  1. I kind of doubt you can go wrong with fire/anything corr, or anything /dark corr. ^_^

Yeah, I forgot that part of my calculation, but you can only get 1 merit the 2nd week. On the plus side, you can do it in 8 minutes.
  3. Having played a DP/Devices blaster to 50, I can say... play something else.

You can solo anything in this game. But DP/Devices solos very slow, and when you come up against something like a malta robot with its high resistance to smashing/lethal damage, you'll want to cry.

I made mine as part of a regular group that played together 3-4 times a week. If not for that, I would never have gotten to 50.

Now, my fire/kin corr can solo like nobody's business. ^_^
  4. The toggle thing annoys me, and I don't like the way the back is grey rather than black, it doesn't look right. Otherwise I might actually buy one. Or not.

Currently you could manage it in 18 days, if I'm calculating things correctly, on a character who's never run SSA before.

4 merits from SSA on first day: about 1 hour or so of work.

1 merit every 2 days from tips: about 1 hour of work a day, or less.

1 merit a day from converting regular merits: 20 million influence and roughly 1.5-2 hours of work on TFs or Ouro Arcs. (I can get 33 merits in an hour with one Ouro arc, or from various TFs --34 in less than an hour for a Manti for example. And run every WSF you can).

If you play 3 hours a night -- and I know a lot of people besides me do -- then it's doable. But this month I've been trying to do NANOWRIMO, which is why I say I haven't been working on it too hard... mostly I've been running my 5 tips a day on two different characters, and sometimes catching a TF.
  6. If everyone bids 10,000,000, they buy the recipe at 10,000,000.

Potentially there could be 50 people offering them for, I don't know, 5,100,000. If every bid over 5,100,000 is for a minimum of 10,000,000, then they will always be sold for 10,000,000.

The only way you really know what the minimum bid is is to bid creep in incriments of 1 until you succeed in purchasing the product. But most people can't even be bothered to bid creep in incriments of 1 million. (Me included, usually!)
  7. I hate the axe. I never take it, and I wish I could go back and get rid of it on those few characters that already have it.
  8. I have one of these level 10 Glad Armors sitting on my most recent 50 brute Megamisama, haven't decided what to do with it just yet. I'm up to 25 a-merits on Shinobu Eden and 20 a-merits on War Maid (who is 45 now -- likely to be my next level 50). Sunday I ran through SSA for the first time on another high-level brute, Mina Evangeline (level 41), and I'm already sitting at 6 a-merits on her. ^_^ (And I confirmed alignment on my level 24 time/arrow corr, so I'm planning to run her through SSA soon too.)

Sure seem easier to get these days to me. ^_^ Still a bit of work though, I've been earning a-merits on Shinobu Eden and War Maid since early-mid October I think. Not working at it quite as hard as I usually do.

Ditto, I've run both multiple times in the last year or so.
  10. Whatever you do, don't try to walk your dog. You'll kill him!

...seriously, why are pets now toggles that vanish when you turn on walk? I would think things like this were must useful for RPers, but what do I know?
  11. Being able to buy the Vanguard costume options is similar... makes me wonder if things like Roman Armor, Witch's Hat, or Rularuu weapons will ever be purchasable?

But yeah, when I saw how cheap the aura/cape unlocks were I did it immediately!
  12. Dr. Q and Sara Moore are 40+, cap at 45 I think.
    JA and Faathim are 44+.

Dr. Q is the longest TF in the game. Stupidly long, 22 missions mostly kill all with no big finale, no AV or anything. Just lots and lots of merits.

JA is the most unrewarding TF in the game. Lots and lots of hunts, only a couple of actual door missions, and also no payoff except for merits.

I tend to think of Sara Moore as the "good" lower level shard TF and Faathim as the "good" higher level TF. Both are still fairly long but fun. Dr. Q can be worth running if you have a good team, it's a lot of merits for 3-4 hours of work (never takes us a full four hours though). JA I only do if I absolutely have to for the badge.

  15. I've probably run Dr. Q a half dozen times or more in the last year... my friend loves the shard TFs. It's never taken more than 3.5 to 4 hours with a decent team.
  16. The only thing I don't like about Maelstrom is how he teleports out after he should be dead. It's like your annoying neighbor kid saying, "No, you missed me! You missed me again! I escape unharmed! Nyaa!"

I soooo want to pound his head into the sand permanently. In fact I'm in the habit of talking back to him in local chat even though I usually run these missions solo. He says, "But whose side are you on?" And I reply, "I'm on the side of kicking your sorry a$$."

Super Tailor access basically allows you to change *anything* for a given costume. Height & gender (male to huge is a gender change here) are the two things that you couldn't already change. But it otherwise works like any costume change, a change to one costume doesn't affect any others.

I have a character called "Medieval Crisis" where the idea is that different warriors from different places and times share the same body, and each time one takes over, the body changes to match the warrior. So I have a "dark knight" (huge model), a samurai (regular male model) a dwarf warrior (huge and very short if I remember correctly), a valkyrie (very large female model) and an elf warrior (short/slender female) and a couple of others. THAT'S the thing that Super Tailor Access is really good for.
  18. Just glanced at the title of this thread and accidentally read it as "Beer Run Vs. Other Travels".

When all 7 parts are out, a toon that has never run any of the arc before ought to be able to gain 8 merits in one day just from the SSA. 9 a-merits in 8 days.

If you also are converting 50 regular merits a day and running 5 tip missions a day, you could conceivably earn 21 a-merits in 8 days. But only once. After that it's back to 11.5 per 7 days at most (13 in 8 days).
  22. I can solo the first arc on most of my scrappers and brutes in less than 10 minutes. Less than 9 minutes on some runs.

I solo'd through the second arc tonight with little trouble on my 41 StJ brute. Took my time, read everything, though the conversations in the Midnighter's section went by too fast to really follow.
  23. My high-end elec/shield scrapper has 4 big AoEs (including Judgment), 2 smaller AoE attacks, and 2 single target attacks.

Basically everything but the bosses dies in 3 seconds, and then I spend another 10 seconds flailing on the bosses. But in the end if you love AoE it's awesome, especially since it's "instant death" AoE over the "slow death" AoE of damage auras.
  24. There's a link to be made between the thread title and the phrase "genitals nailed to the table", and that's all I'm going to say on that subject.
