You can buy the individual pieces, but not a (discounted) bundle.
-
They dont appear to be able to be bought as bundles (or even as a single bundle as they used to be). Does anyone know if I'm not looking in the right place in the store? Is this an oversight? Is it working as intended?
(also; wasnt sure if this should go in this subforum, or elsewhere) -

Quote:Honestly; this has already been my experience. A number of my IRL friends who can no longer justify a subscription given their intermitent playstyle (or reached that point some time ago and stoped subscribing) have said to me that they were interested in playing again in the 'Freedom age' but once they understood what they would be cut off from (namely the bulk of their characters) they said 'not going to bother'.I do think that some of the restrictions imposed upon returning players (not all premium players but former players that left) will turn them off right away. Chief among those are the blocking of 2 ATs (controllers and MMs), the lack of IOs, and the limited number of available characters.
I understand and appreciate that there needs to be some significant limitations or else a bunch of current subscribers would just stop paying. But if I came back and I wanted to play my favorite characters and found that they were blocked from access or were technically stripped of IOs, I would say "pancake it!" and go back to doing what I had been doing in my CoH absence.
If 'preimum' is intended to encourage players to spend money in the 'ala-cart' shop and lure people back into subscription, then, at least in these cases, it's already failed. Weather this is significant in the greater scheme of things or not, I have no idea, but it's my data-point at least. -
Is the Bunny Girl's voice Tara Strong?
'Cause I'm fairly sure that voice could sell me anything. -
Quote:I have a new theory!
I don't actually have a real argument for why the Letter Writer can't be the Dream Doctor in the way I can argue Mender Lazarus is not Dr. Aeon, to be honest. What I have are more meta-story arguments against him, in the sense that I don't see how this could make for a very good story. The Dream Doctor has always been linked with Rularuu the Ravager, and he doesn't seem to be the Coming Storm. About the only way I can see the Dream Doctor being the Letter Writer is if it turn out the Shiva meteorite and the Battalion are just a diversion and it is Rularuu the Ravager who is the REAL storm, which would then put the Midnight Club and the Dream Doctor to the forefront. But the way the story is slated, I don't see this happening unless we want to delay the Coming Storm for another 10 Issues.
Nemisis, indirectly and possibly unintentionally, created the comming storm. How? Well, he has been using the shadow shard as a base of operations for quite some time, it is possible that that is where he sources his materials, produces the bulk of his atomatons, and likley conducts experiments. He has, essentaily, been using the place as his own personal sandbox. But the shadowshard is no dimnetional backwater full of tumbleweed and dust, oh no, it is the physical manifestation of the shattered mind of a dimention eating GOD.
At some point in our future; Nemisis's forces in the shadow shard merge with Rularuu's minions (and possibly Rularuu himself) to become the Batalion.
The idea gets a little hazy at this point; I'm not sure how to reconcile the comming storm's origins in the future with their presence in our past. Maybe after it's creation it get's hurled into the past or somthing. But this would allow the Dream Doctor to still be LW, as opposing the storm would also be opposing Rularuu, and it would make the LW's distrust of Silos more understandable. -

Quote:Couldnt they have just made the game cost $5, come with 400 PP, unlimited game time and the current Basic Premium, then said; 'Sub for even more!'?.When you say they "want" a free game anyone can play without paying, I believe if it was possible to execute the Freedom model *without* a free to play option, they would have done it. That's impossible, so we have it as a necessary evil. That is what makes this not a free to play game.

HA!
I knew it.
*feels smug*
Though I gota say, I almost respcet Cole for this. Facing an overwhelming enemy he could have gone down fighting (and taken the world with him), instead he sought peace, he sought a comprimise. Of-course after that he made a real mess of things, but well, there you go.
Also it does make more sense now that there was an army practically ready to go when us primals started showing up. He was preparing for when the truce enevitably failed. -

