Cherrys for me, mild but bad enough to make me come out in hives as a child. Back on topic, hope all the devs are bouncing back to their feet, even the ones we didn't know.

Quote:Pretty much all the same things i feel playing it. CoH was my first mmo and i still can't get the timing of blocking correctly and hate having to remember to use energy builders. I played CO when it first came out and have a version of my main here at level 40. Was an energy blaster, using bits of the force and electric sets and some healing. I've played on and off but not enough to figure out the best powers yet. CO seems counter to playing concept, certain powers everyone insists you have to have or so it sounds. The reasons I've seen for people 'thrashing' CO are legitimate, especially when you compare it to its superior, CoH. There's a lot of things CO doesn't do right if you're a CoH vet. Blocking, for example. You don't block? You die. No questions asked. Either block or get stomped. Blocking doesn't let you attack, and I can't tell you just how much I hate having to sit there with the Block key held down waiting for 2-3 enemies to stop attacking long enough for me to get a shot in. I feel like all of my characters are constantly on the ropes with no opening.
The tutorial is rubbish, gives no information, and pits you against an enemy so powerful he'll waylay you anywhere from ten to twenty times before you wear him down enough to kill him. Thank the stars he didn't have health regeneration or I'd have quit the game immediately.
Another problem I've found is that there are "great powers" and "terrible powers" and no real middle ground. Some builds will be rampantly overpowered because of one or two powers, while other builds are nearly useless. Example: Power Armor is freaking absurd and makes playing other "tank" powersets look like wasted effort. Archery is to Munitions as a shotgun is to a straw and spitballs.
I really, really have a problem with games that have skills/powers that're so much more powerful than the rest of the game that they render the other choices obsolete. It's bad game design.
On top of that, the level-to-zone progression is so ridiculously unclear it's not even funny. Mill City, Desert, Canada, Vibora, Canada, Desert, Mill City, Desert, Canada, Vibora, and no way of knowing where to go next without talking to half the NPCs in the game for some kind of "go here now" quest. Always fun to go to Canada at level 22 and wind up trying to escape level 32 ice demons because you decided to explore.
Furthermore, the gear level drop system is baffling. At level 25 I have 9 pieces of gear for 35+ that dropped off of level 20's. What the ***** am I supposed to do with those and how the hell did they manage to be on the loot table for things 15 levels lower than they are?
Wow and wasn't just me in the tutorial nice to know. Made a new character in the last week and only died about 6 times. I don't feel super very often either, which seems a general complaint. Comparing 6 years of nonstop CoH to infrequent play though, so maybe champs gets more instinctive.
There may as well not be a tutorial now with how much they cut out of it and expecting you to watch videos in the powerhouse instead. Why is defender there and so useless? The block instructions came up fighting the end boss, and caused me to get hit because it was blocking the screen and couldn't see i HAD to block. Nice. -
Quote:Not really helping yourself here you know, you just sound jerky and condesending as they complained about. "Wow how stupid people must be not to be able to follow instructions." Yes the CO map still does it's best to get me lost. And better graphics? ah no way.Oh yeah, they're so snarky. What kind of jerks would set up a sticky thread in their forums and create several channels, plus plan a welcome to CO event for the day after COH closes!? These people sound like condescending jerks! And how dare they have the audacity to answer all COH player's questions with several pages of responses on their boards, while veteran CO players give assistance in game via channels! Man, those CO players. I don't know how they could have the nerve to go around, not insulting our graphics or our community. We can't let em get away with it!

like another knife to the heart.....sigh. That other guy, any wonder his server got such a bad name with inappropriate guys like him?
-
Man that looks great, breaks me to watch that video and know it's never going to be complete. Seriously screw ncsoft.

Quote:wow i had no idea about this. Must get, hope it has support for some of the old great mods that were independantly produced. You might want to wait until November 30 when Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition comes out.

Being told how to play
People thinking the game is hard where they have to tell people how to play
I-trials- ok after a while but sucked when they took away every player from doing missions and there was no alternative
Being dced during those same i-trials
The one hostage hiding in the far corner of the 6 level office map or COT map
Blindness
Sappers
Pointless ambushers
Any 'talk to security chief' run
People trolling my erp
Everything else just never saw enough to let it bother me too long -
Went back myself and made a new character. Kept my account going so i have most of the stuff and had been dablling in champions online still. Tutorial is better now, although maybe too light in telling a newbie what to do but it was ok. Having fun with it then ran into Blacktalon, and defender helpfully agroed the rest of the room. Guess he cames from the fuisionette school of npcs's. Anyway, after a few face plants i thought man that would be a turn off for anyone trying the game. I know that a i suck and he's supposed to be a challenge but spanking people in the tuturial won't encourage them into thinking the game is for them. Was tempted to log and start over if my power choices were that bad. And the one face!

