oh and about ra 6 slotting, is 6 really needed or would 5 and 1 acc do? ive just never seen much questioning over kb since everyone just assumes 41 is the magic number.
    make a FFer 6 slot force bolt 1acc 1KB IOs = 55.8KB

they are not as good ever since the elusivity nerf. In GR, expect a comeback for VEATs them since they are a good stalker counter.
  4. ur fire/rad, ill/rad, emp/psy, and earth/therm can all be decent team based pvpers. If you build for some +hp and +recharge, and knock back protection they would make for good support roles and debuffer roles. A great way to get +hp is to get ur accolades. For your rads make sure to pick up enervating field and lingering rad so ur team can do extra dmg on the target. for ur emp, u have to pick up all ur heals, adrenaline boost, fort, RA, and Telekinesis from ur APP; keep ur team buffed and TK the target. For the therm, its imperative to at least 5 slot Heat Exhaustion. Forge and ur heals will come in handy as well. The Therm can be both a team help or good for 1on1s. Ur ice/storm can be decent against squishies in 1on1s if you slow and hurrican them. As for ur elec/shield, it could be decent in zone pvp if IOed for +hp, and +def, grab web grenade from weapons mastery and 6 slot comfront to protect ur team from attacks. All ur toons should have either phase or hibernate (or sometimes both for zone pvp).

idk if you still go to RV anymore, but louie is a farmer with a heavy and hover. He's a AR/Dark corruptor who doesn't have phase nor hiber, tends to come out when the zone is not busy and when there is signs of trouble he resorts to droning. One time i was chasing down a blaster who couldn't even sprint since i had drained all his end and had him webbed. At 10% hp, the blaster ran toward villain base to drone himself (those guys are the worst). Anyway, when i turned the corner to scourge the blaster, louie, instead of firing one bullet to finish off the blaster, freaked out and droned him. I said "you know, you don't have to drone every MFer that comes near you, especially when they have no end and less than 25% health."

BTW how could Wormhole be better in all situations when it recharges like 10 times longer than TP foe? TP foe is better when the situation involves wormhole not being recharged. Don't forget to read my sig.

If you have both, you 1 wasted a power, 2 and or wasted slots. So you could have either picked up a power the is not redundant to what you already have and you would have been better off getting a power to be an IO mule.

This is amazing That i didn't know Drain Psych was melee lol and that you can use 140ft AoE attacks in PvP thats like blowin' up the whole zone!! watch out MMs it's comming for ya... I guess TP foe is PWN 4 PWN Better than Wormwhole since TP foe is interuptable and has no 8 stun with it.
  8. i'd say therm with flurry tough and kick.

I use mine everytime it's up when on a shard TF ( Aim -> Build up -> FireBall -> Fire Sword Circle -> inferno -> ??? -> Dead everything ). All I have to do afterwards is pop a blue, then hit Consume on the next available mob before continuing with my regular attack chain. Or if there's an Emp on the team, AB would negate the need for blues/Consume.

Yeah they were awsome when the AoE cap wasn't yet just 16. I remember on eden trial when i herded half the map full of those quarts monsters to a nuking blaster... golden age!

The only problem I see with it though is that you paint the game as being run by the players as if the devs are waiting or dependant on our requests to keep the game going. Using your analogy, it'd be better if that restaurant was a buffet. They offer what they offer... not for you as you please but as they see fit. If one does not like what's on the buffet table, then they probably wouldn't pay money to eat there.

So yeah, it may seem as though they take a "Don't like? Too bad" attitude, but in fairness again I think this because their responsibility has to deal with everyone in the game and not just the PvPers... even when in regards to just PvP.
at a buffet, you can pay, go look, maybe taste a few things, and finally spit it on the floor and demand your money back. 9 times out of 10 you'll get your money back. There is no option for that in MMOs so ur guys' analogy is not very good.

So yeah it could be like a buffet. You go in you get some food like pepperoni pizza a baked potato with the works etc. It's not a pizza from italy and the baked potato is slightly over done but things are still dandy. Well you go back for seconds and the pizza has no cheese or pepperoni on it, the baked potato has no sour cream, butter, or green onions on it anymore. You ask the guy wearing the chef's hat, hey what happened to the stuff on the food? He says, since we gotta be balanced and make it that everyone gets the same amount of stuff on their food, the best way to do it is to put zero things on the food there by debuffing the food and your experience. You say WTFF?!?! and ask for you money back but the manager says you already ate so much so you can't get your money back now. As a veteran CoH buffet goer you leave, are unsatisfied, and never look back. As a new CoH buffet goer, you eat with out much emotion and never notice what's really going on.

