Do +Stealth IOs stack?
Also of note, the stealth IOs are mutually exclusive. You cannot have more than one in a build.

Stealth power + IO = invis
Super Speed + IO = Invis
Stealth power + SS = invis
Stealth Power + IO + SS = too much invis
Sup Invis = best invis in game, alone, it's at the cap
Other secondary stealths = same as Stealth pool power approx enough
Buff Invis from others = don't trust it, it'll wear off at the wrong time.
I like option 1, but I think I might go #2 on one toon. [/e beavislaugh]

"Life is what happens when you are making other plans"
Pretty much what it says; just wondering if you can get "full invisibility" by stacking, say, the Celerity and Unbounded Leap IOs. I'm assuming "nuh uh", but figured I'd ask anywho.

Sure, they might stack... if it were possible to put more than one on your character at all

I wasted some of my paltry cash not understanding that in the first month I was playing. Not on uniques, but just that I couldn buy three Entropic Dam/Acc and slot them in teh same power.
Unless you are working on PvP stealth, in which case you want all that you can get if you are trying to cap.
|
Getting to the Stealth cap is A) Pretty easy, and B) Pretty pointless, because +Perception is readily available to anyone in the form of Tactics.
Well, at least it used to be pretty easy, I haven't bothered to find out how hard Diminished Returns smacks stacked stealth powers.

In pvp this is untrue. And its also why pp invis is the pwnsauce.
Duel me.
I will work on my sig pic more when I have time.

But you didn't answer his question

Stealth for non-stalker characters caps at 571 feet. Base perception is 500 feet.

No. Well...yes and no...
They are all Unique. I mean very unique. Slotting +Stealth from one set will lockout +Stealth from the other sets(Slotting +Stealth from Celerity will lock out +Stealth from Unbounded Leap, Soaring and Time/Space Manipulation).
One trick that occurs(and not likely intended) is it will stack with itself if slotted in an active toggle when you zone. Each zoning will add another 30' stealth, but each extra 30' will disappear every 120 seconds.
The plastic tips at the end of shoelaces are called aglets. Their true purpose is sinister.

The description clearly states in big red letters that the stealth IOs are mutually exclusive.
Yeah, I didn't have access to the game at the time of the post, so I couldn't read the descriptions. Thanks for the info, folks!
So, basically, in terms of PvP, you have no idea what you are talking about, but just decided to post anyway? Yeah?

Sonic/Devices Blaster w/Cloaking Device + Stealth IO = 571.5 feet
BS/DA Scrapper w/Cloak of Darkness + Stealth IO = 571.5 feet
Fire/Fire Blaster w/Invisibility + Stealth IO = 571.5 feet
Illusion Controller w/Superior Invisibility = 571.5 feet.
I have tested the stealth cap extensively, monitoring the numbers while I do so. In PvP the cap for anything not a stalker or VEAT is 571.5 feet. This is a FACT, not just my opinion. You can log in and check it yourself if you don't believe me.
As far as ease of getting there, I haven't tested it lately, but I can't imagine it's all that difficult even now.
My statement of it being pretty useless stems from personal experience. With all 4 of the characters I listed that I have tested with, it didn't make much difference at all whether I was at the stealth cap or not. Sure, you can be invisible to people with no added perception, but how many PvP characters have no added perception? Especially since it is available to everyone. The +Perception IO puts your perception at 600 feet before Diminished Returns, that's just simple math (500 + 20%), and Tactics raises it even higher than that.
So, in my experience, being at the stealth cap did me no good at all. It didn't stop me from being attacked, because just about everyone in the zone saw right through it. And any time *I* attack it strips all that stealth away.
So, the stealth cap being 571.5 feet is inarguable fact. It being pretty pointless in PvP is my opinion based on personal experience.

stalker hide is best invis in game.
followed by superior invis. |
Just look at the numbers:
Superior Invisibility: 200' PvE (does not suppress while attacking/being attacked), 1000' PvP.
Hide: 150' PvE, 500' PvP.
The last time I had a math class, 200 > 150, and 1000 > 500.
Unsuppressed Hide is the best AoE defense toggle in the game, though, with a base defense of 37.5%.
it has gone from unconscionable to downright appalling that we have no way of measuring our characters' wetness.
|
Is Superior Invis a toggle or a click?
Because I think that will make a difference.
Considering Hide is a Toggle with an End Cost of 0 that could even out the 50' difference in PvE.

I did ignore the 0 end/sec cost of Hide, but I feel that ignoring it is justified - I know that I'd love for my Stalkers to not be able to be knocked out of Hidden status by silly things like attacking or being hit (and yes, I am aware that hidden status is seperate from suppressing stealth - but the two are tied together by the same events in-game).

Problem with Stalkers not being knocked out of Hidden is the effects being Hidden has on Stalkers attacks.
Now if Hidden were somehow separated from Stealth suppressed...
