Quote:Did you apply the G v E to your account? Usually, there will be a prompt to apply a serial code to your PlayNC account. Once you've done this, log out and back in and you should be good to go.I have just recently bought the City of Heroes / villains : good V.S Evil edition, Yet i can only make Heroes... How do i make a villain?
It'll look like this
Apply serial code - Bla bla bla XX12 BLA
Apply to account - NewUser
Your account has been upgraded!
Then, when you go to your account info it will be at the bottom.
In the event you have done this and still can't make villains, I'd contact customer support and they will walk you through a process or fix it for you.
Welcome to the game! -
Patron Arcs on my Plant/Psi, RWZ arcs on my Fire/Elec Brute, Television arcs on my Stone Melee Brute.
I'll likely throw some Dev's Choice arcs into the rotation once the new team settings go live, some of those have nice mob placements and closed quarter maps. -
Quote:Guilty as charged.
I saw that some had sold recently for 500,000. I put up one stack for 80,000 a piece. I immediately sold one for 500,000 and not three seconds later bought two more for 5,000 influence.
Hello? Reason? Are you out there?
I sell piles of crafted recipes each morning, make my millions when I come back from work. Dropping 500,000 on an uncommon or even common at times is trivial. I'll make vastly more from my transaction. Even if I don't, one million for anything is like spending 25 cents for the morning paper, completely trivial and inconsequential.
You can do good movement with rares as well. I flipped stacks of 10 Pangean Soils during 2XP and cleared tens of millions in profits (just as a break from my normal routine).
As Nethergoat is fond of saying, money rains from the sky in the game...find a niche you enjoy and go nuts. -
Trance on Infinity was pretty epic on his Thug/Poison MM. Never really gave a second thought to how MMs were handled in PvP but he was good enough to explain things, at least.
-
Quote:No, it really doesn't.
Fightclubbing only effects the ones that are involved, if they left the zone to PD the zone would be empty, why not allow the 2 or 3 mins duel for the sake of a busy zone.
Point in question, last night I logged in my Ill/Emp to have some fun in RV.
I got invited to a team with seven (!) Regen Scrappers (!). So I putz around a bit, going to where the green arrows are representing my teammates. I find one of them and start casting AB/Fortitude/Clear Mind/Green RA to help out.
Scrapperd00d (raging): "NO BUFFS WE ARE DOOLING!!!!"
Me: "But you invited an Emp to your team, don't you want to be stronger?"
Scrapperd00d: "DUEL! NO BUFFS OR INSPS!"
Ooookay.
So I wander off, get hit by a few Impales, find more of my teammates duelling near the hospital. I proceed to rebuff them etc, throw Blind, drop PA, same thing. Mad rage at me doing my job despite being invited to a team to do so.
Ah, you ask HOW this hurts me at all?
How about the fact that a team with seven freaking Regens got not a single kill outside of some Tarantula? Not a single rep point gained, not a single chance for a PvP drop, nada.
If those 7 players had spiked one or two targets and say, defeated them (I know, crazy talk...) there would have been MORE fights and MORE PvP instead of the tortoise-paced combat that occurred. -
Quote:Actually it can, you just need to loophole the experience system to do it properly. >.>
This cannot be done outside of AE without bridges, so only 3 lowbies max can get the great XP.
Quote:Post I16
Whether in AE or not, all the lowbies will SK up to 49 regardless, so you can do AE or not for the same XP rewards, so may as well do non AE for the chance of purples. -
Quote:You're forgetting Accolades and defensive Tier 9s....Right once every 10-15 minutes.
Extremely exploitable I know. Then you could pop off two infernos once every....
10-15 minutes?
Extremely exploitable, I rescind my idea because of how deadly and exploitable this really is.
This could lead to powers such as the Vet Recall being perma, among more trifling items. Just having Archmage up all the time would be pretty nice though, as would be having Geas, Elude, other Tier 9s...insta-dual builds would just be over the top good.

Quote:Actually, looking at the article indicates it's part of Body Mastery!Argh....guess I'll just have to wait till more I16 info becomes available. Hopefully, the wait won't be too much longer
The bit about Dev's Choice and Hall of Fame seems odd since Hall of Fame seems to have dissipated from the collective mindset and Dev's Choice have slowed down a bit as well. -
What about Speculators?
