I enjoy scrappers and corruptors the most.
After that it's probably defenders.
Dead last are masterminds, tanks, blasters, controllers, and dominators.
Everything else is kinda middle road for me. -

The bind for RTTC in PVP is the same as in PVE
/bind key "powexec_name Rise to the Challenge"
Or if you wanted to do the exact same thing but make yourself look smarter:
/bind key "powexec_toggleon Rise to the Challenge$$powexec_toggleoff Rise to the Challenge" -

I didn't realize I needed domination to completely nullify a group of minion/LT class enemies by level 8 (or whatever level you get static field at) without SOs.
On the plus side, it still affects Tesla Cage :P -
Herding? What's that? *Static Field* *Jolting Chain*

So what you're saying is you want an AT that normal players won't ever get access to because they usually don't get far enough to run hamidon raids or gather every single badge in existance so you and a select handful of people can run around feeling special?
No thanks.
And they don't need to be super powerful. Epic means storyline driven, not HOLYOMGOVERPOWERED.
Also, this paragraph right here:Quote:So yes, you did suggest an AT that the majority of players won't be able to play.In my opinion, and it is only my opinion, I think there should be an epic arch type for both sides that you don't get just for "being level 50". I don't know what you would have to do to unlock it, maybe be a part of a big team effort like a Hami raid, or have x many badges, or a certain type of badge to prove you did something. Heck maybe even a certain number of vet badges? (Just NO PvP badges!) Maybe not exactly fair, but come on it's meant to be epic? a Veteran play style. I know the VEATs and HEATs are meant to be "difficult" and "tougher" to play then other ATs and that's what makes them Vet toons, but we need something conceptually more powerful. My idea? Ultimate Evil, Ultimate Good. something along those lines. -
Quote:Defense debuffer? Just throw a dark miasma in there and things die too fast to need defense debuffs.I do believe that even ITF required a small amount of tactic. Every team I lead, I always insisted on having a defense debuffer. More particularly, a Rad def/corr. Helped even more when I was playing my kin def.
Before it required tactics, sure, especially the end fight.
Now? Nah. People can just zerg rush the final boss even with his insane healing and still kill him. -
Tactics? The TFs before didn't require tactics. The only thing they had going for them was being stupidly long and maybe having an OP enemy group.
Now they aren't stupidly long, still don't require tactics, and still might have an OP enemy group.
I suppose the only thing you could say tactics to are the STF/LRSF...Even the shadow shard TFs didn't take tactics; only a days worth of your time. -
I'm no expert, but since you're a corruptor (and dark miasma at that) you can easily not get boxing, tough, or weave. Reason being you aren't meant to be in melee taking hits.
I'd move howling twilight back a bit. You don't need to take it that early. I'm leaning towards not bothering with taking Swap Ammo, since the extra elemental damage doesn't really do much...I'm not sure on its debuff numbers, though.
I've also never personally seen the point in hasten. Sure, it helps your recharge, but that'll only help with what? Tar Patch? My D3 has it recharge fast enough so that I can always have one out anyway, and if not that, then just a few seconds of downtime. Darkest Night? Don't use it on easily killed enemies (IE. Save it for EBs/AVs/GMs) Fluffy? Again, with recharge slotting it's basically a perma pet anyway, and you shouldn't be using it for damage.
I'd swap empty clips for pistols. It's faster, costs less endurance, and can still take the resistance debuff IO. Besides, your build is pretty recharge heavy when it comes to the ST attacks, which is where DP shines, IMO. It's AoEs are weak and shouldn't be your main attacks.
If you must have combat jumping/tough for IOs, then by all means. For travel, though, you can easily get away with just swift/hurdle/ninja run/sprint.
But hey, if I'm wrong, then by all means the build gurus around here can correct me. I don't mind. -
Yes, the difficulty has changed, but it's not so hard that it makes IOs and sets mandatory.
I still use SOs (Heck, I use level 25 IOs that are what? 6% less effective than SOs?) and do just fine on any of my characters. Yes, praetoria is hard on new characters, but thats because you aren't fighting enemies that only have a single attack on a 5 second cooldown anymore. Once you figure that out and start trying to kill/weaken enemies at range before they get to melee, it gets easier.
As for the super stunners...I like them mainly because before the Freakshow were a complete joke. Now they can actually put up a fight. -
Repulsing Torrent is skippable, I think Focused Shot could be skipped too, unless it's Focus (claws) level good.
In elec armor you of course want your three shields, grounded for KB/Immob protection, lightning reflexes because who doesn't like faster recharge and movement speed, the heal for obvious reasons, and that's as far as I've gotten with elec armor so far.
Theres a debate over whether KM does its -damage all the time or only under the effects of siphon power. Speaking of siphon power: GET IT! It is your best friend. Aside from that, Quick Strike knocks down, so you can find a cheap KB +chance for smashing damage IO to put in there to help make up for it's lack of damage. -
it's auto hit, from what I can tell.
Imagine your dark armor scrapper being defeated, having one badguy in range, using your rez, but missing. LULZ
Anyway, it's more than -recovery. It does a significant amount of damage and drains about half of your endurance without any end drain resistance. I'd say it's a bit much, but then I'd get chewed out by those that want the game harder. -
I'm hurt that I wasn't mentioned at all :P
But yeah, I guess it makes sense, seeing as compared to some people here, I'm still the newbie of the GA. Plus I hardly talk when it comes to RPz, so I'm overshadowed easily as well.
But yeah...At the moment we're still working on whats up with the group and all that. -
Welcome to Virtue, don't forget to feed the catgirls and leave your sanity at the door.

