  1. Mine plays City of Heroes with me... she's often more critical of how the team is doing then I am

And a few weeks ago she truly embraced the warmth that is scrapperlock.
  2. I'm pretty reserved with my Hasten use on my DM/SR, I really only use it as an Oh Crap! button or a "I needs to kill these guys ASAP" button, Team wipe on an ITF and I'm... as I usually am the last man standing.
I use it on AVs, pylons, and large groups mainly, I could live without it but the real question then would be "Why?"
I wasn't exactly starved for slots or powers eventually taking hurdle at 49.

Working out... I kick and punch people in the head... with a lack of people I find a strong wall with loads of support and I limit to punching only, then there are the kata that I practice... two styles worth... well only 1 from 1 style and 6 from another.

If I weight lift, I go low weight high reps, don't wanna bulk up, just tone.
  4. I drink whatever they give me at work... probably normal, and yes, I don't like coffee so its always loaded with cream and sugar. My caffeine of choice is either Southern style sweet tea, or Coke... classic for you southern folk

As for point of Origin, I was born in the great white north known as Wisconsin, but returned to the land of my father in the Carolina's been here for 2 years now... yeah I suppose no one actually cares since I'm not a Texan but meh

    Claw/SR decision

In both builds your practiced brawler is perma, so I'm not really sure why you need 2 slots in your second build.
  6. I have one at level 5 on freedom, a server that I hardly ever play on.

    But I do have a lvl 47 Claws/Elec and my GF has a lvl 26 DB/Elec.

Knowing what I do about those combos a few things Kat/Elec has are very good.

First Elec armor has awesome resists with a good self-heal and near endless end, its main hole... defense, it has none, leaving you with having to fill that gap with IOs and pool powers. In the end you can work up to about 30% positional defenses, this is where Kat/ will help, with DA you can stack defense on a high resistance build, just as you would with regen.

Personally, I feel Electric Armor has a high learning curve, but after you figure it out, it performs very well.

    Or Melee period, with DA.

I'm with Iggy though... you wanna show us up... do it!

Blue side as far as scrappers go, talk is cheap actions speak louder and make sure you get proof of what you do, otherwise it didn't happen.
  8. Guess this will be an agree to disagree
  9. True, but with grounded, jumping probably isn't a great option anyway, but I haven't noticed much difference, was that the last patch?
  10. In your opinion where should I put Lightning Field.

Really the only two powers I'd be fine giving up are hasten and maneuvers.

CJ would never be used, with NR toggled I get basically the same effect -def.

For FA I can't decide which I want that or conserve power.
  11. Actually, I have read the story quite a few times in fact.
Cyrus was proud of what he did, he gladly recounted his story to Statesman and Sister Psyche, and then when called on he did it again, costing him his life.

Cyrus was proud of what he did and who he was, "You're here for that speed stuff, more then likely" he says to them. Goes on to show his hero belt which he still wears. The scene depicts him as a warrior someone that would gladly go back to those days. Someone wanting to be remembered that way.

In Greek Mythology, something this game strongly shows, the heroes are remembered as what they were when they were heroes.

Even in American culture, portraits and statues are made to remember the accomplishments that they did at the time they did them.

In funerals and memorials we celebrate life, not immortalize death.

And last and most importantly, he died on his feet... in his own words "...but I'm still a man. And one that can still stand on his own two feet..."

He was a hero, a warrior, and an inspiration.
As a man... he was all but forgotten.

  12. All about suggestions today

Now, I know this is rather pointless since scrappers true method of taunting is by stabbing/punching/kicking things in the face, but I thought it'd be cool if the new /e bringit emote where the Warriors challenge animation.
  13. Paragon City has statues of various heroes through out the city, all of them displayed in their moments of glory. Save one. Cyrus Thompson, Breakneck, is remembered as he was in his civilian attire after his days of heroing had passed.

During his final hours he used his powers one final time to aid the Freedom Phalanx against the Circle of Thorns. A heroic act that he knew would cost him his life, but in return save Paragon City for another day.

I agree that he deserves a statue, but I feel it should be the way he should be remembered, as a hero of Paragon City!

We need to rebuild Cyrus Thompson's statue so it depicts him as a hero, not an old man long since passed his prime.

    Who's with me?

[seriously, a fat old guy in the noob land known as Kings Row? How inspiring is that?]
  14. Got him to level 45 almost 46 and wanted to start preparing his final build.

I want him to be overall a tough scrapper, AVs would be cool but mainly for big groups.

I focused on recharge and Def, specifically to melee while making him, his travel power will be ninja run... seems to be a common idea lately

Basically limitless end, power sink will be up every 26 secs, he's got 31% melee defense, 51.3% global rech.

Let me know what you think, and as always thanks for the help!

