Shield + Ninja Run = Win!!
How good are the ninja powers? The other booster packs had powers that were pretty useless, they were just fluff. But, if the ninja powers are almost as good as travel powers I think I'll cancel my subscription. Players who pay extra get bonus powers? That's ******** when I am already paying a monthly fee.
If the ninja pack just changed the animation of superspeed and superjump, I would be fine with that
From what I've heard, if you combine ninja run, sprint and swift all slotted to some extent you'll still be a tad slower than Fly.

I read someone with quickness, swift, sprint and ninja run had about 56 mph run speed. Not bad considering their SS had them at 86 mph.
Ninja Run + Sprint is just about as fast as unslotted fly. With swift I think you come out ahead but are still slower than unslotted Superspeed. It also allows you to do back flips, which makes it just that much better

My travel-less /SR with [Quickness] is at 69 mph. My widow is at 67.
The power does not work with Combat Jumping; it toggles it off, but it does work with Swift, Hurdle, Quickness, and Sprint.
I could live with this power as my only travel power. If most of my characters weren't using all their slots I could really punch this home with Swift 3 slotted and Hurdle 3 slotted to save on travel powers. Or use this and have Teleport to get over problematic terrain. (I hate traveling with TP)
It reminds me of when I used perma-Elude as my travel power, except this power basically replaces the run and jump animations entirely. Since I don't particularly like the default run and jump animations this power is just great for me. That's the real win; the default run/jump animations bug me and this power fixes that.
Oh, and shodden after 5 booster packs or so you should know by now that the company not only will put cool things in booster packs that you will want to buy, but it's their job to do that to lure us to spend money. They are constantly designing things that we *can* live without (so people don't complain) but don't want to (so people spend the money). That's part of the way the company makes its money. CoH is a hybrid subscription + microtransaction game. Once you accept this I think your stress levels will be much lower.

Ninja Run + Hurdle 1 slotted at level 50 = 60 mph
Jump cap = 78 mph
It could free a power pick for lots of my alts (I still can't live with CJ, as it doesn't suppress and give that juicy +~2.5% def to all once slotted), or at least let me push SJ to the level 49 pick. I can't say I like the ninja run animations though so I'm torn ; that and SJ is a good spot to put BotZ.
Has anyone used ninja run on a BS scrapper and charged an ambushing mob on the beach in an ITF with the sword out?

There is an end cost of 0.46 so it really is a travel power that isn't as good as the pool powers and it's doesn't offer the flexibility of the monthly jet pack. Weighed up it's really nothing to get in a flip about.

The problem with Ninja Run is that you can't slot it with BoTZ

I 'might' be willing to work around it just to do this, but it wasn't the costless switch over I immediately imagined.

I don't think you would, chill ok anyone in the game can get travel at level 5 from a mayhem mission so getting this at level 4 is no biggie really travel is a joke in this game to get anywhere. This just looks awesome you don't have and are jelous. People are pretty easy to read when their upset.

Hopefully there are a couple more people like me, and this ends up costing them money in the long run. But, I doubt it.
lol if i was jealous i would just buy it... The $15 monthly fee is supposed to cover extra content, if not may I ask what exactly I am paying for? So I'll go play another MMO, I've been meaning to try Aion anyways.

This is booster pack 4. What kept you here thru boosters 1-3 and the wedding pack? Give me a break. Your point of veiw on this reminds of something that would have been a topic on Seinfeld.

New content? You call a few new costume parts, 2 new emotes, 3 swords, 2 costume change emotes, and an unenhancable power that let's you do a few flips, new content? You talk as if this is a whole new powerset. If they released this as an issue, the joy of this would turn to outrage. (Remember i15?)

I don't care, if I start to get jealous, I can buy the booster pack. If it becomes the standard for super boosters to offer quality of life improvements at this level over what you get for your monthly fee, though, I might start to care. At that point, it's not just giving cool stuff to booster buyers, it's holding back cool stuff from existing paying customers to try and squeeze mroe money out of them. But this is the first strike in my book, I'm not gonna get all upset about it. If the ratio stays at 1 serious upgrade out of 4 boosters, and regular subscribers keep on getting cool stuff as well, I'll stay happy. And if it doesn't, well, I still have a WoW account I can reactivate with a guild full of folks I'll be happy to play with, and it would be far from the first time I unsubbed from CoX because the devs annoyed me badly.
TEH WERDZ ON SKREEN HURTZ MI BRANE!
What kept him was the fact that the other boosters were pure luxury items, that offered pretty much only aesthetic benefit. Ninja Run is an awesome quality of life improvement at low levels. No longer worry about outlasting your temp power jetpacks, no longer tied to the relatively glacial pace and weak vertical movement of Sprint, the lower levels are far more bearable.

It's not like their holding your 'mounts' hostage until lvl 14. It's definitely in the realm of possibility to get to lvl 25 with *just* the raptor pack you can obtain from a simple bank mission at lvl 6.
Then you'd have to ***** about having to choose a travel power at 24 or going out of your way to pay a few thousand inf for a 'power choice free' travel power. Meh, grab a tampon and go cry me a river. I got the booster purely for the flip action...

I have a Kat/SR build on mids. I can't take full credit @4shes contributed a large chunk of it and I fine tuned a bit of it to my play style. But we managed to squeeze out about 72 MPH on it.

The new booster rocks!!! When I toggle ninja run with my Fire/Shield scrapper I feel like a warrior running into battle, with my shield out front and my greater fire sword at the ready. Wonderful animation. Also looks great with my dual blades and katana, but shield is truly amazing. Thanks for the pleasant surprise devs. This pack is full of win.
P.S. Costumes are also very nice.