Isn't it based on your character's archetype?
Corruptors, Stalkers, Brutes, masterminds, dominators unlock VEATS regardless of what side they choose?
Though, I did hear somewhere that a praetoria character can not unlock EATs, and you'll have to make a hero/villain. -
Quote:I think you're in the wrong game.Have you noticed that all the Praetors in Praetoria use their full names publicly? Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but don't most members of the Freedom Phalanx have secret IDs? I figure that it took less than a day after Praetorians started to arive on Prime before the secret was out.
What kind of fallout do you there there should/will be from their real names suddenly becoming public knowledge? Will the Hellions try to torch Synapse's trailer, or the Council go after Manticore's finances? And speaking of Manticore, won't this make it much easier to tie him to Wyvern?
This isn't a comic book where everyone has secret identities and can keep them by wearing their costume underneath a business suit, while wearing glasses.
This is what's called an "MMO." Logic doesn't apply.
PS. Pinny is actually my character's real name. Shadewing isn't, Grimwing isn't. Lilly Umbra is, Leslie Dreadwing is her first but not her last (though her last is close to her real last). Be sure to have your villains look them up, because all of the above don't have family you can ransom in order to draw them out. You won't catch any of my characters off guard in order to capture them, and they don't have any weaknesses to some kinda jewel you can find randomly lying around their homes. -
I'm partial to Dual Pistols/Dark Miasma, myself.
It might not be the best late game because everything resists lethal damage, but it's pretty fun to play and has it's own stun/hold (depending on if you play with or without an ammo power)
When it comes to dark miasma in teams, I don't bother using Darkest Night, since even LTs/Bosses die fast. The only time I'll use Darkest Night is on an Elite Boss/Arch Villain.
That still leaves Tar Patch, Shadow Fall, etc as ways to use your secondary. -
Yup. If you're the leader and you tell them clearly that you will be reading the mission dialog and they complain about you taking too long, then that's their fault for not reading when you told them otherwise. It's not the leader's fault in the slightest. If you don't like it, then you can leave and let somebody else join.
And to get on topic: No, scrappers are no more obsolete than tanks are because brutes/masterminds can get blueside. Didn't make sense? Good. -
Quote:I fail to see how finishing off the threats and THEN AoEing everything saves on endurance when you could AoE everything and then finish off the other guys that are already weakened.Or if you prefer to save the endurance and activation time:
1) Drop Static Field
2) Tesla cage your chosen target
3) Single target Smash
4) By the time you finish off the target that is the greatest threat the rest of the sleeping spawn has been sapped.
5) Tesla any other targets that are a threat.
6) AoE with impunity
And lolactivationtime -
You'd do best to not build a healer.
Focus on a set that uses buffs or debuffs, such as dark miasma. Superior to healing in every way. And if someone tells you otherwise or tries to tell me otherwise, they don't know a thing about teaming in CoH.
Enemies that can't hit you/hit you hard/die too fast to hit you > having to heal damage. -
Why bother knocking all the enemies down anyway if they're asleep with static field? From my experiences the enemies will usually fall back asleep before they can get off another attack, anyway.
And I'll echo what was said earlier: I wasn't aware a control set was suppose to do damage. I thought it was suppose to control and let your secondary set, which is made to do damage, to do damage. Besides, if you make joltic chain do a ton of damage you might as well move it to the electric assault secondary and call it Chain Induction. -

Quote:Why the hostility? I'm just stating the truth. There are these things called "friends" and "teams".
Even a hardcore soloist like myself knows and uses these things from time to time.
Yes, you can team up. But unless you're RPing and stuff, you aren't really getting the story.
