RP SG Suggestions?
Since I'm just back myself and know about as much as you do on the who's active and who's not RPSG situation all I can add is I heard through the grape vine the GA's might be looking, I enjoyed my short time with them, then theres the PK's Grae's good peoples, I'm not really sure who else is out there, who is new etc. I would join an SG but I have really low drama tolerance.
Um, well, I just started a Praetorian Embassy SG that's looking for Primals to join to increase the relations between worlds.
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=235198
That's the link to the thread if you want more info. We're pretty small still (5-6 people with a couple more incoming once they hit 20 and leave Praetoria, and some alts from existing members), but we'd love to have you!
I would guess partly SG suggestions would depend on the character concept. A short summary or somesuch, perhaps?
Cynics of the world, unite!
Taking Care of the Multiverse
Leaving that information out was intentional as I am more looking for suggestions from people that I already know and whom already know the character in the hope that someone may be able to say "Oh hey, so and so are still around and she would fit in great there" and less attempting to solicit invitations from strangers.
It was just easier to write a forum post rather than trying to get a hold of people in game as most of the people I know In game also use the Virtue forums.
I've a private OOC chat channel that is moderated by me, Cien, and a few others. There are a number of rp'ers in the channel with various rp sg's, and a chunk of the Rookery. I've also a small personal sg that is rp friendly and intentionally lacks a defined schemed, although we're not 'active'. You'd both be welcome in either the chat channel, sg or both Eat_Me, Lady C. Shout at me ingame @Shaw Lwhon or Cien for invite to the OOC channel; me for the sg.

There's a topic on the Virtue boards that has a large listing of quite a few well known and nice SGs, most of which involve heavy RP. Could try hitting that up and seeing which one caters to your character best.
The Lightning Strike initiative [Shameless pluuuugggging]
Is fantastic, I joined it, and there's more than 3 people on every day, near constant opportunities to RP, everyone is really friendly, oocly and ICly have great senses of humor and are nice for the most part.
We only have one grumpy IC person, and he's a praetorian.
uhhhhhm. Events and stuff are regular, and sunday nights are SG nights, which is cool ^^
The palladium sentry, is also very nice but has to be applied for in order to GET an interview.
the Jadewire is nice,
yeah..those are my suggestions
Magisterum- 50+3 Fortunata--Virtue
Lukerion- 33 Emp/Rad Defender--Virtue
Noah Heartily- 34 SS/SD brute- Virtue
Mika Heartily- 50+1 Fire/MM blaster-Virtue
I can also recommend the Jadewire and LSI. Both are great RP SGs to start with (and stay with!).
LSI is full of people I know pretty damn well, so I can personally vouch for them being awesome and helpful. I don't yet have a toon in their SGs yet however.
Jadewire-wise, I'm a recent recruit, and loving the stay; they're an incredibly proactive/regular SG, as in, there's pretty much SOMEONE that's always on and willing to do something. You can see 10-12+ members on at a time, plus others on alts and sister supergroups. Ventrilo sessions are a (several hours daily) hoot, and everyone is very friendly. Very expansive base too with all the amenities you could ever need (we put a teleporter in your teleporter so you can phase while you phase!).
If you want to look them up, I can get you in contact with an officer or leadership and hopefully they'll take my newbie nod. Hit me up at @Runo if you'd like!

The application is important as it screens out those who can not be bothered to fill out an app. If someone is not willing to put any time or effort into their application it is a warning sign that they will most likely not place time and effort into the group.
The application also allows you to screen for bad writers, text speakers (I r gud n u?) and Mary Sues.
Interviews are done in character for most groups, so the interview tests the applicants improve and live RP skills and members of the Guild to get a "feel" for the player.
Back in 1996 during the AOL boom, I founded the Ring of Magi, a Rhydin Guild that at its peek had over 1000 members. Every single one of these members filed an application and was then vetted by a live interview.
In 2001 a friend of mine convinced me to join them in the Order of the Crimson Star. I became the Commander of the Order of Autumn Dusk within 3 months. The OCS also had a strict application policy and at its height had well over 5000 members, every one of them carefully chosen.
I helped run the Nemesis Council when CoH went live. One of the Largest Villain Groups in the days before we had CoV. The Nemesis Council was not only strict in its application process but interviews were grueling.
When I accidentally created the Sushi School Girl Squad, we had a very open and accepting policy, anyone could join and be a part of the group yet we still had an application process to vet costume, name and characters to ensure that the groups theme was maintained.
When LotRO went live I founded The Knights of Minas Tirith, we not only had a detailed application but they would interview not with just one or two people, but with as many of the Guild whom were online at the time whom wished to attend. They would all then attempt to intimidate the applicant and force them to stand up for what they believed in. If they did not wilt under the pressure and scrutiny, they were then brought into the guild via an initiation ceremony. As a result, even the greenest of recruits felt that they had earned their right to be in the guild and were willing to stand up and take action and be involved.
The point in all of this being that the application and interview process is an important tool for not only protecting the community that you are trying to build, but can also be an invaluable RP tool that helps players feel that they truly belong to something special, as opposed to feeling that they are just another random face in a sea of random faces, none of whom really matter.
Every Guild I have created or belong to, that was worth anything... had a solid application and interview process, and every prestige sweatshop and cyber harem I have stumbled upon had an open invite policy.
That's not to say every open Guild IS a sweatshop or harem, only that my experience has been colored to be very weary of any Guild that does not have a decent application and interview process, so to me that would actually be a mark in favor of The Palladium Sentry.
I can also recommend the Jadewire and LSI. Both are great RP SGs to start with (and stay with!).

