Been toying around with making a room with a second floor and my first idea of using coffee tables is turning out... tiring. I have the height I want and was wondering what others use for the floor of their second floors that isn't see-thru from the bottom. Thanks!

It's always a good time to come back. -

Okay, I have to ask this.
If a fix for the animations was available this quickly, wouldn't it have made more sense to have waited 1 day to release the SuperScience Booster pack without the bugs?
Yeah, I know people have been whining all over the forums that it isn't available yet, when will it be here, etc. But 1 day to have a fix and it gets pushed out buggy anyway?
If it was something that was going to take several days, I "might" be able to understand not waiting, but 1 day? Seriously?
Someone take a pipe wrench and beat the Marketing people over the head repeatedly, please.

They probably have limited control on when NCSoft turns on the billing for this sort of thing. If the billing was up, people bought the booster, then couldn't access it in-game... Well, that would obviously be bad. -
Nope. In fact, I'd be disappointed if MA did get double XP. There's an obvious risk vs reward issue with MA; no need to exacerbate it.

One man's flaw is another man's path of play. It's like saying "play the way you want, but not THIS way." Contradictory, whether you want to admit it or not.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
The XP in AE "can" be abused and, I feel, should be addressed. That doesn't mean I think people should stop playing AE. In fact, for pure entertainment, AE wins my attention nearly every time (although having played almost all the standard content might have something to do with that). For your statement to work, you have to believe AE always equals farm experience. I, obviously, don't view it that way. I see AE as a way to express myself creatively as well as view works from other creative people. In fact, if you enjoy defeating 30 MOBs at once, I don't have a problem with it. I just feel the current rewards don't match the actual risk involved and should be lowered.
And in that regard, there was a "farm" mission involving Lord Recluse zombie clones, the Freakshow, and a lot of bad, bad things. If you just went in and killed the MOBs, yes, it was a farm mission. However, there was a decent story with good writing behind it all -- a reason for so many AVs and Freakshows on the map. I ran the mission, enjoyed it, gained several levels in several hours (we played it to the end), and the story had a cool wrap up. You want a grey area on farming? There you go. "Farming" missions where the missions doesn't just say, 'click the bomb to exit'. That's why I'm afraid when the AE fixes come down, some decent missions are going to be hurt if they limit the number of bosses/EBs/AVs. Hopefully the fix will address the rewards, not the means to the end. -
First things first, for those that don't know: CoH: Mission Planner
This is a handy application that allows you to edit AE missions offline. The biggest use is to get the bulk of your text in place or to copy and paste objectives (at least for me anyway). Huge kudos to the author!
The problem is, the last update was in April and although the project says it's not dead, the delay is due to a lapsed game account. I would love to see this project brought back, updated, and continued with new features... but my hopes in the matter are fading.
So now I'm asking the public if there is an alternative. An offline editor that helps with my text, mission objectives, and maybe even map pictures. If there is an active project in alpha or beta, I will gladly help with testing or information gathering (sorry, I'm not a coder unless you're working with BASIC).
I feel that AE has a lot of untapped potential in part due to the in-game editor being a bit intimidating for some players. Not being able to copy and paste or color text easy can become frustrating when you just want to get your story out there. I'm hoping there are more efforts on the offline AE mission front, or maybe even ones I've simply missed.

Thankfully, CoX has evolved to a point there is no "Path to Success". After many many years, players finally have options on how to get from 1 - 50. They can choose what fits their playstyle and enjoy the game they way they want to enjoy it.
Does something need to be done about allowing someone to gain six levels in one AE mission? Yes. Only because it is an obvious flaw in the current system. Past that, let people play how they want to play. -
The Server Status page has always been full of surprises and wonderment. It always makes me giggle when we're told to watch it for updates.