Some of my favs -
Junk Giant - Shambling robotic hero made from a mismatched algamation of technology.
Mad Doll - Possessed Voodoo Doll . . . maybe
Steel Oni - Robot made from possessed samuri Armor (and now possesed by the same Oni)
The Narrow Man - Just a name a snagged years ago on Freedom, he sits there gathering dust.
And some others:
- Voltaic Angel
- Steel Deva
- Steelcat
- Annihilation Engine
- Arcane Furnace
- White Harlequine
- Lady Fortune
- Doc Grimm
. . . I could go on . . -
Here is my data-point, for whatever that is worth.
I do not pay for things I think cost more than they are worth* even if I want them.
I did not pay money for the 'Party pack'
I like the idea of the new powersets, and would enjoy making characters with them.
I will not be spending money on the new powersets at their current price.
I might spend money on the new powersets if they were priced lower (for example; during a sale).
This is not an exercise in me telling other people what to do with their money, or their worth evaluations. I am only offering my position as a data point.
(*in this case worth is a subjective evaluation made on my part) -
*ehem*
For more than a hundred years the headquarters of the London Metropolitian Police has been known as 'Scottland Yard' despite being neither Scottish . . .
or a Yard. -
I have to say:
That is 20% cooler. -
People considering moving wholesale to the VIP server should remember that it is somthing of a double-edged sword.
Beyond one character per month, you will have to pay to move characters there, and after the first 12 you will have to pay more to unlock new slots as well. (This should actually act as somthing of a throttle on such behaviour actually, cleaver of our devs really).
Perhapes even more importantly; if you ever go to Premimum (for whatever reason) any characters on that server would be off-limits until you re-subbed (or, once again; paid to transfer them), as would any comunities you had joined (supergroups, channels, etc) that are on that server. -
I would pay for a variety of comsetic elements (costumes and such), Base related stuff (upgrades in particular) and I would pay, to an extent, for sweet sweet content (content is one thing I really dont want to feel 'nickle and dimed' on).
Things I would not Pay for are any kind of 'pay to win' stuff (XP boosters, uber powers, uber powersets etc).
Infact, so insensed would I be by such things, that I would be likley to abandon the game wholesale as a point of principal. Seriously; "Pay to Win" is bad; just imagine Atlas Park filled with protesters and people trying to destroy momuments.*
*(refer certain events in other MMOs . . . and take heed) -
There are two things I would like to say on this topic:
1. Durarara!! is awesome, people should watch it!
2. /startclarkson/
"Some say, she is a supernatural creature from the far side of the world.
"Some say, she had her head stolen by an evil pharmaceutical company.
"All we really know is she's called Celty.*"
/endclarkson/
*(in the first few eps when I didn't know her name, I needed a shorthand for the character, so I called her 'Cat-Stig')

Thanks for the advice and information all. I had forgotten about converting reward merits into alignment merits, and that is good to know. Unfortunatly, my largest stockpile of reward merits is on my Rogue which makes conversion a little... tricky

Ive been, sort of, away from the game for a while, and now that Im back Im trying to adjust to this bold new world, and am looking to liquefy some of my assets.
Consequently I have a few questions for the Masters of Marketeering, the Cardinals of Currency, the Gurus of the Green, the Pontiffs of Profit, in short; the Market Forum Regulars.
Question 1 What is the current effective inf value of a Merit (conventional Merit, not Alignment Merit)?
Question 2 If I have a large bundle of Merits, what is the best way to spend them if all I want is wealth? Is it more cost effective to do a collection of random rolls or just by up a premium recipe (craft it?) and sell that on the Market?
Question 3 What is the current effective inf value of AE Tickets?
Thanks in advance for your responses.
(PS: I apologise to anyone who looked at the thread title and was expecting a hilarious, deranged rant.) -
I salute you Castle. Thanks to all the work you have done over the years I can say, with honesty and certainty, that, when I play this game; I Feel Super.
Thankyou. -

* Fulmens is actually a minor Deity, his domains are Money, and Fire.

Quote:Hmm, a pity you are restricting yourself to Blus-side native ATs (I assume that is the case from the title), it sounds like a Dominator would be right up your ally.
I do enjoy a thrill but I do not enjoy how much I died on certain blaster ats, I enjoy being versatile like my ill/rad controller my only real issues with him is that his personal attacks are well boring even with air supperiority, I apologize if I misspelled that. I enjoy range most of the time some melee will be alright, I enjoy the melee better on my ill/rad since flash he has to be in the middle of mobs so its kind of thrilling.
Perhapes, if you have Going Rogue, a Dom who goes Blue at 20 would be acceptable? -
Quote:*ahem*One more time: the person working the least getting the lion's share of the incarnate drops is not "fair." Nothing random about it.
No one, least of all me, posted about how everyone on the team should get an equal amount of Incarnate drops, although that would certain be both very nice and a lot more fair.
What irks me is leeches coming out of a TF with 7-8 shards, more than double everyone else. I don't like it. If you don't like that I don't like it, sorry but we'll have to keep disagreeing.
The RNG Conspiracy,
Its totally out to get me.
When the roll is made,
I just dont get paid.
So I sit and stare,
And think; its just not fair.
Then I tell the Fandom,
That its anything but random.
But they just dont listen to me,
And my RNG Conspiracy -
Quote:It's almost funny.MA is responsible for the dearth of commons.
It's been my experience that rares have crashed, at least the ones I've been flipping- buy for 500k, sell for 1-2m.
MA exploit comes out; the price of Commons go through the roof. MA exploit goes away; Commons prices fall.
You can set your watch buy it.
