Take it, or dont. You're still beneficial either way. Quit whining when people offer their opinion.

Also: Lolz to the guy with the Troll Spray.

I disagree with that. Put a Fire/Fire Blaster in a group with a Tanker and the Blaster will redirect enemy fire.

And, quite simply, that can be humorous.

I believe they mean powers that do something to another character's costume, etc. For example, Shadow Fall basically eliminated the boots and causes them to become semi-transparent, which would effect judging.

And as for Hot Feet (And I assume Dispersion/Force Bubble would be included in this), they mean powers that extend obnoxiously. If you're worried about, say, Accelerate Metabolism, your best bet would be to step far back, cast it on yourself, and get back in line. That's how I would do it, but I'm not the PERC, so better off taking it up with them.

Lets not forget (The Real) BABs is luz@urface in PvP. Somewhat off-topic, but still.

And yeah, Ghost Widow sucks. She's not unkillable. It may seem like it, but she's not. Your team just has to perma-hold her before PToD/She holds you.

(It's like a hug of death...)
  6. IMO, AE should be saved for those who actually know how to play the character they're PLing. Which is why I haven't AE'd a Controller. Because for the life of me I cant get out of Scrapperlock
  7. In my opinion, I would suggest trying out a Claws/Willpower Scrapper. Based on my experience, it was an extremely fun trip to 50. In my experience there wasn't a "slump" that some characters face in the 30s. It was pure shred the entire way.

Since you're a six-year veteran, I assume you know or at least have an idea on how to place knockback. This is almost essential for a Claws/Willpower. Using Shockwave, you can herd a group into a corner, jump onto the other side of them and use Shockwave to knock them down while still keeping them in range for Rise To The Challenge. Quick and easy mitigation while sustaining your godly Regen.

Keep in mind though, you cant Tank as well as Tankers, at least not until you have IOs. Based upon my Miles Per Kill (MpK), to the Claws/WP, IOs are like Superman's sunlight. A little crack boost to up the MpK. Except this crack doesn't wear off and leave you scratching your neck. I slotted for Positional Defense, and I'm at (I believe) 20ish percent to Melee and Ranged, and AoE I dont really care about. This is entirely up to you. You could slot for Typed Defense to give your Claws/WP an edge against a certain Enemy Group, or go all around like I did.

As for survival, it's pretty amazing what I can survive. I try to serve a sort of "backup Tanker" purpose, should the Tanker lose some aggro to trigger-happy Blasters, etc. But keep in mind, you cant take Alpha Strikes too well (which is what the Blasters are for). After the Alpha, you can hold yourself pretty well even without IOs.

All in all, it's a pretty fun combo with few cons and lots of pros. Obviously Robots and Rikti Drones are going to be a pain in your behind. Freakshow as well, I think (Correct me if I'm wrong). But Carnies are going to be your gold mine. For whatever strange reason Lethal damage shreds them (no pun intended), so once you get in the 40s, aim for those missions as much as possible.

A note on Fitness. It's not "necessary," but it definitely helps. I picked up Health at 24, and Stamina at 35, and never looked back.

Of course, the above is mostly my own opinion, and YMMV
  8. An important thing to remember that I go by is that AoE damage isn't too common blueside (Not sure about high-Redside) so you dont have to have that softcapped.

Will save you a few million at least *shrug*

Edit: Got my d-words confused again

I would say that's a negatory, because the crash gives the finger to any non-temp attacks (Yes, Brawl too =( ).

But ST damage is necessary as well, as AoE attacks generally do less damage. Energy Melee, for example.
  10. ..Follow Up + Spin + Crit is the definition of awesome.

..I no longer know the word death.

..Having a Melee attack chain and a Ranged attack chain is pretty cool.

    ..IOs.

..If I get bored with a team I can just run off the other way and still hold my ground.

..And, last but not least, spamming I Am Scrapper! during the ITF Rommy Nictification scene.

    Willpower?

