  1. Pick the set with Siphon Life because it's just that good.
  2. I recommend going with DM/Elec, it meshes much better than DM/FA and energy attacks are more prevalent than fire so you won't feel as squishy. The -end/-recovery from /ElA and /Mu compensate for DM/s lack of AoE mitigation and should help keep you on your feet longer than /FA.

    DM/Elec should be a better match for your recharging suit concept as well. Here's a DM/Elec build for reference if you decide to go this route. It's an I19 build, but with I19 in open test, you can probably count on it being live by the time you hit 50.

    +Perception is useful in PvE against attacks that cause -Perception such as the Arachnos's Smoke Grenade which you run into a lot red side (I'm uncertain if it helps against Placate). However, all of the builds here have Tactics so the IO is probably unnecessary.

  5. After I finish my DM/SD Scrapper I'm planning on building this Fire/Psi/Ice. It's a I19 build, but it really doesn't need the fitness pool since DP is permed so you can run it without needing to wait for I19.

    I highly recommend going with /Ice. Getting Hoarfrost, Sleet, Ice Storm, and Frozen Armor in one APP needs to be classified as a war crime. A Tanker Heal and Defense Toggle, a Defender -Res, and a Blaster AoE; yes please.

  6. I'm not sure if it fits with your Iron Man concept, but I'd try going KM/FA and pick up Blaze Mastery. You'll have a decent range attack chain with Ring of Fire -> Fire Blast -> Focused Burst. You can use Fire Ball + Repulsing Torrent for range AoE and Burn + Burst + Blazing Aura for melee AoE. Not to mention Fiery Embrace will mesh well with the Blaze Mastery attacks.

    DP seems like it is very proc friendly with the wide range of secondary effects in its attacks.
  8. I've been playing my DM/WP Brute for a while now and lately I'm finding his damage lacking so I'm planning on rerolling him as a DM/SD Scrapper when I19 rolls around. His damage looks a lot better and I think I have most of the bases covered, but I have concerns that his survivability might have taken a hit. I'm currently scratching my head on where I can go with this build so I'm looking for advice on ways to make him a bit more sturdy. For reference I've also posted his current Brute build.

  9. I recommend going with a Fire/Cold Controller or Corruptor if you both start out on Praetoria. Fire has strong AoE damage and control which works well with Spines and /Cold is just a great set. It has +recovery, +HP, +defense, +resistance and a ton of debuffs.
  10. The duration of the recharge doesn't change, just the available time for the recharge.

    So the formula should be
    (Recharge Time) / ((Arcanatime - Cast Time) - Noise + Time Till Next Activation)
    for the required recharge.

    If the noise causes the recharge to begin after the activation time, then you have less time available and so need more recharge than expected.

    So for your Follow Up example:
    12s / ((1.056s - 0.83s) - 0.26s + (1.584s + 1.32s)) = 418%
  11. This should get you a bit closer to what you want. One with the Shield is a free power choice so you can pick up Vengeance or something else if you want. MG is at 4.5s, but if you swap the Recharge/Endurance IO for a pure Recharge you'll be under 4.48s. If endurance is an issue then keep the slotting if not go with the recharge.

  12. I don't believe any of your builds can run the MG/Smite/SL/Smite chain seamlessly. MG is the long pole in the attack chain. You need to get its recharge time down to about 4.48 seconds to maintain the chain.
  13. An Electric/Thermal/Primal Controller seems effective at sapping. Mids says Power Boost would give you a 122.925% boost which seems devastating with Heat Exhaustion. You could also go /Cold for the -End from Heat Loss.
  14. Defense allows you to avoid getting hit by mez and debuffs most noticeably Sappers. Resistance has a much harder time avoiding these which can result in more cascading failures.

    Finally!!

    I prefer that all my toons have some way to heal themselves. My BS/SD picked up Aid Self to fill this need. Put two heals and two recharges in it and you should be good to go.
  16. The Achilles Heel proc stacks with the Fury of the Gladiator -Resist proc. I believe the bonus is multiplicative as well so grabbing both seems worth it.
  17. You might want to look at your endurance consumption and see if you can maintain your attack chain. With the endurance consumption of Soul Drain, Hasten, and your attack chain, you might find yourself running out of gas at times. Something to look into.

    Taunt Spammers

    This isn't really unique to taunt spammers. I have this happen on SFs with my DM/WP brute as well. /WP just doesn't hold aggro all that well since it has a very weak taunt aura. It's best to just work around the issue. When there are 2-3 mobs left, just jump ahead to the next spawn, take the alpha, and whittle them down. Once the team shows up and you get that spawn down to 2 or 3 mobs just wash, rinse, and repeat. The alpha along with brawl on auto is normally enough to keep you up above 70% or so.

    Here are a few tips.

    1. All of your toggles and autos (except HPT) should only have 3 or 4 slots in them, any more is overkill because the bulk of your end consumption comes from your attacks.

    2. Drop Focused Accuracy and pick up Heightened Senses, it provides more defense than Weave and CJ combined to exotic damage types and a decent amount to Smashing/Lethal.

    3. I highly recommend slotting your attacks with 4 Kinetic Combats (less the proc) and the quad and Acc/EndRedux/Rech Mako IOs for all of your attacks. Your Defense will improve substantially and your endurance usage be a lot better.

    This isn't quite true, if you fix the URL and then open it in a browser it will still work.
    Here are the steps needed to get them to work:

    1. Right-click the URL and select "Copy Link Location"
    2. Paste the URL in Notepad (or any text editor)
    3. Replace all "&" with "&"
    4. Copy and Paste the updated link in your browser

    It's a bit of work, but the links still function fine after following those steps.
  23. Dark Melee pairs best with a Secondary that has a taunt aura because it makes keeping mobs in range of Soul Drain a whole lot easier and because the set is lacking in AoE so your attack's taunt doesn't help much in that regard. The two most common being Shields and Invulnerability.

    Willpower is also very good, but its rather difficult to hold any aggro when on teams so getting more than one or two mobs in range of Soul Drain can be a chore. Not to discount the set because it is very strong, it's just not very team friendly if you normally play as the groups tank.

    As to the market discussion, the lack of a sufficient cash sink is causing a disproportionate increase in the supply of influence/prestige in the game. However, it is quite amazing how fast people are to give up their cash when a sufficiently good reason is provided (cash for clunkers for example). So if the developers provide such a reason for people to burn their cash, the market can return to normal.