They are NEVER going to level or time restrict AE, so the ones of you singing that tune might as well learn a new song. It's one of the huge selling points of the game now. That's also the exact same reason the buildings are all over the place. They want CoX to be known for AE (in part), so taking the access away from people isn't going to happen either. -
I'm glad most people enjoyed my tragic tale of woe and misery.
My latest character is Bane Spider who I'm hoping to use as a Brute-type Tank. From what I understand, I'll be posting here again real soon. -

The chat bug has sucked for so long, they almost need to add it as a part of the game a la 'Super Fun Happy Slide' in King's Row.
The plaque should just read:
wwwwwwwwwwwwwwddddddddaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasssssssssssss sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssorry.
They can stick it in the hidden room in Faultline... Saying it ever gets fixed. -

While I understand your pain and have had to make costume changes in the past for the same reason, please don't discourage upgraded textures. The sooner we can get rid of those blurry abominations, the better. -

Unlikely. Calling these cards by name mean you know their value. So, they were either not yours, the story is untrue, you are so wealthy throwing away money is acceptable, the cards were in a condition that made them not valuable, or you are/were mentally deficient. Of those possible situations, the story being untrue is the most likely.
Also, while the purple sets are indeed awesome, they aren't alway the best set or the character... Maybe you can take some comfort in the OP =) -

What about Transferrence from Kinetics? Since it doesn't do damage, but takes and gives END? -
You know what I hate? Those stupid hazard zone street sweeping teams. Just going around the same two or three blocks over and over and over. Never wanting to do missions or task forces. Don't they know you get more debt when you die outside a mission? Also, it totally screws up everything for people looking to "Kill 10 This" or "Defeat 30 That". It's just sucks!
/this rant brought to you by 2004! -
Best I can tell, Xs in the legend are placed as Os on the map and vice versa. The only map I can 100% confirm this for is the Hellion building arson since I've been working with it a lot recently.
Also, the spawn locations (front, middle, and back) don't seem to always follow the rules. For a while, I was convinced that only wall placement items were showing up as such: Front = Front, Middle = Back, Back = Middle. As I was doing my last test before a map server disconnect, my boss character who had been very good about spawning at the back of the map like she should, spawned in the middle with no editing between attempts. When I checked to see what might have spawned in her spot, it was empty. Again, for the same map I mentioned before.
I love MA. Really love the new additions. But boy is it a test of wills at times. -
Ill keep it short and sweet Family. Religion. Friendship. These are the three demons you must slay if you wish to succeed in business.

Besides denying some folks a couple of hours of gameplay, how does that affect the average person in this game? I'm not asking folks to dismiss the less-than-ideal way it's being handled. I'm just suggesting that some perspective be used. YMMV.

Well, I don't think we're killing people in the streets over it. At least I'm not. The OP hasn't been around for a while... ... ... *locks door* -
I'm not going to fight the OP fight for him, but he's not complaining (well, not this thread anyway) about scheduled maintenance; he's complaining they just shut down the servers for a patch they knew they were going to apply without telling the people who were on the servers playing the game.
If you were playing, knowing the servers were going down in two hours for maintenance you're used to seeing, had events planned out accordingly (or was finishing a task force or whatever) and then you get a five minute message saying the servers were going down... Come on. That would suck. And there's no reason for it. It's not like the patch team woke up this morning and just noticed there was a patch to push down. They've probably know about this for at least a week. They could have given an a couple hours warning in game and on the boards. That's all it would have taken (for me at least).
And what I think makes it worse is they do keep saying, "Um, sorry. We'll do better next time" without doing better next time. It's something that seems so simple from our side of the fence, it's hard to understand why it isn't getting done. I work with big corporate servers. We have to give two weeks notice for planned outages to all our clients. I'm not asking for two weeks, but a couple hours would be nice. -
He is right folks. If they brought down the servers without warning for something scheduled (at least for them), that's pretty crappy; and they do that a lot. The reason they're doing it shouldn't matter, it comes down to courtesy to your player base.
Also, saying this is the release of Issue 15, which we're pretty sure it is, why does do these never get formally announced? I know it was strongly hinted at and they don't want to make promises they can't keep, but if you're bringing down the servers and preventing play, we as players need to know about that.
The OP might be a little over the top angry, but I think he's trying to make a point and I do understand why he's angry about it. All I'm sayin'. -

If everyone can't tell, this should all be taken in good fun. Although I was really confused and disappointed in my newest aquarium acquisition at first, it's not like I'm openly weeping in the middle of some interstate waiting for the next semi of sweet release.
Just read it, picture it, be amused, post a giggle if ya want, and move on.