I know when Merits were going live, I hoarded about 3 bins of Pool Cs, waited a while then made a killing. Also made a boatload off Hami sales early on.
There are those (and I count myself among them) whose fun is in examining patches/new powersets, finding an IO niche and maximizing profit therefrom.
While I'd classify myself as a PLer/Lazy Casual I guess. I almost never complain about prices though, since I list low enough to get the next sale.
It really depends how bored/wanting to game I am at the time. I'll twiddle with the bids for stuff on salvage. If my bids aren't filled I'll just drop 4 million on an Alchemical Silver of 1 million on a Luck Charm, or hit AE and purchase stuff for resale.

Quote:It's likely an add-on to an existing epic powerset. That's fan-friggin'-tastic!!! I just might have to change up!
Hells has always needed some fireballs for his theme!!!
Just noticed this, but what is "Physical Perfection?" Is that a new power altogether or is it from another set?
(Loose lips sink ships and that). -
Quote:Looking forward to padding my Phipps mission so I can finish Outlaw in one run.Even better than I thought it would be!
Can't wait to spawn my zombie farm for 8 with no bosses.
Also hoping I can do -Level +player setting for massive farm potential. From what I read lower levels enables bosses, boo. -
Hehe.
I occasionally get requests like that.
I was marketeering in Talos the other day and a level 22 accosts me:
"Can u spare inf?"
(Too busy to care, hand them 2,000,000).
"Not enuff"
'That will buy you single origins at leel 25, enjoy."
"I need mracle +recov"
'Yep, you sure do need a miracle, good luck there!'
Of course, not everyone is a mooch. I was doing a Manticore TF once, waiting in Atlas for the clicky mission and a level 11 asked me where they can level to 14.
I tell them to his Steel Canyon, beat up on some Outcasts and Council or do some newspapers or even Montague's arc. They seemed pretty distraught and wanted 14 in a hurry. I opened a trade window and went to offer them some inf but it blocked me at 50,000 or so. He then explained he was on a trial and that if he hit 14 on his own (no one else levels him) his dad will validate his account.
I exed down to him after the tf and we had a grand time beating stuff up.
Generally though, I'll /ignore beggars, especially when they spam me for AE Boss Farms when my 'search' specifically says "NO FARMS (AE or other)".
Sigh -
Farming existed way before IOs.
Used to run 4-5 Hami raids a week on Champion pre-I9, sometimes several in the same day depending on respawn.
Dreck used to be a prime ground for influence farming, as we needed around 5,000,000 inf per alt for Single Origins. People sold Hamis as well in the day...needed a bunch of inf for those Micros and Ribos.
Devs know about farming. Their badge requirements pretty much guarantee they encourage it: 500 decoys, 10,000 (now 1,000) Rikti monkeys, millions of damage taken, etc.
Devs seem to dislike PL more than inf farming as they really want to keep people logged in. Not going to do much as we're always going to find the most efficient XP benefit, super-sidekicking or no.
Lastly, price caps are terrible. If you can LOTGs at 5,000,000 people will just sell them to each other for 70-100 million and no one will list them on the Market.
The Markets create a kind of meeting point between buyers and sellers. It isn't perfect because you can tweak the last five, but there it is. -
I have a 50 IOd Rad/Therm and love her.
You can slot a bunch of procs in Neutrino Bolt (Apoc, Achilles, Shield Breaker, Lady Grey are a few options) for a fast-firing attack. Cosmic Burst does respectable damage and you also have a snipe if that tickles your fancy.
/Therm has great stuff like Heat Exhaustion and Melt Armor along with the PBAoE heal, the Shields aren't that great in PvP these days though.
/Pain gives you a nice +Regen aura, a PBAoE Heal, various great team buffs and a debuff as well.
Can't go wrong with either but /Pain has a ton of tools. -
I don't think any NPCs will give you this info. You largely will have to track it yourself pre-debt, then you can use debt as a quantifier as well.
-
Got a LOTG 7.5 during a Hami raid on Champion, then rolled one in the 40-44 range off the 52 Merits I got.
Friend got same LOTG 7.5 during an ITF.
Good times -
They'd have to add more SOs, 10-15 more levels of content, re-code Hamis and purples and other stuff to drop at the new cap, etc.