Thank you everyone there at Paragon for creating the best game ever with all your love and hard work. How come the game has to end now after we've just been getting the best new content ever? Everything about the Dark Astoria revamp and Night Ward really are amazing.
-
Or they could not close or sell anything, cut costs first not all the jobs and any chance of bringing games back.
-
Added. Surprised to see a couple of Australians beat me, even some kiwis yay
-
ok let me see.
1. Who were the various other menders, we knew Silos was Nemesis but Dream Doctor talks of them all having sinister secrets.
2. What was the future of ouroboros and was any thought given to the risks of time travel and why our heros couldn't simply flashback and warn Statesman for instance or kill Wade before he even started hiring villains to rob the Midnighters for him.
3. Were there plans to involve Malta and their plots a bit more? They would hardly have liked every super power becoming incarnate and even harder to control. How do you blackmail a person that can fight armys single handedly, which we do in several places in the Dark Astoria arcs?
4. Were there plans to update or advance more story arcs and story lines a bit more? Things that our characters are meant to discover themselves become common knowledge or revealed in other places.
5.Was Synapse really managing to date two supermodels at once? If so why did we never get their costumes and why couldn't we?
6. was it Statesmans incarnate destiny that resulted in so many alternate worlds connected to primal earth revolving around him? And if so were there plans for more around other true incarnates, i assume all those people who had versions in Cimerora are incarnates whose destiny is to keep being reincarnated in some form wherever the well is involved
7.For that matter who is the good double that we meet and where are they from?
8. Were player characters ever going to become too big for the well? -
Yes thanks to everyone for 8 great years ,even if i had been sneaking off and cheating on you with the more popular servers lately. I'm sorry!
-
agreed, or something radioactive. Btw everytime i go into a thread and see your sig it makes me tear up again.
-
Yep those who lost thier jobs too are the real victims. They would have been half way through projects, ideas, storys that will now never be completed.

Novamaiden would be of use in the general entertainment sense, as a dancer, escort, fashion model, as you described or to cosplay as herself probably to liven up a gathering. She's well known enough that characters may hear of her but still cheap enough that just the idea of a party and some good promotions would get her there. Is free to work with any similar characters actually in a professional way if wanted. Hero side only though.

Quote:Yeah it's level range probably just needs to get pushed up a bit now so you don't level past it and people get referred to it rather than the hollows first. Perhaps kings row has been neglected in favour of atlas park by the pd and efforts in the rubble of galaxy city. Perhaps many police/rescue personel were lost in the meteor strikes and aftermath, leaving kings row a place undermanned, where people have felt forced to take on vigilante measures. CoT free to take captives, skulls running a protection racket with the local business and using them to import their magic for their death rituals or worse. Perhaps some sort of death demon being summoned. MoT sounds like a likely god of worship for the skulls does he not? Clockwork king flaunting his power in blue steels face, be nice to have more about the rivalry between he and Blue Steel and how it started and CK's reaction to Penny joing the Phalanx. And yes noir costume options would tie in as well. The new Atlas Park content actually sets up Kings Row even better than before - meetign Icedrone halfway through the Atlas storyline, then ending with Aaron Thiery is a perfect lead in to a zone that explores the vigilante style of crimefighting, with Blue Steel and the history of the Clockwork as an ideal story focus - plus, it also gives a great chance to explore the PPD a bit more - like how do normal beat cops feel about working in the city of heroes? Do they feel like they're always being overshadowed by superpowered crimefighters? Do they ever feel inadequate and undervalued because of it? Do they ever resent it, and would any of them ever be openly hostile to or uncooperative with heroes?

Recommend teachers don't accept or eat anything he leaves them though. And smilies from the joker have a whole different meaning.
-
Probably in SSA6 open an ouro portal and push sister psyche into it instead of Manticores idea. Or not let her talk to him earlier in the series to begin with. Too personally involved. Only one off the top of my head. Not directly going off the rails but probably do something to follow up on my double about where they came from. At least return them to their loved ones.
-
i dunno, seriously how would that work? How do you handle joker in that setting taking directions from a teacher? Teacher hands out tests, Bruce hands back a fully complete one he happened to prepare earlier. Cause he's batman and stuff. Plus hormones are flying enough in high school anyway. Add Poison Ivys pheromones to it, damn.

hmmm i can't apply an exact percentage, but it brought me back from hardly playing for a while to desprate to get on to see what DA would through at me next. Very nice delivery of great content. Best content isue in a while. And really gives those incarnates something to do other than trials and more trials, and does a wonderful job of making us FEEL epic now. Not getting taken out by rocks. Do an ITF with a toon then get plus 2 or 3 incarnate shifts and attack the cimerora missions in DA. See how satisfying that feels. For more fun do it solo, just cause you can. I haven't even started on the bonus of new powersets, stalker changes etc. Say each new set adds 50 hours play time or more to level. Stalkers too because it makes them so new. Include staff fighting etc too if you want. That's a lot of new enjoyment. More than i recall any recent issue apart from Going Rogue.
-
hmmmm left me very satisfied, particualrly that epic last mission. Leaves enough few loose ends to pick up later. We've now pointed a lot of other groups at DA, who will no doubt be plotting how to use some of the residue power for themselves. And the Pantheon are hardly going to be destroyed completely. I hoped there was more to come but i don't think it needed it yet. That epilogue story mission at the end wets the appetite though. That could have something to do with why you felt unsatisfied.
-
We are family........ahmmm anyway. Sorry to get serious in a steelclaw thread but yes i expect Psyche to turn up somewhere again considering her powers. Praetor Tillman isn't using her body any more correct? Shame to let it go to waste. I'd like it better if we end up discovering she's mind riding with us personally. And yes for gods sake keep Penny away from Lusca.

Quote:Synapse certainly hoped so, and considering they BOTH wanted to spend valentines with him. If anyone has time for two girls at once it's a super speedster. I don't think that's one of the young faces on mandy/candy in the screen shot either. Looks like the one my main used to have. Doesn't come up so well in that screenie though. With that cleavage who's looking at the faceIts Candy LeBaux.
Shes part of one of the taskforces in ouroborus, you also meet her twin sister Mandy LeBaux.
Twincest! <3