  15. I took on both Crimson and Indigo at the same time Indigo was the easier of the two despite her increased ACC because of the Kat/ you could probably add her with only a slight increase to difficulty.

    Ninja Run

    Got it! Love it!

On my lvl 50 DM/SR scrapper, got a speed of just over 60 mph. On my lvl 44 Claws/ELA scrapper, I got about 57 mph... had over 60 as well but pulled a slot out of both Swift and Lightning Reflexes.

    Vet rewards

I have 24 months now, my latest came 2 weeks late, after I sent a support ticket. Before that they all came at about the right time, some just a few days late, but all around the same time.

    Vet rewards

For me, my brother and my girlfriend all recieved our Vet rewards late... well I've gotten mine since I put in a support ticket first. And after discovering this I couldn't help but wonder if anyone else has had this problem?

Also, not sure if this will help anything but on the NCSoft website you log in and go to support... it logs you out causing you to put in your e-mail address and them question if you are who you say you are. [This just happened to my GF... seriously they "X" out all the codes but the last 4 anyway how can you get that?]

Anyone else having these problems, how wide spread is this problem and... is it just me and those I've referred having this problem?
  19. Got a 50 DM/SR that can take +4x8 groups, solo AVs, and... he's got good damage, rech, soft-cap and powers to spare.

I took Torrent for some AoE and knock back, Kick for just a bit more... and flavor reasons as well, Also I took Hurdle with the lvl 49 power pick because there really wasn't anything else I needed or wanted.

Oh and currently he's finished except for a few LotG +rech's and the miracles.
  20. I know, well its not actually; only Shadow maul is 50/50, Shadow punch has the NE a little above the smashing, while Smite has more then triple the smashing in NE.

Siphon Life and Midnight Grasp however are all NE, and these are your strongest NE attacks anyway.

So yes, I'll give you that they also give some smashing damage as well. But claws is all lethal... not including any procs you may put on it.

The crit damage is also NE, not sure if Crit damage is resisted, though.
  21. Got the pack yesterday and wanted to say, I tried it on my DM/SR, to see how fast he is with it on.

Has 1-slotted Swift, Quickness, and Sprint; all with lvl 50 IO, has 3 set bonuses of 5% each which gives him 40.83 mph running
With Ninja Run toggled he has 60.89 mph

If each were 3-slotted, he would have 50.7 mph running giving him 71.3 mph with Ninja Run... ~20 mph shy of cap.

[I assume from other posts "~" is approx. I may however been in error]
  22. As others have said they're scrappers they will be highly survivable.

I'd actually say DM/Elec would be more survivable in the end.

First let me say, Claws/WP is a very tough and fast set that you'll likely have loads of fun with. Claws has high damage with a common damage type and low end cost good AoE's and a few range powers to top it off. Willpower is a good set, decent def and resist with a nice boost to health and end.

DM/Elec has strong single target damage and a damage type that is rarely resisted damage type, it also has a powerful 30s "build-up" that can come very close to perma... likely possible to perma that scales with the number of enemies hit. It also has both a powerful attack that serves as a good self-heal and an End recharge power. Combine that with Elec and you have two very good self-heals, great regen, great resists, limitless end and fast movement.

    I've played both, I'm very familiar with DM/ and enjoy playing Claws/. I have a /WP 50 and an /Elec 44, actually claws/elec.

Edit: Focus is the KD power, Follow-up is the build-up
  23. Out of the four packs so far the only pack that I think failed in all avenues was 3, they didn't have anything developed that really worked so they threw in the change body type, which I personally think should have gone into the actual game. Any bonus powers however have been very cool, Mission TP from Mac, oh and its actually only $5 because the 15 pays your monthly subscription. Self-destruct... ok cool I can avoid debt once every hour. Mystic Fortune is awesome, but enough people have it so you can get the QoL by virtue of teaming.

My two favorite origins are Mutation and Natural, so the fact that the Natural pack is so full of win makes me very hopeful for superbooster 5.

In my opinion and this is only my over-exaggeration, BaBs saw Champions travel power "Acrobatics" and said... "I can do better!" and boom... we get Ninja Run... if we want it.

The Micro-Transactions are just added features to the game which if you want take, if not... Don't its not gonna bother them.

I love Ninja Run... I don't have it yet, but I still love it.

And the developers have said that they're trying to devise ways you can get travel powers without taking two of your power choices away.

I just made a MA/SR build that I put together just for fun, Ninja Run will be his travel power. No BotZ, only weave+SR+sets soft-capped in all positions, gave him stealth, which I didn't count for defense, Caltrops and shuriken... and for SnGs I gave him Jump Kick at 49.
He might be able to solo AVs, and do big groups, but will probably need some Blue pills to help.
    Time for fun!
