in teh same power. -
Stealth power + IO = invis
Super Speed + IO = Invis
Stealth power + SS = invis
Stealth Power + IO + SS = too much invis
Sup Invis = best invis in game, alone, it's at the cap
Other secondary stealths = same as Stealth pool power approx enough
Buff Invis from others = don't trust it, it'll wear off at the wrong time.
I like option 1, but I think I might go #2 on one toon. [/e beavislaugh] -
If you know the term noob, you aren't one. You are, however, a lowbie until you get to 20ish.
So, what's your archetype? For a new person, I'd suggest a blaster or scrapper. Neither has responsibility to the party and both dish the pain. If a blaster, you might want to target through melee to help them survive, maybe kill off stragglers who go after your team's buff/mezzers. Scrappers can just go berzerk and faceplant and no one will think anything of it. [but combine three into rez at all opportunities. There are even binds for it.]
As for blowing more cash, since you seem to like the game, Ninja Pack has that squatting run that boosts you abotu 18 mph starting at level 4. Also some swank costumes.
I forget which addon has the Pocket-D tp...I think Good v Evil. Besides, that has the Sinister Boots. [Sinister boots ftw.]
Oh, and welcome. -
Quote:The dark powers are fine, and as said you can keep the fade off, but I can never get the dark energy to look good white or a lighter color. He's going to be solid white. I have a stalled fire/kin gal who looks great, but I don't really dig the fire/kin role in the game [SB vending machine until flip-a-switch-win.]I suppose Dark Armor is out of the question, considering how its stealth also replaces your character's costume with Fluffy the Dark Servant.
PB would be swank, though I'd feel doofy if I didn't take the sqid at 6 or dwarf at 20. I've deleted every PB/WS I've ever made. I just don't dig them much. [edit: and you can't color the purple warshade stuff and they can't fly.]
I'll look into the defenders you guys mentioned. Might even cosider letting him have a bow. Thanks.
[edited: I thought about claws/ though it's a strange thing for a ghost. No dev for ghost, too strange. Seems the /dark scrap is something good. If so, he'd do his invisi-hovering while he idles around. ... PB is starting to look better.] -
Stamina = ASAP. By 20, just in case you run Positron TF, which you will. If you don't have it at 20, you're going to hate it. I've not had it happen, but I've had my stale SOs go red during a TF.
I never take self heal and never use hasten if I get it. If I do, I put it on automatic.
Lately I've been making stealther/ghosters. So concealment and an IO in a sprint. Many put the IO in SS, which Hasten leads right into, but I smack into walls. And to ghost a mish, you need recall friend. So there's two, no matter how you slice it. But don't get stealth and SS. Buy the IO. Yes, it costs too much, but if that's a thing you need get it. [that said, I break my own rules constantly.]
If you don't mind the Frozen Armor look, and take the icy route for epic pool, and don't mind the expensive KC, etc, to cap your s/l defense, then you must take Fighting. Boxing isn't that bad for a blaster melee help, kinda. And tough is very useful. I wish it were easier to build for resistance as reisstance always works and defense, no matter how good, is rolling the dice.
Vengence. Everyone disses it, but when it's used against you it totally sucks. And folks are gonna die. Same concept as taking something like assault, someone should do it. When you get up in levels you start picking random crap anyway. [Or I do, which is the worst time to screw up, when you have the good IOs in place already so the second build would be a pain.]
I always wanted to take Force Mastery, but never could bring myself to do so. Oh, an never getting a blaster to 41 has something to do with that too. -
Fire/Ice is my favorite. I turned off XP at 25 [should have waited to 29] just so I could play her at the Talos Radio level more.
My standard, but not necessarily optomized, pre-Shiver attack: BU+Aim+Rain+FBall+Fbreath+whatever+burn it down, down down.
I reccomend tinting your flames so your team knows exactly how kick booty you are.
I don't take the swords because it makes no sense that my toon could manifest them. And I dread taking Frozen Armor for the def later. I hate ice armor and resent it when people mess up my costume by encasing me in ice.
Rain should be good for procs, but I get rising clouds of orange fours with the Bu+Aim before it.
Again, very fun. But your AoE will bring the enemies for miles. But Blaze gets them on the way there, FBall can be a pretend melee, etc. I used ranged as melee, they work just as good, except breath.
After your alpha strike, I tend to target through a melee toon. Though it can be frustrating if you're killing things before they get there. And they know it's me with my white fire.
Do it! Do it! Do it!
Not my original graphic and I know I posted it last week or so:
-
I originally made him as a MA/Electric. Not horrible for a ghost concept, but really doesn't seem to fit. I don't want to make him in to a tank, because I don't want him to have to tank.
The only oddities I'd prefer is that he might be able to hover while totally invisible. Now, there are IOs for the fly pool, but I don't want him to have SS feet while doing it, so 2 pools are sunk in that, fly and concealment. And why be a ghost if you can't recall friend, so third pool is taken. And really, stamina is an ASAP, so no pools available. [I have Ninja Run, fwiw.]
I kinda wanted him to be weaponless...
Ideas?
