You forgot to add "level to ten" before the email part. Have to be ten or higher to send emails.

I didn't say anything, not wanting to spoil it for him. I probably should have because I think he was disappointed that there was no choice.

So... I'm not surprised to see a question like this in the forums.
In all honesty, I secretly thought we would get the choice, but at the same time knew they wouldn't give it. On my first Incarnate, I debated if i would take the fast track or not if it was offered. I still don't know which way i would have gone on that one if they had offered the fast track.

    Which raises the question...

How did someone like Wu Yin get in bed with Vanessa DeVore?! Talk about an age gap!
  5. I don't really think you have to go so far as to add lore to justify it. Instead, one could complete arcs that are functionally identical, but textually different, to unlock the same badges (don't quote me on this, but doesn't the patron badge name change when you go hero?). This way you would do the same tasks to get the same reward, but for a different reason. and since all the patron arcs have you betraying you mentor but still getting the power, and as mentioned how the power is gained is never specified, it could be possible to defeat them and steal the power.
  6. Did you seriously just turn this suggestion about adding a slight difference to a mission into a tangent about "support characters are the sucks"? Weak.
  7. I have, from day one, always just expanded the window well past those little tabs in an effort to get more salvage viewed.

13.5% To Hit isn't bad. It really isn't by itself. But each Mire gives 4.5% To Hit base. For each target you hit up to 10 targets each, so that's potentially +90% To Hit for a Double Mire.

The base +To Hit in Nova form is decent by itself, and in the lower levels, when you need it, you can't slot it for a better bonus without sacrificing a lot of slots. And in the higher levels when you can afford to slot it with fewer slots, you don't really need it because you have many other tools that are better to have.

The good news in this is that Nova doesn't really need slots. Just having a +To Hit in the base slot is great, and means you can spend those slots in other powers. It also means that you can upgrade that slot to just about any IO Enhancement and get a better bonus then what you had before. Be it Slow Resist, -KB, a Perception bonus, or Stealth. Compared to your other tools, those are things you don't normally get (or get enough of) but can now have! Thanks to Nova!

Pfft, Everything Arcanaville says is a mathematical gem. Just have the bot crawl the forums and log every post of hers, in order, in it's own special "Arcanaville-ville" section of Paragonwiki!

For the longest time (I1 through at least I10, possibly longer) people talked about there being a mechanism in the game that prevented a character from missing too many times in a row. Basically, it guaranteed a hit after X number of misses in a row. I recall that number being 7, but I am relying on memory. The other aspect of this mechanism that was never clear to me was if this miss chain correction mechanism was per power or overall (i.e., if I used, say, Jab and then Punch, is it 7 misses total using both Jab and Punch, or is it 7 misses by Jab and/or 7 misses by Punch)? Do auras with a taunt, fear, damage, or other "to hit" effect count toward the miss chain being interrupted?

I ask because the last few times I've played I have been able to count upwards of 10+ misses in a row before a hit is recorded. I have, at times, been specific to count whether that was per power (rarely) or overall (more often), which leads me to think this miss chain correction mechanism has either been removed, changed, or I don't fully understand when it takes place. Now, I'm not claiming any conspiracy or nerf here -- I may have simply missed this being in an update, it may be something people talked about but wasn't actually in existence, or, again, I may simply not fully understand the mechanic if it does/did exist in the game.

From the responses given to the OP, I figure this crowd most likely knows what I'm referring to, most likely knows how it works, and can correct me/inform me of the mechanic.
You're thinking of the streak breaker code. You can do a search for it, or wait for Arcanaville to post an all inclusive write up on it.

Because the Costume Change Emotes are slash commands, you can easily set them to binds or macros.
  13. Well, one quick thing to mention is that Nova does take sets. Specifically To Hit, Flight and Universal Travel Sets. I've got a +Perception IO and I'm going for a BotZ Slow resist. But for right now I do have a single To Hit IO in it.

  17. I Alt+Tab to my browser and surf the internet.

Used to be I could do that easily and leave only the bottom sliver visible because people would shout the number where the spawns are, so I could see when a spawn happened. Now, because the Trial is so trivial, I have to actually pay attention (kinda)!

    Except maybe a zombie joke.
I call Poe's Law on this. I couldn't tell it was a joke because I've seen people post things like that "straight faced" and believe it (or at least defend it and never ever let on they were joking).

They would need signed documentation from any author of an arc they wanted to convert, which is more trouble than it is worth considering they already exist in-game.
No they wouldn't. They own everything created in the AE already. Even if you made "The Amazing Spiderman's Adventures in Paragon City" and filled it with Marvel and DC characters, NCSoft would own that and any copyright issues are between them and Marvel / DC, not with you. Nothing you make in the game is actually yours.

That said: Those arcs which reach the level of "Developer Choice" are given real rewards (SOs, salvage, recipes) instead of tickets already. The OP is suggesting they also get placed in an outside environment with their own contact, in addition to other changes I don't really care about. I don't care about the idea, but copyright issues aren't an issue.
  21. This is a fairly excellent idea. I'm not completely sold on the requirement for salvage to change levels. But I could see it as a way to help increase demand for those pieces which are used less then often. Having the salvage related to the particular Enhancement would drive up the price of already demanded salvage even further. Going with commons or uncommons that aren't high in demand (perhaps just uncommons, they don't get enough use I think) would help prevent them from being just vendor trash.
  22. I wouldn't want ones that affected the enemies, but the idea is sound and interesting. Have it linked to costume, so if you're defeated in Costume Slot 0 you break down via sparks and collapse stiffly and if you're defeated in Costume Slot 3 you instead smoke and collapse forwards in a particular way.

Having all the ending positions identical to our current death position would be ideal, and the only thing we change is how we got there. That way rez powers and the such wouldn't have to go through any awkward repositioning of your corpse while working (that Awaken twisting you from your back to have you get up normally, or making you suddenly whole again and just standing up).

I'm always down for giving enemies more damaging / varied attacks. More enemies should have Placate or Confuse. More should have Taunt and Repel effects. Heck, more NPCs should have powers based on powersets we get (Shield, DP, etc) similar to how we got some with Electric Control, Kinetic Melee and Demon Summoning.

I'm not really down for "piercing" rounds, the mechanic isn't exciting to me, but I could see adding it to certain powers already in existence, such as Sniper Rifle from Assault Rifle. We as players don't really have many sets where piercing would make thematic sense, but those that do, it would be nice to have. So long as it stays balanced for what it currently does.
  24. Well, since you've covered slotting, let's look into powers:

Playing up to Synapse's TF you could get away with playing as a Nova / Dwarf exclusive, and only picking powers that would qualify as utility. This is actually something I've done, and it works out really well for exemplaring down. Dedicating your slots to powers in your forms and using the enhancements your thinking of lets you pick powers solely for the benefit of the team.

Powers like Super Speed (combined with your cloak for invisibility and Recall Friend for stealthing TF missions) and the Medicine Pool (for giving Mez protection and rezzing others) are a great way to ensure you're useful no matter what your teammate is in the low levels. Those are also good picks because they're slot light.

If you want to go a more human route (which is more possible if you slot starve your higher level powers) you'll have to actually pick your attacks, and they'll be a little less powerful compared to the Nova attacks, but you'll get your shields. I don't recommend it, but it's a viable option for sure.

And honestly, as for the Invention Procs (-KB, etc), I would still find them worth investing in. The first 7 levels will fly by every time (assuming you get them at level 10, adjust accordingly) and you'll be in Nova from level 1 on anyway (level 1 + 5 for Exemping = Level 6 Nova!) that you should consider the IOs even if you don't get the benefit until three below their level.