    <QR, somewhat>

Edit: Whoops, forgot you wanted advice haha. To me, Defense comes first when IOing out a WP Scrapper. Then HP, then Regen. Most likely, going for Defense will also net you the HP and the Regen.

IMO, Stamina isn't necessary but helps very much. Willpower is a set that (obviously) comes with Stamina On Steroids, in the form of Quick Recovery. In my build, below, I picked up Stamina at 35 and didnt throw any slots into it.

Anyways, here's the build. I'll edit in the totals for those without Mids available if necessary.

    Hey Devs!

Perhaps a "Toxins" set of some sort.

Although that doesn't sound too much better than Poison
  13. Neutrino_Siphon

    Stamina?

I can agree with everyone here who's for having Stamina on a Willpower toon. I snagged it at...I think 30 pre-IOspec. At 30 my Claws/WP Scrapper turned from a Death Dealing Mindless Slasher to a Slaughterfesting Bloodlusting Lacerater.

It's scary how long you can go in a fight, with the proper amount of Regen, of course. Which isn't a problem with Rise to the Challenge (RttC).

    And, welcome to the game
  14. I only have two, cause I'm a teamer and no one plays Redside :P

I Am Ghost: L36 SS/Invul: My Redside main that's in semi-retirement. He's pretty tough for being Invul. Not much lasts long against him. He slaughters bosses and Perma-Rage + Footstomp wrecks anything in his way.

The Armageddon Effect: L12 Fire/SR: Now this guy I like. A lot. Lots of damage, lots of "Avoided!" and "Defelcted!" pop up, which makes me feel like I'm cool. I cant wait to get this guy to SO's

    ? / Inv

I can throw down a vote for SS/Invul. Mine has a habit of Tanking. A lot. Even at L36 I'm pretty badass.

Remember: Foot Stomp is your friend.

But a real Claws/WP herds them into a corner and keeps Shockwaving into said corner. >
...Although, I'm talking about my IO'd out death machine.

Leveling up, I agree with Claws to a point. I wouldn't skip it entirely as it's a good "oh siznit" attack, unless you're stuck with those lovely baddies that dont KB. It's good, quick damage and it almost always hits at least one of the baddies you're attacking.

And remember, 40-50, Carnies are your best friends.
  18. In my opinion, Decimate the Weak by Winds of Plague fits Scrappers. Since, ya know. Everything is weak for us.

(I'd include the video but the code to do so escapes my mind >_< )
  19. Neutrino_Siphon

    Electric Melee

I think they classify the "electrical shock" as a sleep, but is unenhancable. Probably a bug/error of some sort.
  20. Meh, I could go along for this. As if my Claws/WP wasn't godly enough =P
  21. For Blueside:

Claws/Invul Scrapper (Yeah, Invul) and Sonic/Sonic Defender

-Why? Claws does Lethal damage, and is a commonly resisted damage type late-game. With the /Sonic Blasts, enemies will have -Resistance, which to a Scrapper is essentially +Damage. And /Invul has very high resists to Smashing and Lethal, which is often used by...well, everyone. But Invul's resists to everything else is sub-par compared to S/L. Sonic's shields will help fill that gap while bringing the S/L resists to the cap (75%). And, you wont even need to pick up Tough and/or Weave to bring your resists up, opening power slots for APPs, Power Pools, etc.

    For Redside:

I would suggest two Stalkers. IMO, DM/Nin and DM/Regen or even /SR if you want to have fun.

-Why? Because they look fun. The double stacked -Acc/-WhateverItsCalled from Dark Melee will boost your Defenses, letting you get hit less and Scrap more. IMO, that's how Stalkers should be played. Open up with AS on the strongest enemy and proceed to slaughter. Like a somewhat less-protected Scrapper.

Keep in mind I'm MUCH less educated in the ways of the (Red) Dark Side, so I could be completely and utterly wrong. YMMV.

Whatever build you and your girlfriend play, hopefully it's a fun one =)

As far as I know LR doesn't Crit. The last thing we need is a BU + Crit LR o_O
