Cyrus Thompson-Breakneck!
Having him sitting down doesn't make him less of a hero. People tend to be remembered for what they did, not what their statue looks like.
Many people in King's Row, at least in the comic, IIRC, remembered him as a kindly old man, and sometimes, those guys can make more of an impact on people than superheroes.

I concur with Aett. He should be immortalized for what he was:
An old man that did what was necessary when he was called upon to do so. That's considerably more awe-inspiring to me than yet another "look at me in my prime" statue.
Be well, people of CoH.
Cyrus, sitting peacefully in the neighborhood he loved all his life, "under his own fig tree," is what heroes are fighting FOR. Is what, in the trope Troy handled rather nicely, of aged-hero-goes-down-in-last-ditch-stand, heroes are supposed to do. Not the posing, the postures of comic book heroism, the display of the powers that make them apart from other people, the ones we find in body bags in some of our adventures, who die when they are shot, or cut, or burned. A quiet man who went down to protect the places and people he loved.
The statue is fine.
My scrapper doesn't need an AoE. She IS an AoE.
I'm with Aett & Bill Z.
Cyrus spent more of his entire "hero" career taking care of people in Kings Row, looking pretty much as he does in that statue. His time as Breakneck was only a part of the story.
If the noobs in KR are put off by that picture, then it behooves them to learn his whole story.

Actually, I have read the story quite a few times in fact.
Cyrus was proud of what he did, he gladly recounted his story to Statesman and Sister Psyche, and then when called on he did it again, costing him his life.
Cyrus was proud of what he did and who he was, "You're here for that speed stuff, more then likely" he says to them. Goes on to show his hero belt which he still wears. The scene depicts him as a warrior someone that would gladly go back to those days. Someone wanting to be remembered that way.
In Greek Mythology, something this game strongly shows, the heroes are remembered as what they were when they were heroes.
Even in American culture, portraits and statues are made to remember the accomplishments that they did at the time they did them.
In funerals and memorials we celebrate life, not immortalize death.
And last and most importantly, he died on his feet... in his own words "...but I'm still a man. And one that can still stand on his own two feet..."
He was a hero, a warrior, and an inspiration.
As a man... he was all but forgotten.

Hero = Sure, there's some risk, but I'll do this.
Old man = I know this will kill me, guaranteed, but I'll do this because it has to be done.
Guess this will be an agree to disagree

Not to mention the obvious fact that changing the statue means breaking the canon set by Hickman's story in the comics, thereby destroying the entire point.

Oh that's easy. We can update the panel in the online version and hunt down all the hardcopy versions for correction or destruction.

Cyrus Thompson was a hero because he knew he was going to die if he used his powers again, but he also knew that he had to use his powers to save the day. His sacrifice is why Paragon City is still standing!
Being a hero is not about wearing tights and beating up thugs, it's about doing the right thing when the situation requires it!

Paragon City has statues of various heroes through out the city, all of them displayed in their moments of glory. Save one. Cyrus Thompson, Breakneck, is remembered as he was in his civilian attire after his days of heroing had passed.
During his final hours he used his powers one final time to aid the Freedom Phalanx against the Circle of Thorns. A heroic act that he knew would cost him his life, but in return save Paragon City for another day.
I agree that he deserves a statue, but I feel it should be the way he should be remembered, as a hero of Paragon City!
We need to rebuild Cyrus Thompson's statue so it depicts him as a hero, not an old man long since passed his prime.
Who's with me?
[seriously, a fat old guy in the noob land known as Kings Row? How inspiring is that?]