Now I can't really speak for the rest of Jadewire, but I somehow I don't think it would work between us.
Do you perhaps have any details on LSI? All I know about them is that they are known for doing large contests and promotions, and that's about it.
I'm not sure what kind of character Lizzy is, or whether you even know me, but Guardian Force is still pretty active and has been around since launch. Once a week, we do mission arcs in the AE that have been custom designed by either Plasma Stream or a member of GF, and often are multi-week plots. It's RP along the modern JLA kind of vein, for the most part.

I think you might fit in with The Justice Girls who are active and RP.

Hrm, this reminds me I need to make a character I actually like roleplaying as, that's not staying in Praetoria like Jessica. *brainstorms*
These have been some great leads, thank you everyone!
I shall do some research on LSA, Justice Girls and The Palladium Sentry.
Matt, I shall most certainly PM you in game with some questions, thank you.
Seri,
The GA is not the GA you remember, the name was sued out of existence and taken into the custody of the PPD (Long OOC story I'll tell ya some time, not drama filled hate, just some laziness on the part of the older members). I've gathered some of the original GA and put together and new group of Legends called strangely enough "The New Urban Legends" (which of course if funny cause the "New" legends actually has more of the original members then the other two groups sitting on the name, think New Teen Titans I guess, Lizzy can be Starfire.) We are in, essence, starting over....again.
(Basically we're still writing the back-story of how GA broke up/got stolen and collecting into a coalition of teams. We run two active OOC chat channels and an IC coalition between the .....publicly acceptable NUL team and a more aggressive vigilante team called the Blood Angels. There is a lot room to develop the story from scratch ie Avengers Reborn or something. Current members include Warp Factor, Caios, Fenix, Marial Martog, Shadowstormm and associated alts, plus a very good crew vera good RPrs, most of whom you've met. We're setting up now, rebuilding the prestige, base, ect. Once the first two groups are strongly established we're looking at setting up a Wolfepack team that works for Jack. Original concept was a team in Wolfetec armor, but I'm thinking more a private "Fringe" division with suits, pistols, and psychics to go after weird stuff. We don't have an application, we used to do interviews, but Seri would just be coming home....and where Seri goes so does Liz Oh, and we have a bit of a Zombie fetish....but it doesn't bleed into game...unless you count Caios, though if you call her a zombie she bites you.)

If you're looking for a team that's in line with the Justice Society of America, feel free to check out the Golden Age Heroes. It's a Golden/Silver Aged Classic themed Super Group with three branches, Adult Heroes, Young Heroes, and now Ex-Villains looking for redemption.

((I LOVE me some Zombies (not in that way eww pervs) I actually even have a Special Op's Character Zombie Survivalist who grew up in Dark Astoria, before and after the clouds moved in (in fact she still does) I am going to reroll her as a Zombie Mastermind and bring her blueside. As for rejoining the GA's I'll definitely consider it if there are no objections from the current members.))

I'm hurt that I wasn't mentioned at all :P
But yeah, I guess it makes sense, seeing as compared to some people here, I'm still the newbie of the GA. Plus I hardly talk when it comes to RPz, so I'm overshadowed easily as well.
But yeah...At the moment we're still working on whats up with the group and all that.

It sounds like it could be a lot of fun!
You would also get 2 more people for L4D, both of us have L4D 1 & 2 and love us some zombie killing action! I think even Flea has L4D1 but I don't think he has 2.
I also spoke to Matt King last night, put forth some very blunt questions and got some great answers back so I think what I am going to do (if you will have us) is have Nurse White follow with Seri, Jack, Stormy and Flea but split off her her sister (Pearl White, who is also an old RP character IO'ed out to the max) put in an app for The Palladium Sentry so that I can meet some new people while getting to develop Pearl as a character outside the story arcs of Seri and Lizzy, with the added bonus of tormenting Flea.
I would like to thank everyone for their help and suggestions! All of the groups that people have put forth, I did research on, asked questions about and read up on their forums if they had them. They all looked like great communities filled with good people and I only wish I could have joined them all. Sadly that would be completely impractical and unfair to all involved as I am one of the worst multitaskers in the history of doing more than one thing at a time, and I could only ever learn to juggle two balls at once.
Truly, thank you everyone for being so very helpful!
So RP'ing in Gemini Park again has made me realize how much I miss and enjoy RP'ing with my main character.
I would like the opportunity to spend more time RP'ing with a good crowd of people and I have an aversion to the D. Normally I would just float around and RP with whom ever I met while doing missions but I really have no need to drag her out to do anything as she is already 50 and has all the Accolades, IO & Purple Sets I need and even some I don't. Without an End Game I have no excuse to play her except when people I know are running Raids and TF's.
So the solution would be to join an RP SG. However I have been away for so long that I have no idea who is who, whats going on where, who is active, who says they are active but really only have 3 people who log in and most importantly, who is really an RP SG and not just a front for someones Cyber Harem.
I could start my own SG, but the prospect of Nurse White being an SG leader is terrifying and I have already inflicted enough insanity on this server.
So help me out my fellow Virtuites, steer me in the right direction!
What RP SG would be a good fit for Lizzy? Where I could actually RP and not be treated like an prestige monkey or roster padding? Most importantly who would be crazy enough to give her access to SG and Coalition chat?
