Mez Indicator Idea
I had an idea to have some sort of power indicator in your team window that a teammate is mezzed that catches your eye that he/she is mezzed (held, immo'd, stunned, etc). For example, a player gets held and his name in the team window blinks/fades/changes a different color like it turns black when a teammate is downed.
Adds another element to support toons that can keep teammates afloat instead of -- "I'm held!" or keep an eye on the dozens of power indicators beside the name for any people that needs Thaw/ID/Clear Mind and whatever. Just a thought. |
I'd agree to this. When playing my emp it's hard sometimes to see zzz effect go off with everything else. And no everyone gets out their "zzz" message or gets it out in time. I know as an empath I focus on the team window to see who's taking damage so I know who to heal, or if the team is running out of endurance I know to trigger ra if possible, or if I see a black name I know who to rez. Having a flashing name, purple name, whatever would help in that respect and help keep the team up and going. /signed.

I don't think it would be impossible for the devs to have the team member entry fade to red when mez'd (in the same way that dead teammates fade to grey), though, it might actually be more useful to be able to control the fade yourself. Allow a group of settings (under chat or window settings most likely) that allows you to control the color that teammates fade to for various status effects (low health, held, immob, etc) or if they fade to that color at all.

Have mezzed teamates have thier AT symbols turn to "confused" emoticons.
I know it's not ideal, but you can do what I do:
Look for mez icons to appear on the buff bar next to their name. This does involve distinguishing player icons from enemy ones though (especially in the case of blaster defiance).

Speaking of icons could possibly have an animated explanation mark or something beside the AT symbol in the team window
This is a change I could get behind. It's really hard to see a single mez effect in a long line of buffs/debuffs on an ally, and with numeric stacking on it's hard to determine what an effect is at all. A change like this could go a long way in making people more active with O2 Boost, ID, and CM.
Would definitely be a big QoL improvement. I'd certainly like to see this happen.
