Quote:check your forum emailI have had a great time trying to build a cool SG base. But the reality is that I don't have skill or the time to make that happen. I am looking for a tech-ish base can have some arcane. I have over 4 million prestige to spend. I don't know what is fair price wise but I can pay. Also have a small VG base that I would need done. I can pay better villian side due to a good friend leaving me all his stuff when he quit. Please help out, make suggestion, or anything.

Quote:It sure is available to 50's what you have to do is look on your map to see where the fire is, it will be a flashing marker, then find the firechief, he is not hard to find if you have your sound on. Get an extinguisher from him it's a temp power and start putting out the fires, there are a certain about of charges so once you run out just go back to him and get another one. The thing you have to beaware of is, the hellions around you will throw things at the fire to keep it going so you need to take some of them out which is part of the requirements of getting the badges. A good way to start is on the roof, also be warned, if you are doing it solo and you don't put out enough fires the building will blow up after a while and take you with it... so becarful... it's best way to do this is to try and get other people to help by either inviting them to your team or joining one... go to www.badge-hunter.com to find out more about these badgesI finally decided to get around to the Firefighter Badge on my Badger (50 dark/dark scrap). However, every time I answer a fire alarm in Steel, there is no fire. Is this badge unavailable to 50s? ParagonWiki was silent on the matter and the only reported problem I've seen here with the badge has to do with the progress bar. What am I missing?
Hope this helps -
Quote:/signedWhat makes this game the most fun IMO is the community itself. It has the greatest community of any game I have played. There are people in this game that I have known now for over five years. We have become friends. We enjoy playing together and having fun talking and sharing.
On a side note: Another way to find players is by joining a channel such as "Justice United" (shameful plug) which is on justice server, or asking on the forum for the names of other channels on the server you pick to go to...
The good channels like "Justice United" (another shameful plug?) are always broadcasting tf's, trials, raids and so on, plus there are really cool people on channels like Justice United (shame fest 2010) that will be happy to answer your questions about city of heroes
Of course this means you would have to switch from eu server to a na server and I'm not really sure you can do that based where you are from, not sure how that works... -

For the last couple of weeks I have noticed the in game display, being the chat, target, navigation, menu display all seem to hiccup for lack of a better term on my screen once and a while and I'm not the only the only one that has nocticed this, someone on a team I was on said they were getting the same thing.... does anyone have any idea what this is oe what might be causing it?

Quote:The point here is, people pay $15.00 per month to play this game, and believe it or not there are some people that do not care to go through the regular root, and learn the game the way it was setup to do. They will find someone or pay someone to pl them to 50 because they want to be a level 50 just like some of their friends that showed them the game or for whatever reason they have...Ok guys not to long ago I ran into an AE lvl 50 in PI. He knows nothing about the game. Has NO CLUE how to get anywhere. Gets the entire team killed repeatedly. THIS is what AE is producing and yes in greater numbers than you might think. Please for the love of Pete take EXP away from AE all together. Then you will find out who\ss really using AE for story telling and who isnt. Maybe increase ticket count or something. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
AE is one way to pl a toon, there are other ways as well, noobs getting pl'd is not an AE exclusive thing. If you invite someone you do not know then sorry to say, you get what you get. As a practice, when inviting a random to my team I check the toons info and see what I am getting, first thing I look for is vet status, if the toon is 50 and no vet badges then I keep and eye on them... if the tank I a mgetting has the healing pool I will ask them "what is up with that?" and so fourth. I have had 39 month vets who, like your AE Babies have no clue as well. It's something you have to deal with when inviting randoms to your team.
Like people have said, you can kick, ignore, and even give them a 1 star global rating to remind yourself this person is not someone you want to team up with using any toon.
When you invite a random it's a crap shoot, you hope the person has a clue and they can help the team be successful in what they are trying to, and better yet, be someone you might want to invite to your global friends list... then there is the other side, when you get the people that have no clue and try their hardest to prove to this to you... and end up doing just that... -
Quote:Got to love that... "sure you cna ern tickets, but you can't use them.." lolPeople on trials can use AE, but they can't use the consoles, meaning that someone else has to start the team, select the arc, etc for them. The trial would still earn tickets, but I don't know if the other parts of AE would talk to them, or tell them to go away.
maybe it's an insentive to get a real account? -
I agree 100% can't even count how many time I have used the Pocket D tp, even the silly jet pack which when you combine with ninja run... MEGA Super Jump! Although I wish the recharge on Mission Tp was 1 hour rather than 2.
-
Interesting answers... I would have thought the new one, which gives a self buff would be more popular... I guess time will tell
side note: I would love to be able to have Ninja Run work without the animation
while it is cool, it's very sisnter lookinggreat look for villains!
-
Out of all 5 which do you believe is a must have?
For me this was hard, because they all have something good, but I'd have to go with
the Ninja Booster pack, because of Ninja Run and the costumes are pretty good as well...
What do you guys think? -
Welcome to City
Another tip; check out the areas of this forum... there are a ton fo great guides made by other players that will better help you understand this game... and never be afraid to ask question in game or here liek you did. Most important of all, have fun!!! -
Getting it for free would be cool but it's only $10 bucks
also it will be out Thursday for all so there is really no need for anyone to stress over it... is there?

