Well with the attacks i use, i am using Eviscerate, Focus, Spin and Follow up most, which are, for claws attacks, kinda end heavy because of the buff Aoe and ranged 'ness' of them. I have slotted them with 1 EndRed, 1 Acc, 1 Rech which with the rech could be a cause of the end drop. I do have stamina, but because of the market it's not slotted at all yet.
...I'm gona just put everything down to too high expectations of the set. I'll play through the set and see how it goes solo for a while.
Thanx for all the replies guys, really appreciate it =)
Ps:Thought i'd upload my build anyway incase there are a couple tweaks that could help my survivability when i reach the cap =)

Quote:I did have my build slotted out with Kinetic combats before but i changed it to ToD's to deal with the damage that you lose from having lvl 35 ench's, i'm guessing the trade isn't worth it for Ice melee right?willpower is amazing for survival with a few pool powers and IO choices, you don't need mitigation from the secondary very much. As such, Ice is a pretty bad choice IMO since the trade of for better damage is the increased control aspect of Ice powers - which you don't need on a WP tank.
I'd suggest choosing Axe/Mace/Fire instead.
For the secondry, I have concepted my char to be a relation of my Fire/WP scrapper, so i thought ice would be good concept wise, but seeing as ice isn't really a good choise i would like to go for something element based thats not fire, so i don't get too much repetitivity. What would you suggest out of Energy/Dark/Elec?? I'm leaning towards Elec cos of the AoE and Dark because of the Buff AoE's and the -acc would supliment my def quite well, but i'm worried about end more so with dark. any advice??
also, for play style i like either lots of numbers (exp or damage wise) or speed, so that would probably change what would suit me best for this char =)
Thanx for all the help so far =) -
I persoanlly think that a Thor themed character would be cool =P expecially if you could make your mace(hammer) strike people with lightning =P
Elec armour is pretty descent, but make sure you get some S/L def in there, i'm not sure how much is needed tho, someone else should be able to help with that =) -
Hey, i thought i'd try something new and go for a combination that would have real good damage mitigation but was reliable and i would enjoy playing. Willpower was my first thought as i love the regen idea, and how enemies can't do enough damage to defeat you, their attacks are like petty feathers and paper planes hahaha =P. Secondly i went for Ice melee as the -rech would help with the whole mitigation thingy =)
Now i have a couple Q's...
1) with the amount of def i have will i be able to solo x8 missions easily enough with the -rech and almost 100Hp/s with one enemy in range =D
2) how resisted is cold damage, because i don't want to end up taking a day killing each mob
3) as i plan to solo a lot will this build be nice and fun to play, concidering mowing through hundreds of ppl is fun to me =)
So here's my build =)

I would suspect your attacks are the largest reason you are burning through end.
ill tweak my mids build and post it here when im done, guess that'll help =) -
Hey i've been playing a Claws/inv toon recently, for the first few levels up to 20 it was an absolute beast and a pleasure to play, but recently it's really deteriorated.
I'm 30 atm and i'm leaching end like crazy despite me having an end red IO in every attack and toggle. My attacks seem like they are hardly hitting hard at all, and my survivability isn't that great because of it.
I'm really losing interest in it atm, and so i have a couple Q's about my build and such to ask you lovely forum people.
1) which attacks would you say make a very effective AoE attack chain for a claws brute?
2) How much is lethal damage resisted at lvl 30? i heard someone say about the lol lethal damage problem at high levels so i imagine this will get stronger as i get closer to 50.
3) which damage types are the least resisted (brute primarys, no psionic please =P)
4) Is Inv fun to play at higher levels or is it just very survivable? and would you suggest WP over Inv for a brute?
thanx for reading guys, look forward to your feedback =)

I personally think that halloween shouldn't be the BIGEST event, Christmas and easter should be, with something a little more thematic for easter
Ps: by easter i mean valentines day which i think should be linked with easter because they both have a similar message about them =) -
Me personally would go something like this.
Fire/Stone
Elec/SR
Claws/Dark
SS/Shield
mace/energy - Cos ist strong adn pretty!
DB/elec
Dark/Fire
energy/wp
Stone/Inv
there we go, nice and tasty =D -
Quote:Tbh we might as well hold off buying a new card till when beta starts, at least then we, or some of us would have had the chance to tst the new ultra mode graphics with cards to see how they work on different cards.Incorrect.
That is their target for GR's release date. Beta will begin early 2010.
that gives me time to save up my cash for a nice shiny new card mid 2010 =D -
Sooo, if i want to run CoX in ultra mode and be able to get smooth gameplay during raids etc. and all for the cheapest i can get that for what graphics cards are best and what price would i be looking at??

Quote:i love you =DIts good to see people still would like that.
And yes je_saist, I can imagine that. I clicked them all the time when I was new, as they say they got the latest scoop. But they dont. I recall there is something like a monthly "City Scoop", but like so many other things about the game its something that you have to dig for outside of the game. (Very bad design that imo. When its official info to some events or story background, it should be accessible inside the game.)
On the other side I always wished (and asked) for more NPC interaction.
Why doesnt the newsie have the news?
Why cant the security chief tell me about the zone without me having the mission?
Why cant I give the panhandler a dime?
Why cant a cop give me some info on the local gangs and their whereabouts in a list menu?
Why cant a pedestrian give me directions to a neighborhood or brief story of the zone I'm in?*
Why cant I take a pamphlet, especially from miners and Ludites on villain side? Maybe I DO want to find out about the PTS or Cage Corporation. Why am I immediately attacked, and not just when I attack them or stand there without taking one for too long?
Why cant I buy something at a street vendor and end up with a snack in my hand that I can pull out again with '/e lastbought' e.g.?
*They might have a random list of things they know about, and conversation options for inquiring about this zone, this neighborhood, adjacent neighborhoods, villain groups you need to hunt for (click"Ask about Circle of Thorns activity". - "Seen any strange green glows or people in robes around lately?"), ask if they saw anything strange or dangerous around lately, ask for the time.
There could even be (gasp!) little side missions that some pedestrians or cops have randomly available.