To be fair though, some people like pizza w/o cheese and a plain baked potato. And Dahjee how the heck did you get 8 red bubbles in ur forum rep with less than 800 posts??

Nukes are outdated. quasi-nukes that have no draw backs other than animation time do a much better job than overkill nukes like nova and inferno which causes 2x the hp of ltns. Rain of Arrows, full auto, all those pistol AoEs, Mental Manip AoEs, do enough dmg especially with a little help for a buffer like a kin or emp, and with a debuffer like a cold or rad. Over time you will kill way more enemies than pure nukes. I believe since the pure nukes are out dated, they should increase its dmg to do half of the hp of bosses. THis way blasters can use it as a last ditch to survive heavey hitting bosses like rikti soldiers.
  12. The greatest fix in i17 is that high end NVidia cards don't crash the game after a limited time. Before i had to type /unloadgfx every 15 min, that was bothersome. The weakness with ultra mode is that the zones are based on models that were made for a 6 year old MMO... that's older than WoW and look at WoWs crap graphics (though WoW uses a full range of colors to make up for it). What this means is that paragon does not do ultra mode justice in most cases, like it's old zones, old missions, old characters, etc. In Rogue Isles and cimerera, ultra mode is more noticeable. I'm hoping that preatoria is going to take more advantage of UM.

yeah a 10% increase to a 0.0000000000001% chance to drop is still hella low. In the end the devs need to up the drop rate. grats vash.

  15. GJ today in RV lol there was like 60 heroes in zone pillboxing killing AVs. Funny thing is they can take down Captain Mako in like 12 sec but couldn't kill a stalker or brute lol. GJ PvEers i can never accomplish ur feets of uber PvE fast killing.

But, I think my original premise is still basically correct: the more often you kill someone, the lower the drop-per-kill rate. But the posters saying the IO drop rate should increase as a result of the rest penalty being done away with are also correct since less downtime = more kills = more IOs, generally speaking.
Thank you for understanding lol I would have downs or be a FCer if i was just talking about single target instances, however i should have mentioned this would only help freedom servers while other server would generally retain the same drop rate. Zone kills especially on freedom is seldom A kills B over and over but rather A kills B-Z and vice versa.
  17. In RV i was wondering why the vills i killed came back to die again so fast... this gave me more kills i was happy. If i was the one getting farmed then maybe i would get back into action to die faster as well. This indirectly gave me more chances to get IOs... This indirectly gives everyone in zone pvp more chances to get IOs. This indirectly is a good thing.

Along similar lines: Most people who claim that the "hardcore" PvP community is ____ don't actually know anyone in the "hardcore" PvP community. In fact, most of the "hardcore" PvPers are the same people who run 25 minute STFs alongside PvErs.
I know myself as a player who pvps 95% of the time (not saying im "hardcore"), but I can't run any TF's in 25 min :-( when im on a TF team. heck, i could barely kill an even lvl EB. PvE PuGs give me so much **** for sucking so bad, i get kicked off TF teams, regular teams, and then in BC they would ask for the same AT i was. Anyway i just wanna add that some players who PvP a lot sux at PvE.

  20. I understand what you mean OP. What ur trying to say is that the devs should make PvP more meaningful, entertaining, and fun. As it is now, the meaningfulness and fun part comes from player made content (like the PvPEC events) and getting the occasional PvP IO. Since player driven content (aside from mindless killing of other players in zones) is what keeps PvP going in this game, we see a lot of egotistical players who seek a lot of attention and recognition and have a strong sense of aversion for 'nooby' players. Although PvPEC tries hard to get new players to join the PvP community, the '1337' players and those who think they are '1337' tend to condescend new pvpers and help hault the growth of PvP in CoH. People are people and can't be changed, but if the devs gave PvP all kinds of new meaningful goal oriented content with appropriate rewards, many more players in other servers other than Freedom will start to pvp and enjoy it. The news is most '1337' PvPers have moved to freedom or quit the game; this means that if devs introduce good pvp content casual pvpers like youself will have many more enjoyable times like you did in RV while the '1337' players can play peacefully amongst themselves away from 'nooby' content (such as base raiding). Also to be fair, content for high end pvp should be introduced as well. The botom line is we need more PvP content, if not, than a server with world PvP (which i don't think will happen but I am hoping that praetoria will have it since there is no war wall).
  21. thats cuz u were playing a boring stalker.
  22. grats if more pvpers were like u we'd have more IOs