I'm glad the Monsterous glove topic has come up in this thread, let me expand it a little further... I made a toon with claws because the look fit what I wanted... A lot of the sets inlcude the Monsterous option (for some odd reason vanguard gloves do not) I love the look of the VG gloves but I can't use them on this particular toon because they have the normal hands, and that changes the look of the toon. I know to some people this is not a big deal "just find a gloves that do fit" but for me continuity is big, and the more options I have the better...
The question I have is... If something like adding the Monsterous option to these two new sets is a consensus, and people like me want it, can it, or will it be added to the product that has already been created?
In other words, will our feedback be it possitive or negitive affect what is to be released in the mutant booster pack? -
When it first came out, you had to accept or decline the Magic buff, which sucked if you missed it, then they made it so it was auto accept which was cool but i'm sure SOMEONE complained or for whatever reason they changed it back to player choice which is fine. How about making it like tp, where the player can choose in options to make it choose or auto... in fact how about expanding it to buffs like speed boost and other buffs you might not want... don't get me wrong, who doesn't love speed boost, but sometimes you don't want it, but the way it is now you have no choice!

I just wanted to say THANK YOU BEEF for all the time, work and money you put in for us, the badge collecting community!! I will without a doubt send in a donation to help ease the burden of expense and just a small way of saying thanks
-
Before picking a class think about what you might want to be as a hero or villain
then pick a class to fit that...
Like Deliverance_ said, there really isn't a "best" class they all are great if they fit into what your concept is, and if it fits your playing style
while making a toon you can see what they have for powers. That can help you better pick what type of class fits the concept you come up with...
The best advise I can give is; ask tons of question, either on this forum like you did or in game... this community for the most part rocks, and is full of very cool people that will be more than happy to guide you as well as help you go in the right direction...
Welcome to city of heroes/villains -
Quote:Yes, The old badge-hunter tracking site was seriously out-dated and could not be merged with the new software, so that old user accounts and characters had to be left behind in the redesign.
Now, to track characters, all you have to do is sign up to the site, and recreate your characters and start verifying again. I know this may come to be a pain, but thre was seriously nothing I could do to salvage the old database.
More details on everything will be posted soon, once the domain settles and is working again.
Beef
Welp it is what it is... one other thing, with the old site we could see all the badges we had via art I noticed with the new site it's more of a graph like base is it going to stay like that? -
Quote:Beef, does this mean we have to RE varify all our toons again for the new site?I made an announcement on the badge-hunter forums but unfortunately the site wasn't there long enough for many people to read it.
If you don't already know, I was redesigning the site and bringing everything under one roof. So to make a long story short, I closed the domain from the old hosting company and pushed it to the new hosting company, unfortunatley, the domain has not yet settled with the new hosting company, so until that happens the domains badge-hunter.com and vidiotmaps.com won't work.
Give it a day or so and everything will be back to normal with the new redesigned site -
Quote:In the two years that I have been playing this game and been involved in the base building community, this has never happened. At least, not in the manner you are thinking. Sunstorm fielded some questions... once... when he was "assigned" to us for i13.
The best we really ever got were a couple of community reps who took it upon themselves to communicate our concerns to the devs and act as go betweens (*toasts to ExLibris & Lighthouse*).
We DO have, and have had for some time now, a consolidated list (see my sig) of concerns and requests that the base building community has repeatedly voiced over the years... and I do mean years.
The list was started by Mad Scientist in early 2008 and he kept it updated until i13. I've recently updated it yet again. Make no mistake.... the Devs are aware of this list. They have been aware of this list for quite some time.
If they haven't made the effort to come to us by now, I have very low expectations of it happening any time soon.
I agree, and if this is the case and it sure seems like it is... then it is up to us to keep doing stuff like this... mention it at meet and greets let them know it's important
there is a saying... "The squeaky wheel gets the grease" or something like that...
I understand that base building is low on the totem poll but the more you speak out the more they might listen and atleast give us an idea as to what is going on with it if anything at all... -
Quote:Indeed, one of the main reasons I got hooked to this game was because of the character creation part of this game... you are able to make something unique, that has YOUR signature on it, no matter how crazy you want to get, which is itself makes it speical. Many games do not have that... Example: Guild Wars... you get to pick certain faces and costumes and there are many to choose from but you can't really change the looks like you can in coh, and the worse thing for me is to be in town and see a character that looks exactly like mine... same face, same hair, same armor and have the other guy say... "we are nothing alike, your armor is red mine is blue... TOTALLY different!!! Ugh, yeah right whatever...I see I'm not the only one who feels a connection to these characters. I get very fond of them, and deleting those would be like losing a friend...I always try to make them unique in looks, bio and they all have a 'personality'. I have deleted some, but it was because that special connection wasn't there, so I didn't play them much. I still have the very first toon (with original costume) that I created six years ago. Healix and I have been through a lot together, and I'll never delete her.

I agree, if you are in a pvp zone then you are indeed at the mercy of the pvpers since it is their zone, having said that, for the most part if you notify the players that are in the zone that are not hidden what you are doing there most if not all will not mess with you. There are always going to be times when you run into an a hole and you have to either do it at another time or get some sg mates to go with you and so on.
Some added advise:
Always try to grab a heavy if you can, they help protect you and they are great with doing damage to pillboxes and you do get a badge for them as well.
Depending what side you are working on for badges, it's a good idea to log on the opposite
toon to check out what you might be up against. (this only works if you have one of course) this will let you talk to other villains/heros so you can inform them you are switching toons to do some badge work in the zone.
Hope this helps