The best MM primary for AV soloing.
Demon Summoning
C'mon you can just tell the damage output is going to be borderline broken =P have you seen the concepts!!! an AV would run away screaming if they saw you =P
but on a more seriouse note, i saw a video of a Bots/Dark soloing a GM, so for AV's no problem =) -
It's not a tank, but regen is the same across the board so whatevs.
My Wp scrapper build is on 746% regen with one enemy in RttC and 1190% regen with 10 enemies in RttC, which is 110.1 HP/s which i believe to be quite brutal =D -
Wow these are really good, and i can't choooose which one to put in sig, but i think i'll go with cole, cos he just looks real cool =P
compliments to the chef =) -
this is true, plus with the shield def aura manouvres is kinda like the annoying little brother really.
ill tweak it a little and see what i get =)
thanx

Hey, i was looking at a shield set for scrappers not too long ago, and thought, y'know this would be so much easier to soft cap on a tank, but i'm not a fan of tanks because of their quite low Damage output. then i thought super strength has rage which is good for aiding damage, and then i thought manouvres is easier to access than weave and it offers team defense, and concidering shield is a pretty team oriented set anyways, i thought i'd come up with a very team oriented high damageing soft capped tank. So here it is

Quote:i was going for S/L because most attacks have a S/L component, so i could be protected against most attacks, and i was told that S/L was easier to Soft cap then positionals.Secondly, you're using a set that doesn't have any defense type preference. You're better off going with positional rather than typed based defense (or an inefficient mix of the two, which you seem to be doing).
So, i direct this and all my questions to everyone, if positional defense is better how would be best to get high positional defenses, and would getting higher melee than i have S/L atm be much of a sacrifice to other parts of my build.
Quote:Third, don't short slot the enhancement effects for a power just because you want a specific set bonus. Enhancement will do more for a power than any set bonus. Of course, if you never plan on using the power, enhancement doesn't matter and set bonus trumps all. I really hope that you plan on using Charged Brawl and Chain Induction, even though you slotted them abysmally.
Will 4 attacks be enough to form an effective attacks chain concidering one of them is LR?
Quote:Fourth, you've got some funky proc preferences. The 4th Numina isn't going to do you much good since you've only got the single heal (and you short slotted that, to boot). Putting the Perf Shifter into Lightning Field is actually going to grant endurance to your target, thanks to how the proc works (it rides the first end mod effect).
Lastly, by funky procs i guess your reffering to Call of the Sandman heal proc, i thought i would be useful seeing as i would be usign that attack as my chain filler, and a lack of defense would mean my health was vulnerable. so would this proc be useful of just end up as a waste of time and inf?
Thanx
-NP
ps: i can't seem to find any up to date examples of how the defense mechanics work. I was hoping to find out the enemies base chance to hit depending on your defense so i know what to aim for when slotting. =) -
Hey im currently leveling a ELM/ELA scrapper and was hoping for a little feedback and advice concerning my percieved build =)
Also if anyone has play experience of an ELM or ELA character that would be very useful as well.

Quote:wouldn't that make sprint even more annoying and even less lifelike?? =P as well as putting too much time into a power that is only there so travel isn't as annoying in the lower levels.Now. Jack the normal run speed up to Sprint's level, make Sprint roughly equivalent to Super Speed but with, say, a 10-second toggleon limit (a la Phase Shift's 30-second cutout) and a 50-second cooldown, and you might be on to something.
ps: has anyone ever tried running from steel to PI, it's really annoying. Then half way there i realise i forgot to toggle sprint, and it was fine after i had =P
good point, tho that wouldn't be walking, and they keep increasing hovers speed. It's practically normal run speed atm. -
=O that would be wierd as!!! and so cool, but i think it would be EVEN BETTER if that was the weaver, and recluse looked sort of wierdly mutilated without a suit, kinda like no skin mutilated, as if he was connected to his suit =P
Also where did the Weaver come from, and if that is the weaver, why does it look like that??? alien? mutant? giant sprider creature from earth? -
Quote:/signed!!! always wanted to walk like the NPC's can =PAs it stands we have many people (myself included) rallying for a Walk button. There is such a thing as too much speed.
also i recon sprint doesn't really live up to it's name, and i don't mean it's too slow, i mean who i real life can sprint continuosly forever if their just sprinting.
I think sprints speed should be raised a little and the end cost should be made something like 2eps so you can actually tire out and not be able to sprint forever. tho i can imagine this would cause global anarchy within the CoX community because it would make the game harder.
I personally think it'd be cool =P -
I was testing out the reflection effects in the MA as a fly sub, and it occoured to me, why can't players have this.
It would be soo amazingly awesome to have a set of Semi transparent aura effects. The great thing about this is it wouldn't end up being another *Wines* I can't see my costume *cries* type tantrum thingy because it would only be semi transparent and would add to the costume.
i've always wanted to make a ghost character -
-
POWERSUIT!!!!! just with a very power orientated feel to it.
- dam aura
- +dam/acc taunt aura
- +res all +more res smash lethal and fire =)
- Auto explode on death, like the nemesis bots style
- Mez protection (knockback, hold, imob, sleep, repel, stun)
- +recovery
- +regen
- god mode, +recharge/dam/acc/ end reduction
- +speeds
something like that????????
ps: forget the debt, that gimps out on badging, get something like no debt powers, like how self destruct doesn't give debt.... dunno where you'de put that, maybe in each click power??
