Pros/cons. Build ideas. Personal opinions. Lemme know it all guys.

It lets you use rain of fire, therefore it is win.

Shiver and buildup. Not much else worth writing home about, but not much more you really need.

ice patch is good too, but takes forever and a day to cast.

Chilling embrace is ok if you plan to be in melee much, but /ice's melee attacks kind of suck.

Fairly solid combo, where the secondary provides the mitigation the primary lacks (apart from killing fast that is). Shiver has excellent synergy wih Rain of Fire. Freezing Touch has good synergy with any single epic pool hold. Ice Patch is great mitigation solo or on smaller teams if used for corner pulls or centered around a static tank. It tend to lose some/much of its edge in endgame play though. The Fire/Ice combo also tend to lose the edge if you plan on making an expensive defensive IO-set build; it makes you wish you'd taken a secondary with either more damage or different utility.

In short, I agree with everything Frosticus said but would like to add that eventhough /Ice melee kina sucks; the Ice Sword looks pimp!

Yes it does, it made for a very good looking angel warrior design on my fire/ice. I hardly ever used it prefering to stay at range, but looked cool.

Slow stuff down then burn it, and drop enemies that get too close on their butts with Ice Patch. Plus you get a hold to slap on anything that reaches melee range if you want to take it. Should be a decent combo... I'd suggest going Cold for your APP because Shiver + Snow Storm + Rain of Fire should be great and all that -recharge should be decent mitigation.

Cascade, level 50 Blaster (NRG/NRG since before it was cool)
Mechmeister, level 50 Bots / Traps MM
FAR too many non-50 alts to name

I love it. I tend to burn things, then slow the survivors, but that's sort of a matter of taste.

Shiver is a ridiculous cone (nearly half a circle, eighty feet long) that can stack with itself to put people at the rech/runspeed floor very fast. If it's not the best mitigation Blasters have, it is very close.

Fireball/Firebreath drops even-con minions even without Aim or Build Up. You'll get a lot of five second fights- not that you'll WIN all of them, but they'll be short either way. And you'll win more with practice.

I play a little more aggressively than most, but I love this combo. Love love love.

Fire/Ice is my favorite. I turned off XP at 25 [should have waited to 29] just so I could play her at the Talos Radio level more.

My standard, but not necessarily optomized, pre-Shiver attack: BU+Aim+Rain+FBall+Fbreath+whatever+burn it down, down down.

I reccomend tinting your flames so your team knows exactly how kick booty you are.

I don't take the swords because it makes no sense that my toon could manifest them. And I dread taking Frozen Armor for the def later. I hate ice armor and resent it when people mess up my costume by encasing me in ice.

Rain should be good for procs, but I get rising clouds of orange fours with the Bu+Aim before it.

Again, very fun. But your AoE will bring the enemies for miles. But Blaze gets them on the way there, FBall can be a pretend melee, etc. I used ranged as melee, they work just as good, except breath.

After your alpha strike, I tend to target through a melee toon. Though it can be frustrating if you're killing things before they get there. And they know it's me with my white fire.

Do it! Do it! Do it!

Not my original graphic and I know I posted it last week or so:

I feel the same way, being able to colour epic pool powers would alleviate matters a bit though. Especially if the devs added an unobtrusive base choice along with bright and dark.
