I want a rare combination...
Traps/Ice Defender.
Dual Pistols/Trick Arrow/Mace Mastery.
No idea if it'll be any good, but it'll certainly be rare.
If you team, how about an Earth/FF controller? My namesake is Earth/FF and I've not seen another in game. I say if you team though, because until you get Animate Stone at 32 you will have very little damage output. You're Shields buff the team's defense and your Earth gives -Def so your team can effectively fight higher level foes faster.
Unexplained Investigations Supergroup on VICTORY!
UI Cards
Snuph's Hero Helpers
What about a Fire/Kin?
. . .
Tanker, that is.

Radiation Emission/Energy Blast Defender (or Energy Blast/Rad Emission Corrupter) would be an interesting and rare combo.
Thematically it matches, in that both are very science-y "Atomic Man!/Nuclear Dude!/Cosmic Guy!" powersets. Mechanically, you have the opportunity to make or break your own usefulness, either by scattering mobs out of your debuffs if you play badly, or keeping them hemmed in if you use it well. You've played Storm, so I guess you understand knockback a little bit.
Mastermind - try Ninja/Force Fields. They need bubbles more than any other pet, and don't need much in the way of damage boosting. The fire and forget nature of FF would work well with pets that need a lot of attention. This combo is rare for concept reasons I guess - an ancient/magical primary with a futuristic/science secondary.
Not that either robot ninja or magical barriers are unheard of...
Grav/Sonic is also interesting. It's one of the two controllers I play (Girl Crush in my sig), and is definitely rare.
Plus...the combination of Disruption Arrow+Oil Slick Arrow+Incendiary Ammo loaded Bullet Rain is just too effing sweet. Can't wait till post lvl 38 for HoB...gonna be glorious.
Edit: Especially now that OS Arrow has been tweaked to light more reliably. Oh YEAH! Let's burn somethin!

Someone say something funny.
That'll do, pig. That'll do.
I have never in 2 years of playing seen an Ice/Trick Arrow Controller. There is one guy on the boards I know of who plays one and says its good, but I've yet to actually see one.
I've played Ice/TA but Earth/TA or Plant/TA is a better combo for controllers. Fire/TA is fun but hard to get the hang of at first for most folks.
I have a hurricaneless Fire/Storm/Stone Controller that's lots of fun to play and solos or teams well.
Another extremely rare combo is Ice/Rad. It's not really good at soloing because the damage is extremely low. But it is excellent on a team for locks down and debuff.

I agree that FF goes amazingly well with Ninjas and yet is rarely chosen with them which makes it a rare set, but part of the reason I enjoy rare sets is because I like to try to mesh together iffy combos, whereas, FF is arguably the most recommended secondary to Ninjas and meshes extremely well. So, I don't see the fun in trying to make it work.

Edit - BTW I looked over the wiki page you set up for the character after I finished posting and was thoroughly impressed.
I have never in 2 years of playing seen an Ice/Trick Arrow Controller. |
Dark/energy defender also seems pretty rare
BIOSPARK :: DARKTHORN :: SKYGUARD :: WILDMAGE
HEATSINK :: FASTHAND :: POWERCELL :: RUNESTAFF
Dark Blast and Kinetics, Defender or Corruptor.
I saw a couple of them about a year ago, and none since. Tried one once myself, but never cared for the survivability and speed of either AT early on.
-This Space Intentionally Left Blank.-
My Rare but very effective suggestion.
Trick Arrow / Sonic / Soul Mastery
Notable synergies...
Acid Arrow, Disruption Arrow and Howl = -60% res !
Poison Gas Arrow + Sirens Song stacks and can be powerboosted
Sonic does energy damage which ignited Oil Slick Arrow
Soul Drain is a PbAoe self +dmg +tohitt which will make the -res powers even more effective.

It's a strange combination for sure. I didn't pick it for any weird reason, or because it was rare, or anything. It was just what I came up with at the time of creating the character. I don't think I've ever seen another one but I admit I haven't looked very hard.

EM/EA (stalker/Brute) at 50.
Good luck.
When something good happens to me, I can never enjoy it....
I am always too busy looking for the inevitable punchline...
BEHOLD THE POWER OF CHEESE!
I have, quite literally, never seen a MA/Dark Armor character aside from my own.
Suggestions:
Super Packs Done Right
Influence Sink: IO Level Mod/Recrafting
Random Merit Rolls: Scale cost by Toon Level
Dual Pistols/Trick Arrow/Mace Mastery.
No idea if it'll be any good, but it'll certainly be rare. |

I have a 'Dread Pirate Redraw" with DP/TA and a hook hand though hasnt got to mace yet.
I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.
Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.
So sad to be ending ):
I am very addicted to playing rare or very uncommon powerset combination's. With Going Rogue I feel like I have a lot of options on my hands and am looking for something new. I generally like Defenders, Dominators, MM's, Corruptors, and Controllers. I can never seem to get into playing Brutes, Blasters, Tanks, Stalkers, or Scrappers. Also, my main is a Sonic/Electric Defender and I also have a TA/Ice, and Storm/Psy that I play often. Not sure if I am willing to repeat any of those sets because I also like trying new things. Any ideas what might be good??