Better off using parallel content to expand the game at the levels that need it, rather than making more grindiness and more loot-gathering. -
Quote:I thought this list would be shown in a Test Patch Note as they were posted yesterday by someone else I know from another site, hmm...wondering if I'm posting something I'm not supposed to >.>
Looks good overall but as Beta isn't 'open' yet, ymmv if these go live I guess.
Wait and see but if the redside accolade is accurate, as well as illusionists, this is full of win.
-
Ninja, I'd be glad to help out with keeping track of schedules/results etc.
Thanks for the heads up. -
Quote:Who said every one of your toons needs to be purpled? That's vastly unrealistic, even if you PvP a lot.
Even the most hardcore player in the WORLD (who most likely doesn't play this game...haha) would not be able to set out all those toons based on your "average influence earned" in the lifetime of this game. So, basically, unless you pay money to those influence companies, or you don't have a job and play ungodly amounts of hours per week , you're not going to be able to ever really afford to "set out" a build with purples OR PvP IOs with post-AE prices, barring the extremely occasional "luck of the draw" drops.
And people say this game doesn't encourage farming.
What a crock.
"The One"
Hey here's a story for you:
In my SG we have a mix of people, young and middle-aged with different commitments. One of the members is a 15-year old kid. He plays baseball, has a girlfriend, works 6-7 hours a day for expenses and his bills (pays for his CoH account, his phone line, some food expenses). He has a MA/SR Scrap which had basic IOs in its build.
In TWO WEEKS after I explained the Market, crafting, tickets he had over 175,000,000 on him. How did he do it? He cashed in tickets, crafted and sold. He crafted drops and sold them. He cashed in Merits for recipes, crafted those and sold them.
5-10 million per recipe sold x 4 = 20-40,000,000.
Salvage sales = 15,000,000
Tickets turned into more Pool A recipes and sold = 30,000,000 +
He then bought a bunch of Red Fortunes, Crushing Impacts, an occasional LOTG for +Regen and +Health as well. His build is good enough that by his own admittance "I'm so much more powerful now its great" (sic).
If a 15-year old in grade 10 or 11 whose economic knowledge consists of "Work a part-time job, get money to spend" can make a fortune just playing a few hours a week, anyone can!
I also have a married couple with 5 kids in my SG. The husband, wife and their nephew log in 3 hours per week at most. They make tens of millions just selling crap on the market. The husband just plows Freakshow on one of his old farm maps, has no freaking idea what AE does and still makes tens of millions.
My Warshade, The Casual Player, has two million inf at level 9 just from selling salvage and cashing in tickets.
It does not take months to get over 100,000,000.
You do not need to have every build with two builds purpled.
You can slot well with a combination of uncommon/rare and basic IOs and Hamis.
Money rains from the sky in this game. EVERYTHING you do gives you money or outlets for money. -
He might need the Swashbuckler history badge or one of the explores as well for Headline Stealer but yeah...asking someone not to attack you is painting a bull's eye on yourself...
-
Used to be the Training Room.
Try Freedom for a largish PvP population. -
Quote:Agreed.we had that with the rep system... and you see how fast people turned that into a joke.
There are a ton of people on this forum that spring to mind through their contributions (list deleted).
That doesn't even count YOU, who even in asking some basic questions and joining convos has made THIS forum a BETTER PLACE. You don't need 10,000+ posts to be valuable!
YOU ARE VALUABLE!
Quote:Forum popularity contests are NEVER a good idea. Plus, with the recent merger of the EU and US communities, those deserving on the EU side would likely be overshadowed by the sheer weight on numbers on the US side.
There's just no way such a thing could ever be made fair.
As was pointed out earlier, there used to be polls involving in-game stuff like Favourite TFs, NPC Dialogue, PvP zones and so on. -
There really isn't much they can do about server disparities.
My advice would be seeing if your server's PvPEC rep can get a big throwdown event going in one of the zones. People show up, get into the action, more IOs are produced and either sold or slotted.
Sadly, this is mostly a PvE oriented game so getting people to kickball/RV/whichever is an uphill battle most of the time. Add to that, as Castle explained (thanks for your reponse!) they don't want them easily farmed either, we have a deeper problem.
You *may* want to ask for an alternate supply for them. Of course, they are intended for PvP acquistion, so where would the alternate supply come from? Perhaps you could cash in "Rep" for an IO roll at the Siren's Call merchant (only merchant I can remember) or an Arena store.
More PvP = more Rep = more IOs?
Not sure they have the time/inclination for such coding...
